Can you tell me how do you define 'oneness' in your own words?
What is 'oneness' for you?
When and how have you heard about it?
How does it help you in your practical life?
How do you apply it in your life?
Why exactly is it attractive to you?
I'd like to hear from more of you. The more, the better.
Thank you.

For all of you who love good dance music, here is just a new release by my dear friend and sister. Enjoy!

Lyrics:
I know how you're feeling deep inside
There's no more dreaming
No want to hide
You've got to take control again
Noone else to be but who you are
who you are
Your heart is burning deep inside
Everyone's stopping you
when you want to fly
Don't be afraid to live your life
Have the courage to be true and just be you
just be you
Somewhere you can find the sunshine
Something that will touch your soul
If you just keep trying you can find the door
The Lord's,
I wasn't replying specifically only to you in this thread, you understand that. This is public forum, anyone can read. :D
You've said this very nicely.
Cheers,
Divina
Thank you very much for your comment, the Lord's :)
You see, whichever path you take, all paths lead to one Source: Spirit. The whole Truth only seems to be dualistic. But it is not. Let me explain.
Everything is spirit. Spirit underlies, pervades and directs everything. Everything is contained within spirit. You and me and everything is spirit and is in spirit. So in that sense, we and everything is / are one. :)
Note: In material universes like ours, spirits are covered with material coverings, like our bodies, with which we identify so strong, for example. Alas, that's where all our trouble starts! Lol!
BUT, that's just one part of the same and one Truth. To understand the following, one need to have their linear mind transcended. Otherwise, it is very hard to understand this pure transcendental truth which is, by the way, obvious to any sane mind and pure heart. Therefore, if one doesn't understand this or doesn't accept this, one is insane and impure.
So, the other part of the same One Truth is what 'new-agers' deny so persistently, and that is their unique individuality which can never ever ever become anyone or anything else. Especially one can not usurp the place of the Supreme Being from Whom everything is emanated including your very tiny self. Your individuality is limited and localized and one should never strive to usurp another's part or place, otherwise, we have war! Don't we have war?
So finally: find out what is 'your unique place under the sun'. That's all. Stick to this! Mind your business! And everything will be fine, fine, fine! When you find out who you really are, you'll be so extremelly satisfied that you'll never ask or claim for anything else. Since you don't know who you are, you think you'll be (more) happy if you're one with everyone and everything. Sorry, dear folks, you're simply showing your pain of non self fulfillment, non self realization. You're trying to hide behind some 'oneness' while you don't have the courage to discover your very self who is dying to be known and is in immense pain because of that! This self-denial is extremely painful!
So, we already know that everything is powered by the Spirit emanating from the Supreme Spiritual Being, now we only need to find out 'who we are' in the overall Big Picture. We are tiny sparks of the Great Spirit, we are atomic in size and not as big as Him. The sooner one gets rid of this megalomaniac nonsense, the better.
It is far far better to try to find the way back to the Source from whom you receive everything, including the ability to hate, rebel, defy and reject that very Source.
Cheers!
Hi Divina,
Can you tell me how do you define 'oneness' in your own words? When and how have you heard about it?
I can honestly say that I had never heard of 'oneness' until I came here in February.
How does it help you in your practical life? How do you apply it in your life?
Defining it as I understood it 'we are all one' has confused me, pissed me off, I have felt guilty for not being 'one' with what i consider to be foolishness, i have had quite a bit of self doubt because my beliefs have rarely been the same as others. I have kept my opinions to myself because they are often different to many here and it seems that difference is not something to be celebrated within this 'oneness'.
Why exactly is it attractive to you?
The truth is what I was searching for.
I am now learning what oneness means or rather what it doesn't mean because it means nothing :-)
Dear Karen,
LOLLOLOL!! :))
Thank you for being so sincere, I totaly admire it! Your simple words being so deep and concrete at the same time, humble me. Furthermore, your healthy sense of humor really rocks! Kudos to you dear one!
There is an interesting paralel discussion from another angle going on here: http://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/forum/topics/on-my-reluctance-to-b...
Oneness is the unversal consciousness. There is really only one consciousness. Our experience of separation and individual consciousness or identity is in actual the function of an awareness that is not awake, and that has a tiny focus of concentration. When you become awake you realise you are one with everything that exists, and as well as being an individual awareness.
All the beings that live on Gaia, including the humans are all part of her, are all one with her. We are all made up of the same stuff, we are all part of the same great awareness. Our idea of separation and individual actions in no way invalidate this fact.
The same oxygen flows through our blood, the same water fills our forms, the same material makes up our physicality. Likewise the same consciousness forms our awareness. The difference is only in form, not substance.
In practical terms to realise your consciousness is not a tiny concentration in one body, but is everywhere and everywhen at the same time, is to become one with all things. Thus you unite your unique perspective of your individuality with that of all things. To do this you must totally let go of the ego, which is essentially what creates the illusion of separation. Only in the practical realization of oneness with all things is the truth of unconditional love experienced. Until then, unconditional love is just lip service to a cute motto.
This universal consciousness is one and the same as LOVE, they are the same stuff. It is in everything that exists, animate or inanimate. Everything with consciousness IS Love, from your most evil to your most good, from those who hate to those who love each other, from inanimate rocks to divine beings.
To experience the bliss of the full awareness of universal consciousness is to pass beyond the boundaries of any kind of human ego identity and enter to the realm of the divine. The bliss is infinite. All knowing. Eternal. In everything. All powerful. Ineffable. Indescribable. To disolve your identity within this universal consciousness is to truly and forever become one with all, and to experience the supreme everlasting bliss and happiness of total cosmic freedom.
Flashstorm, thank you for taking time to write your reply.
Regarding last part of your post starting with: "Only in the practical realization of oneness with all things is the truth of unconditional love experienced." - I practically realized it and I was greatly disappointed... In practical terms 'oneness' means 'nothingness', in other words 'spiritual suicide' = disolving, withdrawing your identity completelly in order to be one with everything. Unfortunatelly, it is not fulfilling as expected.
My practical experience showed me that oneness is NOT the ultimate goal, the eternal Bliss that you're looking for is NOT there... Of course, I can say this because I went much higher, because I was completely determined to find out the Truth of the 'matter', means the Absolute Truth.
I have described my personal experience about this to some extent in the paralel discussion here.
I was wondering if someone else has got the same experience, since all I see here people talking about is theory, a belief, or whishful thinking, someday, someway, somehow...maybe, perhaps... So I was wondering why people believe this.
