  • Hey All!!

Was sort of reluctant to post this on the vegatarian/vegan group, BUT it totally coincides with a natural lifestyle.

I've recently found iherb.com~it's a very fair priced site from what I can tell, and has a little bit of this and that all natural!

What are some of your favorite natural products that you've used? As in natural shampoos, conditioners, lotions, deodarants, toothpastes, etc?

Am dedicating myself to changing most products over to all natural to coincide with my healthy eating lifestyle, and am curious to hear some nice recommends from some 'natural' masters out there ;)

  • Mr.Ed.: You are still Super-Cool.

  • It's now today 1 month I am vegetarian and I am loving it! I feel much better and healthier. My soul is happy and I just wanted to share with everyone this happiness. :)

Thanks all for your tips and insights!

    Much love

    Isis

  • Divinity: Sounds good. Enzymatic is a good brand. I also like Wild Rose, Botanica and St.Francis Herb Farm for their cleansing tinctures and formulas.

    Love and light

  • Uriel/Auriel: Check out this link - http://veganhealth.org/articles/bones

Bones can be calcium, Vitamin D and/or protein. I would suggest adding more dark leafy greens (i.e. kale, chard, spinach) to your diet daily and use a source of fortified plant-based mylk like organic soy or almond milk. Tahini or sesame seeds are a great source of calcium as well. Calcium-set tofu is also a great source too.

Vitamin D, you can get from the sun or you can take Vitamin D2 (http://www.botanicahealth.com/products/item.aspx?category=Immunity&...

Not getting enough protein can also cause bone issues. Make sure you are eating a few servings of either beans, legumes or tofu/tempeh a day to get enough protein for your body. Aim for at least a cup or so. You may also consider using organic brown rice protein in a smoothie to help get enough. Vegetables, nuts and seeds aren't good sources of protein on their own. If you want to get enough protein on a raw diet, you will need to eat several pounds of vegetables and fruit a day at least.

Bones can also be affected by iodine intake. Make sure you are eating a source of iodine daily - iodized sea salt or seaweeds.

    Take care

  • Well I am currently doing a "complete liver cleanse" by a brand 'enzymatic therapy" .. this will be my third day, I thought it wise to correlate it with the full moon, 'releasing' and all :) Haven't noticed any big difference yet, but gonna keep on.

Does anyone have any good recommendations of good brand 'cleanses' that I could do a series of? I really want to pinpoint each and every main organ in my body and thoroughly cleanse them as best I can!!

I've never had the brand of almond milk snowcone17 posted, only because they don't have that here in this town I live, BUT I do drink "almond breeze" almond milk and I love it!! I ne ver!! liked cow's milk, EVER. I could eat it with cereal or homemade chocolate milk but that's it! but the almond milk, I can drink it straight from the carton it's so good!! it tastes really good mixed with my ground flax too!

  • 8114392655?profile=originalhere is an alternative if anyone is vegan and misses milk. it taste just like regular milk but tastes better has 50% more calcium its gluten free and lactose free its 100% vegan. the only place i know that has it is nugget market if u have one of those were u live. here is the link to the homepage: http://www.califiafarms.com/

  • No problem Divinity :) I love to help!
I would say that it only take a few weeks at the most for your body to be rid of meat and other animal products after you stop eating them. The consciousness shift is instant however! Doing a cleanse does aid your body's process and the juice feast is a way to help prepare your body for a new phase in your life.
It does take your body 7 years to renew all of your cells though, so your best bet is to start now and in 7 years, you will be an entirely new vessel!
Your body changes very rapidly though and you should rest assured that any actual meat will leave your system very quickly once you stop eating it.
  • Thanks again Water Being :) Loved the site!! and MMmm they look SOO tasty.

Another question :) hehe Yes I'm full of them, Inquiring minds seek to know :)
in YOUR personal opinion, how does one rid their body of all the 'peutrified' meats that have been in one's body for their lifetime?

I was a heavy meat eater for YEARS. Do you think that after one stops eating meat, and does a good liver cleanse with the juice feast, that that is a sufficient enough way to rid myself of all the peutrified remnants of lifelong meat eating?

  • Xidorn - Great to hear!

Divinity - Check out this site for dressings: http://blog.fatfreevegan.com/category/salad-dressings

Also, I enjoy a dressing I make for kale and other salads:
1/4 cup of tahini (sesame paste)
2 tablespoons of apple cider vinegar or lemon juice
    1 tablespoon of maple syrup
    1 tablespoon of miso
    1 tablespoon of dried dill
Water to thin it out to consistency. Blend it in a blender and then pour!

One Mouthful of Delicious Sauerkraut = 1 Bottle of Probiotics!?

I'm a firm believe in probiotics and is why I make kefir or sauerkraut. I just read a really great article about the benefits of sauerkraut and wanted to share it with you. For those who've never made sauerkraut there is also a video showing you exactly how to make it. I'd also like to add that my favorite kraut is pineapple sauerkraut...it's different and absolutely delicious and easy to make. You can make kraut with any vegetables you have on hand...your imagination is your only limit. One…

Spiritual Benefits of a Vegetarian Diet

You are what you eat! Bondage and liberation are states of mind. The mind, as a mass of vibrating energy, is limited by the constitution or condition of that energy. If the energy is heavy or inert, little can be done with it to produce the state of silence and clarity needed to reflect the truth of spirit. Certain elements darken the mind and make it thick or heavy, vibrating very slowly–sometimes seemingly not at all. On the other hand, some elements lighten the mind, making it fluid and…
