The biggest problem is that humans have problems themselves for they fail to live in peace and harmony among themselves ....so how are they going to live in peace and harmony with our space brothers and sisters.
I do not think that humans are ready for First Contact now but maybe after a few disasters that will bring all those who survive closer to each other so they respect each other and then First Contact will be real as we will need their help and friendship
