We each have gifts that differ according to the grace given to us—Romans 12-6
In the Scriptures (1 Corinthians 12:4-11), the spiritual gifts that the Holy Spirit has given to mankind are divided into three main categories, which can be subsequently divided in another three subcategories. The numerology of three here is also significant, as it represents the Trinity of the Deity and, as above so below the human triad in man: the Physical, Mental and Spiritual side of man. These spiritual gifts bestowed upon mankind are:
1. The gift of Knowing
2. The gift of Doing, and
3. The gift of Speaking
In Occultism, these qualities also corresponds to the three- fold nature of the Deity; those of Divine Will, Divine Wisdom, and Divine Activity. These gifts are given to man based upon his degree of spiritual evolution, and to aid the learning of the karmic lessons that he needs to work out during the current lifetime. It is possible to acquire more of such gifts later on in life, although this is also dependant on the karmic standpoint of the person and the degree of responsibility that he or she has acquired in handling these divine blessings.
It is futile to covet the spiritual gifts of others, for there is always a reason (much greater than the narrow point of view of the souls in incarnation on the earth plane) as to why they are being withheld.
The Gifts of Knowing:
In this category are, Words of Wisdom, Words of Knowledge and Discerning of Spirits. Words of Wisdom are those words which pop into your head and help you solve a situation, find the answers you were looking for or give meaningful advice to someone. They are given to you through your Intuition, which is a direct channel, as it bypasses the conscious mind, to the wisdom of the higher planes. Accepting this gift, stilling your conscious mind through meditation and developing your intuition is the first step in developing this gift in order to help others and make a real difference in the life of others, based on the purity and accuracy of the information that comes through. Dowsing, for example, is a great tool that enables you to have a tangible and direct channel to your intuition whenever you need guidance from your Higher Self and /or Spirit Guides.
Words of Knowledge:
This is when the Holy Spirit communicates to the person a piece of information about someone or something, (it could also come through as that I just know feeling) without having had proof, for it and later we see the information confirmed, either by the very person or by the turn of events. This gift is the supernatural knowledge that Spirit allows someone to have on a particular occasion about someone or a particular situation. (In John 4:16-18 Jesus is given a word of knowledge about a woman's life, and He knew that she ha been married five times without having being told by her first).
Discerning of Spirits:
In this category the gifts are many, varied and of completely different nature. Here are all those souls who possess clairvoyant abilities that allow the person to see, hear, feel or even smell different spirit entities. Here discerning means identifying the presence of a discarnate being. Clairvoyance seems to be the most coveted of all this spiritual gifts, as most people would like to have the visible proof of a spirit world right in front of their eyes and only then believe. (Faith though is a major lesson that needs to be learned and one of the reasons as to why some people do not have this gifts). It is important to acknowledge that all psychic abilities are as important as clairvoyance (or clear seeing), and these include clairaudience (hearing), clairsentinence (feeling), clairgustus (tasting and smelling odours and substances that aren't there in the physical). You all have latent psychic abilities within you, and for this reason even people with little or no spiritual evolution can manifest those gifts, but here is the difference the second gift of discernment which, unfortunately, not everybody has.
The gift of Discerning Spirits is also given with or without clairvoyance. It is the ability to discern and identify the true nature of an entity; for example lower astral entities and/or demonic spirits from archangels and benevolent spirits. Unfortunately, many people do not have this innate ability, and channel or take spiritual advice from malevolent entities that want nothing but to see mankind destroyed.
The lesson of discernment is one that all of you have to learn at some stage in your evolution and, in most cases, the person who can discern entities has acquired the right to this gift, either over many lifetimes, or after having made many errors in judgement. It is important to remember, at a soul level, you all know what is right and what is wrong, and the true essence of a being, and it is only by listening to your inner voice and whether the information feels right or not, that you can discern the true nature of the entity that we are dealing with. (We should never forget that the true nature of an entity can be known by the fruits they bear. Here the New Testament helps us, as truth and goodness can never come from an evil spirit:
Beware false prophets, who come to you in sheep's clothing but inwardly
are ravenous wolves. You will recognise them by their fruits.

This brings us to the second interpretation of this gift. We are all entities, incarnate or discarnate, human or otherwise. Discerning the true nature of a person is another gift which falls into the category of discernment. You have not been left without guideposts from the higher planes during your incarnation. The eyes are the window of the soul, and it is usually by looking straight into somebody's eyes that we see the kind of entity that inhabits that particular physical vehicle.
There are other higher spiritual laws which help you to distinguish people this way, the eyes being one of them. Being the windows of the soul, they reveal much about the spirit incarnated within the person.
Gifts of Doing:
In this category are the Gifts of Healing, the Faith in Miracles, and the Works of Power.
The Faith in Miracles (Acts 3:1-11) is a special gift or rather, an anointment by the Holy Spirit , which enables a person to perform what, on the earth plane, is called a miracle. Here, faith that this can happen is also one of the keys to being blessed with such a special gift, along with the knowledge of the Universal Laws. The faith in miracles can also be received without a person performing the miracle; a miraculous healing or a miraculous turn of events can also be a sign that the person has been blessed by this gift by the Holy Spirit. If you think about it, many of you have been blessed with this gift in many ways throughout your lives. It is when you have faith in the Universe that miracles happen, often with increased frequency.
Gifts of Healing: this gift is also two -fold, as there is a healer and a healee. In the first instance, it is the gift of spiritual healing (i.e. hands on healing and the like), in which the person acts as channel or vehicle for the Spiritual forces to heal the sick. It is important to remember that it is never you, the person that heals anyone, but the Christ- Principle, Holy Spirit and/or Angelic forces that heal through you. This should be remembered to keep the ego in its place.
The gifts of healing also come to the person being healed, as the karmic burden of the illness has been lifted away by Divine Grace.
Works of Power are those gifts that are so great and powerful that they make the people who see them marvel and realise that there is a reality beyond this physical existence. An example of this can be seen in the Bible, Acts 9:32-42 where Peter performs a miracle that leads many people to believing in the existence of God.
The Gifts of Speaking:
These are the gifts of Tongues, Interpretation and Prophecy.
The gift of Tongues is the ability or anointing of communication with angels and Higher Entities, in the angelic tongue. In the Bible this is also described as the supernatural phenomenon of a lingua franca ACTS 2:11-13 when people from different parts of the Roman Empire heard the Holy Spirit speaking to them in their own languages. Sometimes tongues can be in a language known to the receiver, but not to the speaker, or it can be in the tongue of Angels, which is also understood by the fallen angels, and for this reason it has been used to speak to the entity during exorcisms. The Brotherhood of Light and/or Holy Spirit is the One who dialogues with the demon in this case, and the person is merely the channel for such an exchange to take place.
The gift of Interpretation usually comes with the gift of tongues but it can also come on its own, as there may not be a two-way communication with Spirit. In the first case, the gift of interpretation enables the person to understand the angelic tongue and translate it to others, so that they may also partake of the wisdom from the Higher Planes. In the second case, this gift comes as the ability to interpret the energy thought-packages of the Entity that is communicating with you in order to translate them from thought-transmission into your own language, and into coherent sentences. Conscious channeling is a perfect example of this gift.
The gift of Prophecy is given in many forms, and it is when the Holy Spirit, an Angel, an Ascended Master or a Higher Guide uses a person to deliver a message, or sometimes a warning, to other people. The words or pictures can be given intuitively, or through esoteric tools like the tarot, dowsing, scrying or other divination methods.
It is important to remember that purity of life and motive, integrity, faith and modesty are the key elements to expanding or receiving these spiritual gifts. Being humble is of utmost importance, for if the ego is riddled with pride, or if the person becomes proud as a result of being entrusted with these special gifts, the Spiritual Hierarchy will stop working with them and withdraw the gifts, letting the personality have its way. On these occasions the person will have failed the test of handling the responsibility that comes with the Gifts of the Spirit. Unfortunately, the failing of this test is a big step backwards in the spiritual evolution of the soul.
It is unfortunate, and very common today, that so many who have failed the test, fall foul of their egos, maintaining the self-proclaimed illusion that they can channel from a place of purity, thus providing the world with a multitude of variations of wisdom, ideologies and beliefs channeled through nothing more than ego or spirits of low degree by these false prophets of today.
