This provided me with seemingly minutes of entertainment whilst on my walk in the general direction of home.
I was standing under a street light at night, looking at my shadow, not having a dialogue with it, just observing, when I had the urge to take a photo of it. And then I tried again, and then I tried with flash, And I tried without. and then it dawned on me. If you try to take a photo of your shadow at night whilst holding the camera, without a flash, there isn't enough light. and if you try it with a flash, well you've enlightened the shadow.
Now I'M prepared to accept that with the right equipment it must be possible. However a quick scan online revealed a complete lack of owner taken, night shadow photos. and I couldn't find a discussion on how to do it either. So to those of you with flash equipment, take a photo of your own shadow. If you dare. :)-
It may very well be a first.

Yes. your tripod can take a photo of your dark shadow. But you can't take it whilst holding the camera.

Yes, I thought about that. but then you aren't taking the photo. The tripod is.
I believe that this won't be possible until a quantum lens is invented. quantum energy is currently dark because we don't have the means to enlighten it.
