i love that quote (even though i don't really believe in "God" and "The Devil" anymore.. but that's another story! i feel the line describes a type of "fall from grace", when we divided ourselves~first from ourself, then~from our brother... love was lost, and it's true source no longer recognized. it became something to be bought, sold, sought after, earned, deserved... no longer, just manifest, organic and innate. ~deep stuff!~
