    Hi,

     

    The vedic astrology is calculated on Moons position and the stars position at the time of your birth... That is why it is moon sign.

    And the accuracy is not depending upon which science you are using but how are you calculating the position of stars ... In Western astrology also when they go deep into the positions of stars and their effects depending upon the sun and moons positions they are fairly accurate ... but they do not like to go that deep in calculations that is why many times we see generalized predictions ....

  Hi,

   

  OK ... That is why I tend to believe in moon signs rather than sun signs ..... If calculated by a proper professional with a talent or gift can really tell you a lot about yourself.

    Hey Rajeshy, Yeah they say that Moon signs are more important at times rather then the Sun Signs, because the Moon Signs describes our inner aspects on things. I have heard of that before, when it comes to Zodiac things. To pay attention to the Moon Signs

  And I looked at the Hawaii Astronomical Society's website and this is what they had to say about Ophiuchus:

  Typically depicted holding Serpens, the constellation represents Esculapius, the Greek god of medicine. Son of Apollo and the nymph Coronis, Chiron, the centaur taught him. His skill at healing was legendary; he could even raise the dead. This last skill roused the anger of Zeus, who slew Esculapius with a thunderbolt.     hey you are an info seeker, excellent, perhaps you could locate how the 13 sign system describes the attributes of each sign?

      hmm..never heard of the phrase "info seeker"..but that's me in a nutshell. I just gotta know. lol  But I have been intrigued by astrology for a long time, but have recently been interested into knowing just why it survived for so long. THere ahs to be some truth in it.  And as kingjeff says...the zodiac tells a story. 

      The 13 sign system describes the attributes similarly to the western system (i believe so anyway).  I gotta check on that again.  But I have been more interested in understanding why what time you were born would have anything to do with your personality.  And if it is DNA mutation caused by the sun, why does it only mutate your DNA at birth, and not while you are in your mother's womb? 

       

      ***And one more thing****

      --There is a difference between your ascendant sign (the sign that was high in the sky at your birth) and your sun sign.  Your ascendant sign represents the sign that was ascending on the eastern horizon at the time of your birth.  This represents what you are born as, what personality you will have as a child.  ON the other hand, the sun sign represents what zodiac you were born under.  THis is what most of us use as our "sign".  The sun is supposed to be your ego, how you view the world, and what you will grow to be. (kind of like your adult sign).  And then you have your moon sign, which represents who you ar at your worst moments :)  Your emotional side.

  I can't point you towards the video right now, but if you are interested, Michael Cotterel's most recent book discusses how he thinks the astrological signs we have impinge on our personality because the sun releases different types of radiation throughout the year, and this interacts with our DNA (actually said it mutates it) and generates generic personalities.  But then the position of the planets in conjunction with the astrological signs and where they are located further distinct our personalities.  (and our experiences and what not...)

  So if there is a thirteenth zodiac, (and I think Sidereal astrology has been saying this for a while right?), does this mean that every once in a while the sun creates a different type of radiation that creates a new "personality".  What is this different type of radiation?

   

  -just a thought-  Now I'm going to be thinking about this all day.
