The president released a cryptic image of himself walking through an airbase with what appears to be an alien. Well somebody having fun.
Donald Trump delighted conspiracy theorists by posting an image of himself walking alongside an "alien." The apparent AI collage, published on Truth Social, shows him at an airbase next to a shackled, silver-skinned humanoid. The landscape behind Trump and the alien strongly resembles descriptions of the secret US Air Force base in Groom Lake, Nevada—the notorious "Area 51."
This image was followed by a series of others: the president is seated at an electronic console, apparently directing some kind of military action in low-Earth orbit. And all this is happening just weeks after the Pentagon declassified more than 100 explosive UFO files, including astonishing images and videos of unexplained celestial phenomena.
The overnight social media outburst sparked a flurry of comments online. Many users particularly noted how muscular the "alien" appeared. While the classic "gray" alien is usually depicted as small, almost childlike, Trump's AI psychic towers at least half a head over the president (who stands 6 feet 3 inches tall, or about 190 cm) and boasts impressive abs.
This series of images has left conspiracy theorists in a flurry of activity. Investigative journalist Ross Coulthart, a key figure in the UFO community, wrote on social media shortly after the AI image was published: "I'm told the President was indeed briefed on the Unidentified Anomalous Phenomenon (UAP) Reentry Program. The President, @marcorubio, @RepLuna, @RepEricBurlison, and @timburchett have been pushing for answers that previous Presidents couldn't get. The big question is what will the PRESIDENT tell the American public now that he knows what's going on. Trump knows a lot more now than he did in his first term, when he was sent the first UAPTF briefing."
Trump seemed pleased by the widespread attention generated by the release of previously classified documents, declaring, "The American people deserve transparency and truth." In the first week of his second term, he ordered the release of records related to the assassinations of President John F. Kennedy, Senator Robert F. Kennedy, and Martin Luther King Jr. However, the new documents contained little new information.
However, Trump's current post stands out even compared to his previous antics. While the president had previously used neural networks to create satirical or campaign-inspired collages (for example, of himself riding a lion or saving a drowning Statue of Liberty), the tone of his messages has now taken on a disturbingly serious tone. In the caption of the "space console," he wrote: "They didn't want you to see this. But the battle is already underway."
The phrase quickly became a meme and quotable phrase. However, some took it literally. Former intelligence officer David Grausch, author of a bestselling book on government UFO research, said in a podcast interview: "Donald Trump rarely does things without a reason. Yes, it's AI, but this method of disseminating information is both deliberate trolling and a test of public reaction. It's setting the stage. The question isn't whether aliens are here. The question is when will they officially announce they're here."
For now, the Pentagon remains silent. When asked to comment on the president's AI tweets, a Pentagon spokesperson responded with the standard phrase: "We do not comment on speculation about unidentified anomalous phenomena." And Trump himself, it seems, will continue to fuel interest by releasing new "evidence"
Since then, the Trump administration has released one set of official documents and photographs related to UFO reports. However, very little of the released material can be considered conclusive evidence of visitors from another world.
But the sightings continue. A recent Pentagon report stated that more than 750 new UAP sightings were recorded between May 2023 and June 2024, of which about 20 were credible enough to warrant further analysis. One video, for example, showed a Hellfire missile from a US Reaper drone colliding with a glowing sphere off the coast of Yemen. "We've never seen a Hellfire missile hit a target and bounce off," said Luis Elizondo, a former senior Pentagon intelligence official who regularly comments on UFO research.
