The healthy foods people choose to eat may actually be causing chronic diseases and cancer, according to a recent study. It now appears that Monsanto, the controversial American agrochemical company, is responsible for a poison found in almost everything we eat.
Iconic Brands Contaminated
Dozens of breakfast cereals and snacks have tested positive for glyphosate, a cancer-causing chemical found in Monsanto’s Roundup and Ranger pesticides. Even iconic brands such as Cheerios, Wheaties, Kellog’s Frosted Flakes, and Quaker Old Fashioned Oats are contaminated.

Most disturbing is the fact that many of the products on the list are aimed at children. Unsuspecting parents put items such as Nature Valley Crunchy Granola Bars in their child’s schoolbag as a healthy treat. Instead, children are being exposed to a dangerous poison. It is even more alarming that one-third of baby food products were found to contain glyphosate.

Glyphosate is an alleged carcinogen that has been implicated in causing chronic illnesses. It actively kills beneficial bacteria, leaving the body vulnerable to debilitating diseases. There are strong links between glyphosate and non-Hodgkin lymphoma, a type of cancer that starts in the lymph nodes. A mounting body of evidence also indicates that certain breast, brain, lung, and prostate cancers are caused by this chemical.

Monsanto argues that only minuscule amounts of glyphosate are present in foods, therefore rendering it safe. However, even if foods are labeled as “All Natural” they are likely to contain traces of glyphosate due to the extensive use of pesticides in current farming techniques. Since glyphosate exists in most processed products which contain grains, fruit, vegetables, milk, and nuts, these small amounts accumulate in the body over time, thereby increasing the chances of developing a serious illness.
Further Exposure to Glyphosate
People are further exposed to glyphosate through non-food items. Vaccines, cotton clothing, and feminine hygiene products have tested positive for this chemical. Even life’s basic necessity, water, is not free from this contaminant with rainwater and groundwater supplies producing traces of glyphosate.
With Monsanto facing increasing legal actions, perhaps it is time for people to fight back against biotech companies and demand a return to organic farming practices.
