It then morphed into a full-blown protection racket which oppressed the people.

Silk Road paved by Marco Polo and his Roman Catholic sponsors in the second half of the 1200s. Eventually, they formed the MAFIA for profound political and geopolitical, and practical economic and financial, reasons which are global in scope and import.
