Just for Today


..

This conference-..approved literature in bookmark form provides
meditations and a prayer to help us stay focused on what we can do,
“Just For Today.” ..
..JUST FOR TODAY I will try to live through
this day only, and not tackle all my problems at once. I can do
something for twelve hours that would appall me if I felt that I had to
keep it up for a lifetime.....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will be happy. This assumes
to be true what Abraham Lincoln said, that "Most folks are as happy as
they make up their minds to be."....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will adjust myself to what
is, and not try to adjust everything to my own desires. I will take my
"luck" as it comes, and fit myself to it.....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will try to strengthen my
mind. I will study. I will lean something useful. I will not be a
mental loafer. I will read something that requires effort, thought and
concentration.....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will exercise my soul in
three ways: I will do somebody a good turn, and not get found out; if
anybody knows of it, it will not count. I will do at least two things I
don't want to do - just for exercise. I will not show anyone that my
feelings are hurt; they may be hurt, but today I will not show it.....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will be agreeable. I will
look as well as I can, dress becomingly, keep my voice low, be
courteous, criticize not one bit. I won't find fault with anything,
nor try to improve or regulate anybody but myself.....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will have a
program. I may not follow it exactly but I will have it. I will save
myself from two pests: hurry and indecision.....
....JUST FOR TODAY I will have a
quiet half hour all by myself and relax. During this half hour,
sometime, I will try to get a better perspective on my life.....
.... JUST FOR TODAY I will be unafraid.
Especially I will not be afraid to enjoy what is beautiful, and to
believe that as I give to the world, so the world will give to me. ..

Come to Me right now. In the silence of this moment, know your seat in My heart. Know it is saved for you. Entrance to My heart is easy. All you have to do is to think of My heart, and the feeling of knowing once again will follow and ring true. Perhaps you can feel Our love now. Perhaps you can even have an inkling of remembrance. You cannot fully forget Our love, for it vibrates within you. Your longing is stirred by your remembering the love you once knew you were fully immersed in. You are immersed in that love now. You are soaking in My heart of love right now. There has been no change. The change is in your remembering, that's all.

Because you may have forgotten where you left your glasses, doesn't mean that your glasses are gone. They are right where you left them. And so is our love right where it is, flowing, flowing. You never left the serenity of My heart. You may have forgotten for a little while, yet the recollection is just waiting for you in the next instant. The Reality is unchanged. Everything is exactly as it has always been. The chamber orchestra of My heart is playing your favorite song. The music is calling to you, asking you to come back in the only possible way, and that is by remembering. You can always slip your awareness back to Our Eternal Love. Our solidity of love is gliding, gliding.

Our love is not like soda that can lose its fizz and go stale. Our love is ever-fresh and cannot go flat. Our love comes from such a mountain stream that it is always bubbling. Right now Our love is bubbling deep within the mountain of My heart from where all love comes.

Our love reaches you now. I am pouring it into your bloodstream, filling up your heart with all the love it has yearned for, and now Our unimaginable love runs through your veins. There is an artesian well of love, a veritable fount of love. It is bursting through forgotten passages and rising, rising right to the surface, and your heart is billowing in Our love rising, rising past the surface, rising right up to the mountaintop of Heaven and returning, returning, replenishing all the viaducts of love. One heart filled fills all others. This is undeniable.

Beloveds, you have a full tank of love at your disposal. Love is ever-bubbling. Catch those bubbles. No, let those bubbles bubble ever upward. You are a bubble-pipe of love. Blow those bubbles. Look how they float. Look how they float past all the clouds, reducing darkness to nothing. Love is the brightest light there is. Right now you are soaking in the radiance of the bright light of love.

This is like old times, beloveds, when you knew your light and from whence it came, when you knew your connection to the Universe, when time was not conceived of, and space was not, and all there was in the whole wide world was love, such an expanse of love that it covered everything in its wake, and there was nothing to cover, for all was love, and all of My child beings were love abounding, and love alone was known. You were drunk on love, beloveds. Nothing else was needed. Love was the drug of choice.

And, now, try it again. Try on love for size. There is no size too large for you. Wake up to love now. Gulp it down, and blow those bubbles of love until the whole Universe is floating in love, love too great to keep to oneself but only to give. This is Our moment of love, and it is timeless, and it is Ours forever and ever, and no one, no one, can rend it.

The welling of your heart is like the dawning of the sun. As your heart wells with all the love in the Universe, the sun comes out. Because of the fullness of your heart, the sun comes out for someone, or many, or all.

You are significant in life. You contribute. You brighten lives, or you dim them according to your light. May you brighten lives. Beloved, it is incumbent upon you to find happiness so that you may give it. It is not solely your happiness that you are about. Your life was never solely about you.

If you have thought so, you have mis-thought. No one's life is solely about himself. It is really little about himself, yet that is the misperception that the world has held high. When all are One, how can any one individual life hold the spotlight? No one's heart belongs solely to himself. The Three Musketeers had it right. It is All for One, and One for All. You are pivotal in the world. You are of the utmost importance.

Certainly, you are important to yourself. How you interpret is of the utmost importance. When your attention is directed to yourself at the exclusion of others, you are looking through a microscope. Now you need a greater keyhole to look through. You need to see Vastness and the important part you play in the Vastness.

If you were making a stew, the carrot would not say: "This stew is all about me. It is only about me. It isn't about the potatoes or the celery." Nor would the carrot say: "Even if the stew were about the others, I leave them to fight for themselves because I am taking care of myself, and they can take care of themselves."

Beloved, even a carrot knows he is his brother's keepers Even a carrot knows that no carrot is an island unto himself.

There is no reward in self-centeredness. There is reward in becoming part of a wonderful stew. Play your part, beloved, and season and blend the stew well. It is upon you that the stew of life depends. You cannot be self-seeking. You are to be God-giving.

Whether you like it or not, choose it or not, you are integral to life on Earth for all. You are not the only one, yet you are a key player. You hold the golden key. And now I ask you to turn it. You turn it in your heart. You are here to shower blessings for all.

You contribute whether you are silent or speak aloud. You contribute no matter who you are or where you are. The world's view of your capacity is short-sighted. You are the holder and precursor of the world. You are its instructor and revealer.

You never get a day off or a two weeks' vacation. You are never by yourself, and your thoughts, with or without action, set the pace and tone for the day and for the world. You are a prime motivator. You are never invisible. You are a mainspring of the Universe. You are a mood-setter. Whether you accept it or not, you are a server of the Universe, and you serve all. You are inevitably serving.

You organize the Universe. You tell it what to do and how to be. Uplift yourself, and you will automatically uplift all. It is incumbent upon you to set the dial of life on Earth. This is your assignment. Do you accept?

An angel walks beside me,



An angel walks beside me,
I feel him everyday,
she helps me through lives ups and downs,
and whatever comes my way.
She guides me down the road of life,
and lights the darkest roads,
he picks me up and carries me,
when I can not bear the load.
She helps to ease the pain I feel,
she mends my spirit, too,
she holds my hand, and shelters me,
and gives me courage and strength, too.
She speaks to me with words of love,
and he listens to my pleas,
she was sent here from the lord above,
to guide and comfort me.
I know she's always watching,
though his form I can not see,
its a peace I feel deep in my heart,
that leads me to believe.
An angel walks beside me,
I feel blessed everyday,
that the presence of this angel,
will never go away.

There are so many things I'd like to say.
But that would take me all day.
Now I wonder where to start.
Guess I'll say what’s in my heart.
There is one thing I know that's true.
I'm so blessed to have a friend like you.

Thanks for always being there.
And showing me how much you care.
As my new life starts to unfold,
And I am learning how to take hold.
There are times I don't know what to do,
But I know I can always turn to you.

Our friendship is one of a kind,
One most people never find.
I never knew from the start,
Just how much you would touch my heart.
I'm so glad you came into my life,

Make EVERY day count!



Appreciate every moment

and take from it everything

you possibly can,

for you may NEVER be able

to experience it again.

Talk with people you have

never talked with before,

and actually listen.

Let yourself fall in love,

break free and set your sights high.

Hold your head up,

you have every right to.

Go look in the mirror and recognize

that YOU are the greatest gift,

BELIEVE in yourself,

If you don't nobody else will
