Here is a brief version of the mythology story of Uranus:

Uranus was known as Ouranos, the God of the Skies. He was the first son of Gaia (Mother Earth), and he would eventually marry his mother. Their children would include six Titan sons, six daughters, a Cyclops (one-eyed giant), and three monsters (of which each had fifty heads and a hundred hands). Other offspring included the Erinyes, who were vengeful monsters.

Ouranos reportedly hid some of his children away, horrified by their appearance. This hurt Gaia, who asked one of her sons to castrate Ouranos for causing her discomfort. Ouranos was reportedly castrated by one of the Erinyes named Cronus, and his blood from this act fell to the Earth and landed in the foam of the sea.  And from the foam arose Aphrodite (Venus), the Goddess of Love.

After the emasculation of Ouranos, the sky (Uranus) would separate from the Earth (Gaia).  Cronus would then become King of the Gods, and call himself Zeus, the new God of the sky and the bearer of lightning bolts.

The Planet Uranus

Uranus rules Aquarius, and Uranus (and Aquarius) represent the inner drive for innovation and freedom from old ways that in turn may create chaos with established orders and established ways of doing things. Thus, Uranus is related to experimental science, unusual arts and crafts, social reformation, active involvement with improving social wrongs, shocking events and activities, and aspects related to rebelliousness against authority.

Uranian energies can be surprising, shocking, and terrifying. Uranus rules lightning, explosions, use of weapons, overt use of occult energies, terrorism, protests, riots, and unexpected events that take place that are shocking and surprising (and of which authority figures can do NOTHING about to stop such).  HOWEVER, Uranus also rules computer technology, astrology, radio, internet, television, inventiveness, inventive ability, desire for social reform and social fairness, and sympathy for the underprivileged or "the underdog."  With the Age of Aquarius approaching, expect to see and experience aspects of these areas mentioned (both good and bad) in ways that will affect your everyday life, whether you want it or not.

I personally find writing this to be frightening since I was born with Uranus overhead, and a lightning storm is going on as I write this (and my male Chihuahua is freaking out, pacing all over the room.  Poor dude).

The Planet Pluto

Pluto is the ruler of Scorpio, and Scorpios (like Pluto) are two words: tough and intense.  But Pluto is also the ruler of the underworld, and when you live in a world of darkness it is important to not only be tough, but also be very analytical in order to survive (or you may bump into the wrong thing or trip over something).  Hence, Pluto has a purpose of "desiring to know what is beneath the surface," and it can be to obtain information to either to help oneself (and others) to advance or to obtain information for one's own selfish motives. It is for this reason that Pluto (and Scorpio) can be defined as the research analyst or the detective at best, or the gangster or hidden terrorist at worst.

Pluto (and Scorpio) rules new age metaphysics, private investigations, psychology, alternative healing techniques, banking and insurance, and social research.  Pluto also rules dark and hidden applications of the occult, espionage, mind control over others, eugenics, organized crime, and torture.

If you carefully look at the two sentences above, you will notice that both are mirror reflections of each other in the sense the first sentence represents positive areas, and the second sentence represents negative areas.  As mentioned, Pluto can either be the research analyst or the detective at best, or the gangster or hidden terrorist at worst. It is all up to the Scorpio (or the individual with a strongly placed Pluto) how they wish to exercise their power.

 Uranus Square Pluto

Financial astrologer Arch Crawford (of Crawford Perspectives) interpreted this placement very well by saying "expect a big protest or a challenging response against those in power who may have abused their power."  Uranus Square Pluto has been going on for a few years now, and we have seen quite a few responses from citizens against "the system."

These responses include Edward Snowden deciding enough was enough, and he blew the whistle on the NSA.  We also watched the Tea Party form in the United States and have a political impact with dissatisfaction of both main political parties in the U.S. government.   We also watched incredible record numbers of gun purchases in the United States after the U.S. government made it clear that it felt the Second Amendment was an outdated provision of the Constitution, and that citizens needed to trust their government law enforcement more (regardless of the large number of teenagers (taking psychotropic drugs) going on shooting sprees).

Internationally, we watched concerned citizens in Great Britain address potential pedophilia problems with the British government and the British elite.  Also noteworthy are violent protests of Chinese citizens against their government. And finally, note that the Russian government refused to work with the U.S. and Europe in areas such as banking (ruled by Pluto), as the Russians (and other countries, such as Brazil, India, China, and South Africa) decided that banking in the U.S. and Europe is simply corrupt and unstable.

Winter Solstice 2014, Washingto D.C.

High in the sky at zero degrees Aries is the star of Scheat (near the Midheaven at 0 degrees Aries, 59 minutes).  This is a very nasty star that includes murder, extreme misfortune, imprisonment, and break from conventional thought or philosophy as it's definitions.  Not a good way to start the winter; I expect the reputation of winter 2014 - 2015 to include much public and government tension, especially with changes that may be implemented (or shoved down our throats) by Obama (and other elitists) as he leaves office.

WILL OBAMA BE IMPEACHED BEFORE 2016? I don't know, but anything is possible. Because of transiting lucky Jupiter positively placed near his Descendant (the area of "open enemies") and Saturn transiting his tenth house (which can define a "fall from power" if acquired power was abused), I give it 50 / 50.  I do expect Barack Obama to be taken to the woodshed in 2015 (AND HE WILL NOT LIKE IT), but impeachment is something that can really tear a country apart, even if it is needed.

Going into Christmas, the square between Uranus and Pluto takes place with its transiting application and direct involvement with the U.S. natal Sun position (at 12 degrees Cancer 45 minutes, per July 4, 1776, 3:02 AM, Philadelphia, PA).  I am anticipating a "shocking transformation" (as with most Uranus  / Pluto transits) that may feature conflicts (as defined by the square) involving U.S. citizenry and the U.S. government as we enter the winter of 2015.  Further proof of this is Uranus high in the sky (in the tenth house)  and near the MC at 0 degrees Aries, 59 minutes.  And yes, this may include the possible U.N. Gun Law that Obama may sign on 12/24/2014. On a positive note, read above what I said about Uranus.  There are some positive things that can happen as well.

The sixth house rules public health conditions, government and civil service employees, military employees, international and national criticism of government policies, and police employees. With a major lineup of planets taking place in this house (and all squaring Uranus in the tenth house within 15 degrees of this square formation), one may expect some of these sixth house areas to be heavily under fire in the news with either public or media criticism (or both).  It is possible that this criticism could get intense, and possibly violent.  Let's hope everyone (especially the U.S. government) keeps its cool and addresses debated areas of concern both logically and fairly.

THIS IS A HOT SQUARE THAT DEFINES A SHARP AND INTENSE TRANSFORMATION WITH BOTH THE PERSONALITY OF THE UNITED STATES CITIZENRY (which is one aspect of the natal Sun position of a country) AND ALSO THE STYLE OF LEADERSHIP OF THE GOVERNMENT AND IT'S IMPORTANT LEADERS (which is another aspect of the natal Sun position of a country).  And because of the recent changes that revealed a "rebellion" took place during the last U.S. government election (with Uranus high in the sky at the time of reported election results in D.C., much like this chart), one may expect similar "rebellious" attitudes and responses from the U.S. citizenry regarding their sentiment with the U.S. government and its' leaders.  Let's hope it does not get violent, as the U.S. government (and other governments as well) has a history of loving to play dirty against its' citizens when the citizens do not like what the government is doing.

On a positive note, Jupiter (good luck, expansion) is placed in the second house (finance, money, savings) and is in a hard sesquiquadrate angle (135 degrees) with Mercury (news, communication) in the sixth house (criticism).  I anticipate this placement to define "good financial news" (Jupiter / Mercury) and hence further U.S. stock market increases in numbers and further U.S. dollar increases in value.  And you are freaking nuts if you bet the farm on this, as the U.S. is very close to a financial cataclysm of some kind.  This is evident by the  recent handcuffing of the U.S. taxpayer to the U.S. banking system (which is having reported problems with $303 trillion in accumulated derivatives) by what I suspect is a U.S. government being blackmailed by offshore banking interests and NSA dirt found on U.S. government officials.

My Warning To The Elite

Uranus is placed with the star of Alderami, which rules areas of sterness, gravity, judgments, trials, and hard choices.  Pluto is placed with the star of Alzirr, which rules trouble, disgrace, sickness, loss of fortune, and affliction.  Both are in a very hard square with each other this winter solstice 2014, and squares indicate that eminent conflicts are likely to happen involving areas ruled by the planets involved with the square

This is not a good time for the elite and government leaders to be involved in policies of sweeping change that have financial or similar aspects of "control" over the public in a manic or intrusive way.  Policies implemented for reasons that the elite and government leaders believe are best for the public (by virtue of their position or influence, as well as their ability to implement public policy) may find themselves at the behest of an angry and possibly violent public.

Note that politicians have been under open attack by a public that has been "waking up" in the past few years.  It may thus be wise for government (and the elite that owns them) to negate implementation of policies that may have negative effects on a large percentage of the population, especially in terms of liberties and financial positions. 

Maria Antoinette had similar condescending views on a dissatisfied public as our government leaders and current elite appear to have, and she got a haircut for not taking them seriously.
