Uruguay government aims to legalise marijuana

Uruguay has unveiled a plan to allow state-controlled sales of marijuana to fight a rise in drug-related crime.

Under the bill, only the government would be allowed to sell marijuana to adults registered on a database.

Defence Minister Eleuterio Fernandez Huidobro said this was part of a plan to remove profits from drug dealers and divert users from harder drugs.

He said that the recent increase in murder rates was a clear symptom of a rise in drug trafficking crimes.

Ground-breaking bill

"We believe that the prohibition of certain drugs is creating more problems for society than the drugs themselves... with disastrous consequences," Mr Fernandez Huidobro said, presenting the bill.

"Homicides related to settling scores have increased, and that's a clear sign that certain phenomena are appearing in Uruguay that didn't exist before," he said.

The authorities blame the rise in crime in Uruguay on hard drugs, specifically crack cocaine.

The new bill envisages that some shops would be allowed to sell marijuana cigarettes at a price fixed by the authorities.

The government also wants to create a user database to supervise consumption.

BBC regional correspondent Vladimir Hernandez says the move is seen as groundbreaking in South America.

Several Central American leaders - including the presidents of Guatemala and Costa Rica - have spoken of the need to consider decriminalising some drugs in an attempt to undermine cartels.

In Uruguay alone, the illegal marijuana market is estimated to be worth about $75m (£48m) a year.

But the new bill has already proved controversial, and the debate in Congress could take several months, our correspondent says.

The main reason I posted this blog, is not just for the freedom of being able to choose what you want to put into your own bodies, Which by the way eating it is much better for your body and mind. Anyway the crime here in central  America is the highest in the world per population. And that is because of drugs, good ones like pot, and bad ones like crack are all put together. When they legalize pot then the crime and gangs will fall apart. People want but it if they can grow it them selves. If they have to buy it from the gov't , thats OK to in the beginning , so people wont buy it from the gangs who also try to get you to use and buy there bad drugs. If people can get pot they most likely wont buy Crack which burs your brain out. Also the jails  will be 3/4 empty when it is legalized. Using it for medical purposes like I did is a start in the right direction, don't you think so. By the way obama used to smoke a lot and now he's plans to get the young people vote by legalizing it for medical treatment but of course who promise that after the next election. He should do it before the elections to be truthful right. Adonai

The cannabis plant has been very important in our history and the hemp plant which the marijuana comes from, is one of the most beneficial plants in our history as it provides a plethora of uses, from food to rope to medicine, to so, so much more.

Somebody mentioned the aura in relation to the effects of perceived 'drugs'. I would say that cannabis is not as much of a 'drug' as the actual unnatural hard and pharma drugs on our world are, as the cannabis experience is one that varies with each variety, but cannabis that is purely and respectfully grown can garner a positive, spiritually beneficial experience if one is at the level in their own growth to be able to utilize such an experience.

That being said, any type of smoke is damaging to our auras and to our throat chakras, but smoking is only one way out of very many that the cannabis experience can be garnered or utilized, and in some cases the experience of smoking can be the most dense experience, as has been reported by those who have say, eaten 'brownies' [medically or for enjoyment] to garner the cannabis experience among doing many other things, rather than smoking and damaging the aura and throat chakra.

There are plenty of people on our world right now, whose resonance is too pure to match the resonance of the assistance given by any type of cannabis, no matter how purely it is grown. Such souls would still find it to be a dense experience as cannabis has been put on our world, indeed by our Creator, to help those still steeped in density and difficult Earthly experience, garner a taste of the higher dimensional experience if even only for a moment.

Such souls who have found the energies of the higher realms in very pure ways, do not need the energies of cannabis for their own growth and development (indeed, nobody 'needs' it, but it can be of assistance) but it is still important for all to realize the importance the hemp plant has played in our history, and the importance of no longer discriminating against cannabis or cannabis users, and this is again a mindset that can be attained whether one uses or believes in cannabis or not.

Those in immense pain on our world for various different medical and health-related reasons, find marijuana to be not only helpful in completely taking away their pain, but in helping them to deal emotionally with the inner sadness that can be garnered when having cancer, AIDS, or another debilitating disease.

As we are fast being returned to the will of the people being implemented worldwide, one obvious fair law that is going to be enacted, is going to be the lawful using and growing of cannabis and hemp. Some will discriminate but no matter which mindset one employs in relation to cannabis and no matter which judgements are thrown forth, the vast majority of national and worldwide poles and petitions that have been Created have shown that there is a vast majority of people who understand the importance of the legalization (or better, decriminilization so that money is no longer in play) of hemp and cannabis alike.

And now, for the final section of this rant, in the very near future cannabis will not be needed, by anybody, to attain a higher and purer experience that we will already be feeling exponentially. Cannabis will have long been legalized as the implementing of the will of the people will have long taken place by this time and as humanity adjusts to fully being in control of our world and our own actions, many will have long grown out of even the wish to use cannabis as we will all be quite busy, both ascending and running our world.

Cannabis has been very useful for us and our world for a very long time and many will enjoy the newfound sense of freedom in being able to use cannabis once the will of the people is implemented and like everything else, those who use cannabis will become used to no longer being discriminated against and with the many technologies we will be given anyhow, the experiences we are to attain in general will be vastly more amazing and opening than a cannabis experience has been and ever will be.

Whoo! This turned into quite the essay. Thank you for this article :) :)

Much Love :)
