Reiki in Hospitals

Reiki in Hospitals Over the past two decades, Reiki has gained much wider acceptance in the medical establishment. Hospitals are realizing the effectiveness of the treatments and also the increased patient satisfaction. Many hospitals now include Reiki in their patient services, provided by their own physicians, nurses, therapists, and other support staff. A research study at Hartford Hospital in Hartford, Connecticut showed increased overall patient satisfaction with the treatments. The findings indicated that Reiki improved patient sleep by 86 percent, reduced pain by 78 percent, reduced nausea by 80 percent, and reduced anxiety during pregnancy by 94 percent. In the same study 75% of the patients who participated said that they would “definitely want service again”. According to an article in the USA Today, (published September, 2008), over 800 hospitals now offer Reiki as a regular part of patient services. Below are a few of the hospitals offering Reiki.
