Marijuana Myths

(From same site as previous post)1. Marijuana Causes Brain DamageStudies of human populations of marijuana users have shown no evidence of brain damage. For example, two studies from 1977, published in the Journal of the American Medical Association (JAMA) showed no evidence of brain damage in heavy users of marijuana. That same year, the American Medical Association (AMA) officially came out in favor of decriminalizing marijuana. That's not the sort of thing you'd expect if the AMA thought marijuana damaged the brain.2. Marijuana Damages The Reproductive SystemStudies of actual human populations have failed to demonstrate that marijuana adversely affects the reproductive system.3. Marijuana Is A "Gateway" Drug It Leads To Hard DrugsThis is one of the more persistent myths. A real world example of what happens when marijuana is readily available can be found in Holland. The Dutch partially legalized marijuana in the 1970s. Since then, hard drug use, heroin and cocaine, have declined substantially. If marijuana really were a gateway drug, one would have expected use of hard drugs to have gone up, not down. This apparent "negative gateway" effect has also been observed in the United States. Studies done in the early 1970s showed a negative correlation between use of marijuana and use of alcohol.A 1993 Rand Corporation study that compared drug use in states that had decriminalized marijuana versus those that had not, found that where marijuana was more available, the states that had decriminalized, hard drug abuse as measured by emergency room episodes decreased. In short, what science and actual experience tell us is that marijuana tends to substitute for the much more dangerous hard drugs like alcohol, cocaine, and heroin.4. Marijuana Suppresses The Immune SystemInterestingly, two studies done in 1978 and one done in 1988 showed that hashish and marijuana may have actually stimulated the immune system in the people studied.5. Marijuana Is Much More Dangerous Than TobaccoSmoked marijuana contains about the same amount of carcinogens as does an equivalent amount of tobacco. It should be remembered, however, that a heavy tobacco smoker consumes much more tobacco than a heavy marijuana smoker consumes marijuana. If marijuana were legal, it would be more economical to have cannabis food and drinks, which are totally non-carcinogenic. This is in stark contrast with "smokeless" tobacco products like snuff which can cause cancer of the mouth and throat.6. Legal Marijuana Would Cause Carnage On The HighwaysAlthough marijuana, when used to intoxication, does impair performance in a manner similar to alcohol, actual studies of the effect of marijuana on the automobile accident rate suggest that it poses less of a hazard than alcohol. When a random sample of fatal accident victims was studied, it was initially found that marijuana was associated with relatively as many accidents as alcohol. In other words, the number of accident victims intoxicated on marijuana relative to the number of marijuana users in society gave a ratio similar to that for accident victims intoxicated on alcohol relative to the total number of alcohol users. However, a closer examination of the victims revealed that around 85% of the people intoxicated on marijuana were also intoxicated on alcohol. For people only intoxicated on marijuana, the rate was much lower than for alcohol alone. This finding has been supported by other research using completely different methods. For example, an economic analysis of the effects of decriminalization on marijuana usage found that states that had reduced penalties for marijuana possession experienced a rise in marijuana use and a decline in alcohol use with the result that fatal highway accidents decreased.7. Marijuana "Flattens" Human Brain WavesThis is an out-and-out lie perpetrated by the Partnership for a Drug-Free America. A few years ago, they ran a TV ad that purported to show, first, a normal human brain wave, and second, a flat brain wave from a 14-year-old "on marijuana".When researchers called up the TV networks to complain about this commercial, the Partnership had to pull it from the air. It seems that the Partnership faked the flat "marijuana brainwave".In reality, marijuana has the effect of slightly increasing alpha wave activity. Alpha waves are associated with meditative and relaxed states which are, in turn, often associated with human creativity.8. Marijuana Is More Potent Today Than In The PastThis is not a myth, on average the THC content of marijuana tested from 2000-2005 was about two to three times as high as it was in the late 1960's and early 1970's.9. Marijuana Impairs Short Term MemoryThis is true but misleading. Any impairment of short-term memory disappears when one is no longer under the influence of marijuana.Often, the short-term memory effect is paired with a reference to Dr. Heath's poor rhesus monkeys to imply that the condition is permanent.10. Marijuana Lingers In The Body Like DDTThis is also true but misleading. Cannabinoids are fat soluble as are innumerable nutrients (like Vitamin A) and, yes, some poisons like DDT.11. There Are Over A Thousand Chemicals In Marijuana SmokeAgain, true but misleading. The 31 August 1990 issue of the magazine Science notes that there are over 800 volatile chemicals present in roasted coffee.12. No One Has Ever Died Of A Marijuana OverdoseThis is true. Scientists have conclude that the ratio of the amount of cannabinoids necessary to get a person intoxicated (i.e., stoned) relative to the amount necessary to kill them is 1 to 40,000. You would have to consume 40,000 times as much marijuana as you needed to get stoned. In contrast, the ratio for alcohol varies between 1 to 4 and 1 to 10. It is easy to see how upwards of 5,000 people die from alcohol overdoses every year, and no one ever dies of marijuana overdoses.

MarijuanaThe Sociology Of Cannabis And World History© 1998 Jack Herer. From the book The Emperor Wears No ClothesContrary to popular perception, marijuana is not a phenomenon rooted in the 1960s. Cannabis hemp is part of our global heritage and was the backbone of our most stable and longest surviving cultures.Recent psycho-pharmacological studies have discovered that THC has its own unique receptor sites in the brain, indicating man and marijuana have a pre-cultural relationship - indeed, human culture could very well prove to be the blossom of our symbiosis with cannabis. What’s In A Name? The name hemp, from the Old English, hanf, came into use in Middle English by 1000 A.D. and still belongs primarily to Cannabis sativa. It is also used to designate the long fiber obtained from that plant: the earliest, best-known and, until recently, the most widely used textile fiber on Earth. It has long been regarded as the standard among long fibers. As such, its name has come to be used as a generic term for all long fibers, whereas Indian hemp or true hemp denotes cannabis hemp. Now commodity markets list names like Manila hemp, abaca; sisal and henequen; Mauritius hemp, for Furcraea fiber; New Zealand hemp, phormium; Sunn Hemp, Crotalaria; and India hemp, for jute. All these plants are unlike true hemp in appearance and in economic properties. Curiously, the name hemp is never applied to flax, which is more nearly like hemp than any other commercial fiber.True hemp is known in different languages by the following names: cannabis, Latin; chanvre, French; canamo, Spanish; canhamo, Portuguese; canapa, Italian; canep, Albanian; konopli, Russian, Konopi and penek, Polish; kemp, Belgian; hanf, German; hennup, Dutch; hamp, Swedish; hampa, Danish; tai-ma, dai-ma and tse-ma, Chinese; asa and taima, Japanese; nasha, Turkish; kanabira, Syrian; kannab, Arabic.First Known Cannabis UsersAncient and modern historians, archaeologists, anthropologists, and philologists cite physical evidence (artifacts, relics, textiles, cuneiform, languages, etc.) indicating that cannabis is one of mankind’s oldest cultivated crops. The weaving of hemp fiber as an industry began 10,000 years ago, at approximately the same time as pottery making and prior to metal working.By the 27th Century B.C.E., the Chinese cultivated Ma (cannabis hemp) for fiber, medicine and herbal use. Three thousand seven hundred years later (circa 1000 A.D.), China called cannabis Tai-Ma, or great hemp, to differentiate it from the minor fiber plants, which were now grouped under the generic fiber term Ma. Their pictogram for true or great hemp is a large Man, indicating the strong relationship between man and hemp.Between 2300 B.C. And 1000 B.C.Nomadic tribes, probably from central Asia and Persia (Iran and Iraq), referred to in legend as Aryans, invaded and overran virtually the entire Mediterranean and Middle East and spread out over the Caucasus and west into Europe. In the course of these movements and invasions, the nomads introduced cannabis and its various uses north and west through Greece, Europe, the Middle East, to Egypt and Africa, as well as south and east over the Himalayas to India.Hemp was incorporated into the cultures of the Middle East and India for its vast food, oil, fiber, medicinal and drug uses. Not only was hemp a staple of everyday life; hemp medicines and drugs were a ritual link to the gods.Hemp And The ScytheCannabis was undoubtedly used by the Scythians for many reasons. For example, the ancient Scythians grew hemp and harvested it with a hand reaper that we still call a scythe.Cannabis inhalation by the Scythians in funeral rituals was recorded by the Greek historian Herodotus in the early 5th Century B.C.E. The nomadic Scythians introduced the custom to other races such as the Thracians.Thread Of CivilizationFrom at least the 27th Century B.C.E. until this century, cannabis was incorporated into virtually all the cultures of the Middle East, Asia Minor, India, China, Japan, Europe, and Africa for its superior fiber, medicines, oils, food and for its meditative, euphoric, and relaxational uses.Hemp was one of our ancestors’ most important overall industries, along with toolmaking, animal husbandry and farming.Hemp To Enforce The LawThe hemp plant has had a curious relationship with the world’s legal codes throughout the ages. As noted before, it has been legal to grow hemp at different times. But hemp has also played a direct role in law enforcement. For example, the most serious punishment/rehabilitation meted out in many African tribes for capital crimes was forcing the transgressor to smoke or consume massive amounts of cannabis non-stop for hours on end in a small, enclosed hut until he passes out - literally unconscious from inhaling the fumes. The equivalent of a year or two’s supply for a heavy American smoker is consumed in just an hour or so. Does it work? African users say the rate of repeat criminal offenses after dagga treatment is virtually non-existent.European and American cultures used hemp to enforce their laws in a more terminal form of capital punishment: the hangman’s noose of hempen rope.Cannabis Herbal MedicinesThe secret art of hemp medicine was found effective as a wound healer, muscle relaxant, pain reliever, fever reducer and an unparalleled aid to childbirth, not to mention hundreds of other medicinal applications. The division of information about this sacred herb and its industrial hemp uses were strictly maintained by the priests for thousands of years, until the last few centuries. Those outside the priestly class who possessed drug knowledge were considered (by the priests, of course) to be witches/soothsayers/outlaws, and were often condemned to death. The Mystic PhilosophersCannabis legend and consumption are fundamental aspects of many of the world’s great religions. For example:SHINTOISM (Japan) - Cannabis was used for the binding together of married couples, to drive away evil spirits, and was thought to create laughter and happiness in marriage.HINDUISM (India) - The God Shiva is said to have brought cannabis from the Himalayas for human enjoyment and enlightenment. The Sadhu Priests travel throughout India and the world sharing chillum pipes filled with cannabis, sometimes blended with other substances. In the Bhagavad-gita, Krishna states, I am the healing herb (Ch.9:16), while the Bhagarat-purana Fifth Canto describes hashish in explicitly sexual terms.BUDDHISM (Tibet, India and China) - from the 5th Century B.C.E. on - ritually used cannabis; initiation rites and mystical experiences were (are) common in many Chinese Buddhist sects. Some Tibetan Buddhists and lamas (priests) consider cannabis their most holy plant. Many Buddhist traditions, writings, and beliefs indicate that Siddhartha (the Buddha) himself, used and ate nothing but hemp and its seeds for six years prior to announcing (discovering) his truths and becoming the Buddha (Four Noble Truths, the Eightfold Path).Regarding the ZOROASTRIANS or Magi (Persia, circa 8th to 7th Centuries B.C. to 3rd to 4th Centuries A.D.), it is widely believed by many Christian scholars, commentators, etc., that the three Magi or Wise Men who attended the birth of Christ were cult references to the Zoroastrians. The Zoroastrian religion was based (at least on the surface) on the entire cannabis plant, the chief religious sacrament of its priest class, and its most important medicine, (e.g., obstetrics, incense rites, anointing and christening oils), as well as lighting of fire oils in their secular world. The word magic is generally considered derived from the Zoroastrians - Magi. The ESSENES (ancient Israeli sect of extreme Hebrewites, approx. 200 B.C. to 73 A.D.) - used hemp medicinally, as did the THERAPUTEA (Egypt), from whom we get the term therapeutic. Both are believed by some scholars to be disciples of, or in a brotherhood with, the priests/magicians of the Zoroastrians.EARLY JEWS - As part of their holy Friday night services in the Temple of Solomon, 60-80,000 men ritually passed around and inhaled 20,000 incense burners filled with kanabosom (cannabis), before returning home for the largest meal of the week (munchies?).SUFIS OF ISLAM (Middle East) - Moslem mystical priests who have taught, used and extolled cannabis for divine revelation, insight and oneness with Allah, for at least the last 1,000 years. Many Moslem and world scholars believe the mysticism of the Sufi Priests was actually that of the Zoroastrians who survived Moslem conquests of the 7th and 8th Centuries A.D. and subsequent conversion (change your religion and give up liquor or be beheaded).COPTIC CHRISTIAN (Egypt/Ethiopia) - Some sects believe the sacred green herb of the field in the Bible (I will raise up for them a plant of renown, and they shall be no more consumed with hunger in the land, neither bear the shame of the heathen any more Ezekiel 34:29) and the Biblical secret incenses, sweet incenses and anointing oils to be cannabis. The RASTAFARIANS (Jamaica and elsewhere) are a contemporary religious sect that uses ganja as its sacred sacrament to communicate with God (Jah).Natural MindUnited States government funded studies at St. Louis University Medical School in 1989, and the U.S.Government’s National Institute of Mental Health in 1990, moved cannabis research into a new realm by confirming that the human brain has receptor sites for THC and its natural cannabis cousins to which no other compounds known thus far will bind.In order for a chemical to affect the brain it must bind to a receptor site capable of receiving it.Although morphine fits the receptor sites of beta-endorphin roughly, and amphetamines correspond loosely to dopamine, these drugs, as well as tricyclics and other mood-altering drugs, present grave danger to the subtle balance of the nerves’ vital fluids.Omni and the Washington Post cited no physical dangers in natural cannabis. One reason cannabis is so safe to use is that it does not affect any of the involuntary muscles of breathing and life support.Rather, it affects its own specific receptor cites for motion (movement strategy) and memory (mental strategies). On the molecular level, THC fits into receptor sites in the upper brain that seem to be uniquely designed to accommodate THC. This points to an ancient symbiosis between the plant and people.Perhaps these neuronal pathways are the product of a precultural relationship between man and cannabis.Carl Sagan proposed evidence using the Bushmen of Africa to show hemp to have been the first plant cultivated by man, dating to when he was a hunter-gatherer.Some scientists assume that these receptor sites did not evolve for the purpose of getting high: There must be some kind of neuronal pathway in the brain that developed, whether there were cannabis plants or not, speculated mystified St. Louis University pharmacology professor Allyn Howlett in 1989.But, maybe not. In his book Intoxication: Life in Pursuit of Artificial Paradise, Dr. Ronald K. Siegel, psychopharmacologist at UCLA, indicates the motivation to achieve altered states of consciousness or moods is a fourth drive akin to hunger, thirst and sex.Siegel recorded numerous observations of animals intentionally getting intoxicated during his experiments.Cannabis hemp is part of our cultural, spiritual and physiological heritage, and was the backbone of our most stable and long-surviving cultures. So, if you want to know or see the long-term effects of marijuana use...look in the mirror!Cloaked In SecrecyThe dawn or basis of religious beliefs in all races and peoples - Japanese, Chinese, Indian, Egyptian, Persian, Babylonian, Greek, Doric, Germanic and other European tribes, as well as African and North, South and Central American tribes - arose as a result of accidental discoveries. There were near-death experiences, deprivations - starvation, fasting, breath control, thirst, fever - and uncontrolled revelry due to accidental fermentation or extraction of wine, beer, psilocybe and Amanita Muscaria mushrooms, cannabis wine (bhang) and other psychoactives which, when consumed, induced inexplicable, elevated experiences (compared to normal brutish experience).Chemicals in these sacred plants and herbs gave our ancestors unexpected, unprepared for, unbelievable visions and journeys into the far corners of incredible consciousness and, sometimes into feelings of universal brotherhood.Understanding these drug induced experiences and medications eventually became the most wondrous, desirable and necessary spiritual knowledge for each tribe. Healing! From which extraction? At what dose?Holding this mystical tribal knowledge for future generations was a priceless task. To know which plants induced which experiences, at what levels and mixtures, meant power for the bearer of such wisdom! Thus, this sacred store of knowledge was jealously guarded by the herbal doctor/priest, and cryptically encoded in oral and written traditions and myths.Plants with psychoactive powers were imbued with human or animal attributes, for example, the Amanita Muscaria mushrooms ring was represented by faeries. To keep their political power, the priests, witch doctors and medicine men deliberately withheld these traditions from the common tribal members (and all other tribes). This also prevented the dangerous sin of accidental ingestion, concoction, or experimentation by the children of the tribe; nor could captured tribal members give up this sacred knowledge to their enemies. These old-time drug and out-of-body religions and rituals, dating back to pre-history, were called Oriental Mystery Religions by the Romans from the Caesars’ time on.Judaic LineHemp was a major industry in biblical times. As in other cultures throughout the Middle East, the Hebrew tradition of mysticism (e.g., Cabala) was aware of, and entwined with, regional sects using natural intoxicants in their rituals. As usual, they hid this knowledge behind rituals, symbols and secret codes to protect natural herbs, including cannabis. What Does The Bible Say?Finding the encoded references to cannabis and other drugs is made more difficult by the lack of botanical names, discrepancy in translations, use of different books by different denominations, commentaries added to original texts, and periodic priestly purges of material considered inappropriate. However, we find that the use of cannabis is never forbidden or even discouraged in the Bible. Some passages directly refer to the goodness of using herbs like cannabis - and even go on to predict prohibition. And the Earth brought forth grass and herb yielding seed after its kind and the tree yielding fruit, whose seed was in itself after its kind: and God saw that it was good. Genesis: Chapter 1: Verse 12 (King James Version of the Bible, unless noted).God makes the Earth yield healing herbs, which the prudent man should not neglect. Sirach:38:4 (Catholic Bible). Not that which goeth into the mouth defileth a man; That which cometh out of the mouth defileth a man. Jesus, quoted: Matt. 15:11In later times, some shall...speak lies in hypocrisy...commanding to abstain from that which God hath created to be received with thanksgiving of them which believe and know the truth. Paul: 1 Tim. 4:1Early ChristianityHistorians, early artworks, Bibles, manuscripts, Dead Sea Scrolls, Gnostic Gospels, letters from early church fathers, etc., indicate that for the first 300-400 years A.D., many early Christian sects were gentle and loving. They were usually open, tolerant and unstructured; a poor man’s or slave’s religion.Rome considered Christianity to be simply another bothersome Oriental Mystery Cult, like those of Mithra or Isis, then the most popular in the Empire. The Holy Roman EmpireFaced with a crumbling empire, political corruption and a series of ruinous wars with barbarians, the old Roman Empire hovered on the brink of disaster. The religious contortions undertaken by the ruling body in Rome to maintain its earthly power led the political leaders to crack down on healthy diversity in the field of individual cults and religions. To save itself politically, the formerly pantheistic (meaning tolerant of different worships) government of the empire changed its policy.Starting in 249 A.D., various emperors launched a string of bloody persecutions, which included the troublesome Christians. By 306 A.D., it was clear that this was not working.Emperor Constantine called off the executions and began to patronize the Christian clergy, which promptly adopted a dogma lifted from Mithraism, among other religions: Royal Blood by Birth, or the Divine Right to Rule Other Humans. The ambitious Constantine saw that while underground, the church had developed into an intolerant, tightly-knit hierarchy; a well organized network second in influence only to his own.By combining church and state, each was able to double its power and seek out the crimes/sins of all its political rivals and enemies with the full support/blessing of the other.Constantine soon converted to Christianity and declared one mandatory, monistic, state-empowered religion: the Roman Catholic Church; literally, the Roman Universal Church (catholic is Latin for universal). This was now the absolute and official religion of the empire. In one sweep, all secret societies were outlawed which might have threatened his (and Rome’s) mandate to rule the known world, as they had for the previous 400 consecutive years.Church/State AristocracyAfter running from the Roman Empire’s police for almost 300 years, Christian Orthodox priests had become their bosses. Starting in the 4th, 5th, and 6th Centuries A.D., pagan religions and all the different Christian sects, belief systems, knowledge, gospels, etc., such as the Essenes, Gnostics, and Merovingians (Franks), were either incorporated into or edited out of official doctrine and hierarchy. Finally, in a series of councils, all contrary dogmas (e.g., that the Earth was round, and the sun and stars were more than five to 17 miles away) were summarily outlawed and driven underground during the Dark Ages, 400-1000+ A.D.By the early Middle Ages, at the beginning of the 11th Century A.D., virtually all powers were placed in the hands of the Church and Pope; first by Germanic conquerors, and later by Spanish and French kings and powerful Italian merchants and nobles (the Borgias, Medicis and other megalomaniacs), probably to protect their trade secrets, alliances and sources of wealth. All European people were forced to adhere to the Holy Roman Empire policy: zero tolerance by a fundamentalist church/police-state with blind faith in one, unquestioned version of how to worship God...and the Pope’s infallibility.Political rulers aided and abetted the Church in this fraud, as their power now rested only on their new Christian dogma, the patriarchal Divine Right to rule. They enacted laws with fantastically vicious punishments for even the slightest infraction or heresy. Heretics were mercilessly sought out by fanatical, sadistic inquisitors using perverted forms of torture to extract confessions and as punishment. This system kept most of the Western world’s inhabitants in a state of constant terror, not only for their own physical safety and freedom but also for their eternal spirit, with Hell lurking mere inches below the surface for those excommunicated by the church. The Politics Of PaperThe masses of people, the commons, were kept in check through a dual system of fear and enforced ignorance. All learning, except the most rudimentary, was controlled and strictly regulated by the priests. The commons (about 95% of the people) were forbidden to learn to read or write - not even an alphabet - and often were punished or put to death for doing so.The people were also forbidden to learn Latin, the language of the Bible. This effectively enabled the few priests who could read to interpret the scriptures any way they pleased for about 1,200 years, until the Reformation in Europe, circa 1600.To prohibit knowledge, people were literally kept in the dark, without a piece of paper to write on. The monasteries preserved and guarded hemp’s secrets. They saw that cannabis held two threats to this policy of absolute control: papermaking and lamp oil.Something had to be done.Cannabis Medicines ForbiddenWhile embracing wine as a sacrament, and tolerating beer and hard liquor, the Inquisition outlawed cannabis ingestion in Spain in the 12th Century, and France in the 13th.Many other natural remedies were simultaneously banned. Anyone using hemp to communicate, heal, etc. was labeled witch.Saint Joan of Arc, for example, was accused in 1430-31 of using a variety of herbal witch drugs, including cannabis, to hear voices.Church Sanctioned Legal MedicinesVirtually the only legal medical cures allowed the people of Western Europe by the Roman Catholic Church Fathers at this time were:Wearing a bird mask for plague.Setting fractured bones or cleaning burns.Bleeding pints and even quarts of blood from all flu, pneumonia or fever patients (victims) which was the most used treatment in Europe and America by doctors until the beginning of the 1900s. It does not work! And did not work no matter how much blood they took.Praying to specific saints for a miraculous cure, e.g., St. Anthony for ergotism (poisoning), St. Odilla for blindness, St. Benedict for poison sufferers, and St. Vitus for comedians and epileptics.Alcohol for a variety of problems. In 1484, Pope Innocent VIII singled out cannabis healers and other herbalists, proclaiming hemp an unholy sacrament of the second and third types of Satanic mass. This persecution lasted for more than 150 years.Satanic knowledge and masses, according to the Medieval Church, came in three types:To summon or worship Satan. To have witch’s knowledge (e.g., herbalists or chemists) of making, using or giving others any unguent or preparation - including cannabis - as medicine or as a spiritual sacrament. The Mass of the Travesty, which can be likened to the Simpsons, In Living Color, rap music, Mel Brooks, Second City-TV, Monty Python, or Saturday Night Live (Father Guido Sarducci-type group) doing irreverent, farcical or satirical take-offs on the dogmas, doctrines, indulgences, and rituals of the R.C.Ch. mass and/or its absolute beliefs.Because medieval priest bureaucrats thought they were sometimes laughed at, ridiculed and scorned by those under their influence - often by the most learned monks, clerics and leading citizens - ingesting cannabis was proclaimed heretical and Satanic.ContradictionsDespite this centuries-long attack by the most powerful political and religious force in Western civilization, hemp cultivation continued in Northern Europe, Africa and Asia. While the church persecuted cannabis users in Europe, the Spanish Conquistadors were busy planting hemp everywhere around the world to provide sails, rope, oakum, clothes, etc.Yet, Hemp EnduredThe sadistic Ottoman Empire conquered Egypt and, in the 16th Century A.D., tried to outlaw cannabis - because Egyptian hemp growers along the Nile were leading tax revolts. The Turks complained that cannabis use caused Egyptians to laugh and be disrespectful to their Sultan and his representatives. In 1868, Egypt became the first modern country to outlaw cannabis ingestion, followed in 1910 by white South Africa to punish and stop the blacks practicing their ancient Dagga cults and religions. In Europe, hemp was widely used both industrially and medicinally, from the Black Sea (Crimean) to the British Isles, especially in Eastern Europe. The papal ban on cannabis medicines in the Holy Roman Empire in 1484 was quite unenforceable north of the Alps, and to this day the Romanians, Czechs, Hungarians, and Russians dominate world cannabis agronomy. In Ireland, already world famous for its cannabis linen, the Irish woman who wanted to know whom she would eventually marry was advised to seek revelation through cannabis.Eventually, the hemp trades once again became so important to the empire builders who followed (in the Age of Discovery/Reason, the 14th to 18th Centuries) that they were central to the intrigues and maneuverings of all the world’s great powers. The Age Of EnlightenmentThe 18th Century ushered in a new era of human thought and civilization. Life, Liberty and the Pursuit of Happiness! declared the colonists in America. Liberty, Equality, Fraternity! replied their French cousins. The concepts of modern constitutional government, which guaranteed human rights and separation of church and state, were unified into a policy designed to protect citizens from intolerant and arbitrary laws.In his landmark essay, On Liberty, Ogden Livingston Mills, whose philosophy shaped our democracy, wrote that Human liberty comprises, first, the inward domain of consciousness in the most comprehensive sense: liberty of thought and feeling, ...scientific, moral or theological, ...liberty of tastes and pursuits.Mills asserted that this freedom of thought or of mind is the basis for all freedoms. Gentleman farmer Thomas Jefferson’s immortal words, I have sworn upon the altar of God eternal hostility against every form of tyranny over the mind of man, are engraved into the marble of his Memorial in Washington D.C.Abraham Lincoln was an avowed enemy of prohibition. His wife was prescribed cannabis for her nerves after his assassination. Virtually every president from the mid-19th Century until prohibition routinely used cannabis medicines.Close acquaintances of John F. Kennedy, such as entertainers Morey Amsterdam and Eddie Gordon, say the president used cannabis regularly to control his back pain (before and during his term) and actually planned on legalizing marijuana during his second term - a plan cut short by his assassination in 1963.More recently, former President Gerald Ford’s son, Jack, and Jimmy Carter’s son, Chip, admit to having smoked pot in the White House. George Bush’s Vice President, Dan Quayle, had a reputation for smoking grass and using drugs in college.Ronald, and even former First Lady Nancy Just Say No Reagan, are reported to have smoked pot in the California Governor’s mansion.Thomas Jefferson’s ComparisonThomas Jefferson wrote and acted on behalf of hemp many times, smuggling rare seeds into America, redesigning the hemp brake, and keeping his farm and garden journals in which, on March 16, 1791, he wrote:The culture [of tobacco] is pernicious. This plant greatly exhausts the soil. Of course, it requires much manure, therefore other productions are deprived of manure, yielding no nourishment for cattle, there is no return for the manure expended...It is impolitic. The fact well established in the system of agriculture is that the best hemp and the best tobacco grow on the same kind of soil. The former article is of first necessity to the commerce and marine, in other words to the wealth and protection of the country. The latter, never useful and sometimes pernicious, derives its estimation from caprice, and its value from the taxes to which it was formerly exposed. The preference to be given will result from a comparison of them: Hemp employs in its rudest state more labor than tobacco, but being a material for manufactures of various sorts, becomes afterwards the means of support to numbers of people, hence it is to be preferred in a populous country.America imports hemp and will continue to do so, and also sundry articles made of hemp, such as cordage, sail cloth, drilling linen and stockings...Economics: The Very Model Of A Modern InquisitionFor cannabis-related knowledge, or hundreds of other sins - owning a devil’s tool (dinner fork), reading a sorcerer’s book or speaking in tongues (foreign language), having a different faith, having the witch’s habit (taking a bath or falling into a river), etc. - from 10% to as many as 50% of the people in Western Europe were tortured or put to death without trial during the medieval Roman Catholic Church’s 500-year Inquisition (12th to 17th centuries). While most suffered, some profited handsomely. The Pope could declare anything heresy, and use it as an excuse to legally rob, torture and kill his enemies or anyone else accused. For over 300 years, inquisitors divided up the property forfeited to them by suspected witches and heretics. Whoever denounced you got 1/3 of your property, 1/3 went to the government, and 1/3 went to the Papal hierarchy.Beware the scribes which...devour widow’s houses. Jesus, quoted: Luke 20:46This perverted prosecution-for-profit model, used almost exactly in the same way today by state and federal drug warriors - and just as self-righteously, was given to us at the insistence of president Ronald Reagan in 1984 and was written for Congress by then Congressman Dan Lungren, former California Attorney General. In actuality, once the government seizes a property, more than 90% are never returned by the courts. Everyone from informant, to the police and the prosecutor now share in the bounty of forfeited goods. In fact, while British common law is the basis for our modern legal system, forfeiture law relies on the medieval concept of the cursed object deodand (from the latin deo god, and dand give; meaning that any object causing human death was forfeited to the crown.) This is the basis for American laws of seizure and confiscation of property, rather than penalties only against persons. Why? Simple. People have guaranteed legal rights; property does not!

Entheo Genius ( Another Hemp Post)

The smoking of marijuana initiates many processes in the body, mind and even soul, depending upon the intent with which it is used. In Part 1 many of these were mentioned in passing, and will be explored in some detail in this issue. It is very important for people to understand that marijuana, like other teacher plants, is properly called an “entheogen” or “agent in God’, as a psychoactive substance with spiritual properties. This may surprise most smokers to hear, but it is true nonetheless. It is a fact that when marijuana is smoked with the right intent, (a progressive, spiritual focus) that it can raise the user up to higher levels of consciousness. Among the effects of its’ consciousness expanding properties, the following are very notable;;1) A gaining of “chi” or energy in the physical body and aura.2) The raising of vibration according to the potency and vibration of the buds smoked.3) A crystallization of awareness upon itself, or put another way, greater clarity.4) An opening of the chakras and an enhancement of personal psychic power. Not only is “ESP” increased, but so are the intuitive powers of foresight, creativity and inventiveness.5) An aid to getting into better alignment with one’s own soul, Nature and God.6) Provides a common high vibration when smoked by more than one person at a time, allowing enhanced, group psychic rapport, (group mind in the high).Like all other entheogens, marijuana is properly considered a meditational and/or prayer aid, which allows the user many unique opportunities to grow and gain personal power. As a matter of fact, this herbs’ full potential cannot be fully accessed unless a serious and focused practice of meditation is employed, while both in and out of the high. I recommend using the World Mind Society’s basic “Chakra Meditation” (see the Library at http://www.eoni.com/~visionquest) in conjunction with the smoke. This fundamental inner focus will allow you much greater access to the powers and advantages listed above. It will also make the high much higher than it would normally go, while using less smoke to get there. The key factor here is what we INTEND while in the high. Intent is what we make every decision with, and it is also the key ingredient of the true self, (consciousness/soul). Before taking a puff, we should be at least basically clear about what the intention will be in the use of the smoke. I recommend two primary intentions in this regard to start. One is “energy gaining” and the other is “vibration raising”. Each of these is individually powerful, but when combined, they are extremely potent for consciousness expansion/spiritual progress. The gaining of greater energy and vibration allows the smoker to then accomplish other spiritual feats, both internally and externally. They provide the “basic building blocks” or MEANS by which other focuses can be manifest. All of this takes serious inner work, just like any other spiritual path. Please remember that although marijuana can greatly help you, it cannot do the essential inner work necessary for your spiritual growth. YOU have to decide to make that progress with dedication, and then actually LIVE OUT those changes in daily life. Remember also that any REAL shift of intent that has lasting value, is accompanied by a corresponding shift of inner state and outer action. The real challenge is not in getting extremely high, but in stabilizing such states both body-wide and socially, so that they are made PERMANENT.The basic principle of natural law behind these words is;The mastery of intent is the mastery of life.***1) The Gaining of ChiIn China, life energy is known as “Chi”, in Japan it is called, “Ki”, in India, “Prana” and “Kundalini” In the West it has been called, “orgone” and, “negatively charged ions”. There are other names used around the world for this universal energy, referred to frequently in various martial arts and healing systems, such as “Reiki”, “Tai chi”, “Pranayama”, “Kigong”, various yogas, and others. When marijuana is smoked, it opens the chakras and raises your vibration. This acts to increase energy flow into the users’ physical and energetic bodies.Chi is gained normally with each in-breath that we take. It accounts largely for the degree to which we feel either vitalized or tired. Standing in running water such as an ocean surf, stream or river, and even a common shower, acts to restore a measure of one’s chi when tired, which is why doing these activities feels refreshing. The same can be done via the wind and through direct sunlight. Everything we are as physical bodies, and everything in nature is composed of subatomic particles. The flow of electrons makes all of our electronic and electrical devices work, not to mention our own nervous systems. We’re surrounded by a sea of subatomic particles, which particle physics refers to as “fields” of energy. This it ultimately calls, as a sum total, “The Unified Field”. Unified Field physics was first introduced to Western science by Albert Einstein, and yet this area of study was common knowledge in ancient India some 7-10 thousand years ago, due to their direct perception of it’s reality. We too, can directly perceive the reality of the Unified Field through meditation, reflecting the truth of such statements as “we are all one”. The flow of subatomic particles also accounts largely for our shared, felt emotions with one another, an ability commonly known as “sharing vibes” or as “mutual psychic effects”. When we smoke marijuana or take other entheogens, these psychic, energetic streams of energy are enhanced from person to person, thereby allowing us greater opportunity to “commune” with one another, even at the level of soul to soul. A “contact high” is just such an example, one that can be mutually raised for mutual benefits. There will be more on this later. Therefore, chi can be best understood by the Western mind as the flow of particles both into and out of our being, much like that of any electrical system. There is some measure of chi in anything physical, but it’s presence is particularly marked in living things. The basis of molecules is the atom. The basis for the atom is the electron and proton. The basis of these particles are even smaller elements of matter until we reach a level of existence that is pure energy, (chi). Our own bodies are chi and vibration transceivers, just as a transceiving radio both sends and receives signals. Each part of our body in fact, sends out and receives energy from the environment, which is then received most readily by the corresponding body part(s) in other people. This fact is due to the principle of resonance, and is particularly noticeable in chakra to chakra interpersonal relations. We live as very permeable beings that are naturally sensitive to our environment, and this is primarily registered in terms of feeling. Because of our energetic permeability, we can be easily influenced by the feelings of others or by fields of energy at large. Wild places like forests and other areas where living things abound, are ideal places to restore our chi. Cities generally deplete our supply of this vital energy, especially in those areas where few trees are planted. It is wise then, to smoke marijuana in natural areas whenever possible, so as to enhance the availability of chi when it is drawn into the body during the high. What to Do;After taking a puff, focus on your energy level. One of the first things you’ll notice is that it increases after smoking marijuana, especially if you smoke in an environment that is filled with chi, such as woods, beach or other wild area. Stay focused on your energy level while in the high. First, observe your, “starting energy level” after the first puff. Then imagine, in terms of feeling, what “one level of energy higher” than that would be/feel like. Intend this superior level of energy body-wide by staying focused upon it, and simply “moving” your state, (of consciousness) there. INTENT is always the key in changing our consciousness, as well as doing anything in the physical realm. Experiment with your intent in the gaining of chi. Notice what works and what does not. Remember that in any inner work, self knowledge is key.For more advanced instructions, see the WMS, ‘Chi Gaining Meditation” at http://www.eoni.com/~visionquestThe high acts to draw environmental energy into the body like a magnet. Although this process is automatic to some degree, it can be consciously increased if we help it along, to astonishing levels of vitality. In various advanced martial arts and meditational regimens like yoga, the practitioner is taught to draw chi into themselves for the sake of greater fitness, fighting ability, alertness and spiritual realization. Many have become adept at the drawing of this energy from the environment, accounting largely for their extraordinary feats of strength, endurance and spiritual insight. The high of marijuana allows an opportunity to learn this ability at an accelerated rate.2) The Raising of VibrationPerhaps the most obvious of marijuanas’ effects is the vibrational quality of the smoke known as, “the high”. Remember that when we speak of “high” in this context, we literally mean “a high frequency” of being, just as the UHF radio band is of a higher frequency than is FM. The high has a literal and very relevant reality to the quality of our lives, and in fact all life on this planet. Marijuana is thus properly known as a, “priceless gift of nature” to humanity. The high is a sacred thing, and shares many properties with that state of being known as “love” as well as sexual pleasure. For this reason it has been widely used as an aphrodesiac throughout much of recorded history, but it has also been used for an even higher and more satisfying purpose…that of raising one’s entire vibrational level of consciousness. What to Do;Upon inhalation of a puff, focus on the feelings of the high itself throughout the body, rather than the usual stream of thoughts. This in itself will tend to amplify the vibrational level of your state of consciousness. . Learn about the high by observing the feelings of it closely, body-wide. You’ll soon realize that the high can be raised at will, by using your INTENT. Intend that the high get progressively higher by degrees. Initially observe the “starting high” after the first puff. Then imagine in terms of feeling, what “one step higher”, (in feeling) would be like. Intend this superior level of high body-wide by staying focused upon it, and simply “moving” your state, (of consciousness) there. The high, just like any other state of consciousness can be consciously shifted according to desire and ability. The high of marijuana can be made progressively higher and higher at will, and without known limits. It can therefore be doubled, tripled, or quadrupled as a matter of progressive intent. The main limit on this is our own self imposed fears which tend to say, “Should we really be this high?” and “How will I relate to others if I stay in such a state?” We’ll talk about those things later in this series.Let’s be very clear about the fact that when the word “vibration” is used in the context of consciousness, it refers to the “pitch” of feeling we’re holding at any given moment. Low feelings are rightly understood as being of low vibration, (such as depression) while high feelings are accurately referred to as being or “higher vibration”, (such as those states such as happiness, elation, “peak” experiences”, joy, orgasm, etc.). It is not at all difficult for even the beginning smoker to clearly feel the fact that smoked marijuana is of a high vibration. In Chinese medicine, all foods and herbs are known to have their characteristic vibration, which when ingested, impart that aspect to some degree to the body. This is only part of the reason that foods and herbs are viewed by such healing systems as “medicines” and not just nutrition. Marijuana is no exception to this rule, and is a supreme spiritual, mental and physical medicine when used with the right intent.“Vibration”, like “chi” is a term that refers to something real and concrete, not mystical and unknowable. Most things spiritual are often misperceived as mysterious, when in fact true spirituality is very real, matter of fact and practical.. In terms of a scientific understanding, physics describes vibration as the number of oscillations per second, (Hertz) that an energetic system is moving at. In essence, vibration is synonymous with frequency, and in terms of the experienced high, with “feeling pitch or level”. Therefore, the high of marijuana can be better understood as high vibration = high frequency = high feelings. The feelings we experience with the high are truly of a high vibration, and the advantages of this are more profound than just the upliftment of mood. They include better health, increased energy, higher manifest intelligence, (yes, when you feel good you can think better) greater wisdom, (since we’re more motivated to apply truth to our lives, due to the inspirational aspect of the high) greater body-mind-soul alignment, etc.The high of marijuana is a sacred and formidably useful herbal tool, for the accomplishment of many things. Foremost among these is the expansion of consciousness. Though this may sound like an indefinable or mysterious statement to the Western mind, it is a very concrete and real thing with great advantages, for the individual who accomplishes it. Consciousness expands by degrees, and when this has happened enough times a person is said to have, “attained enlightenment”. Consciousness is expanded by raising one’s level of personal energy and vibration, (we’ve talked about these briefly) as well as through increased clarity, through right intent/right action, “right alignment”. and by what is called “expansion” by the WMS literature, (See The Perpetual Raising series in our Library as supplemental reading). There is no “ultimate” state of consciousness or degree of enlightenment however, that can be achieved. There’s always a higher state to embody. When we use entheogens and their conscious-expanding properties, we are in essence, “traveling” states of consciousness that can afford extraordinary advantages to the meditator. Among these are increased healing powers for both yourself and others, the ability to clearly perceive what is true and what is not, enhanced ESP, the ability to direct your every-day state of mind, body and even soul at will, and a host of other benefits, to be described later in this series.By using a “progressive focus” with marijuana or other entheogens, I mean that the user, (before they ever sit down to smoke) firmly determines that the purpose of taking this sacred substance into the body is to gain personal/spiritual power. The user must also dedicate themselves in a serious and determined manner to the practice of meditation, while under the influence of any entheogen. Without these two prerequisites, the full potential of marijuana can never be realized, resulting in a degree of waste of its’ consciousness boosting properties. Marijuana should really never be used “recreationally” because it’s properties are just too powerful to play around with casually. Those who do often suffer the consequences of aggravated fear, (paranoia) confusion and even a lowered level of consciousness. Even though the Herb is a powerful spiritual tool, it must be realized by any user, that a tool, no matter how well it is made, is only as effective as the hand, (or spirit) that wields it. Play around with marijuana and you will likely accomplish little to nothing. Approach this herb with respect and a serious, focused mind, and there is little that you cannot accomplish with its’ excellent effects. Remember…Marijuana is superior, spiritual medicine.

Hemp – The Perfect Brain Health Food?

Few natural food sources have withered as much confusion, controversy and misinformation (and lack of information) as hemp – which is unfortunate, and even ironic, given that it is one of the world’s most perfect foods.Actually, it goes far beyond food, as this super-plant has also been used for centuries as a wonderful source of fibers for clothing and accessories, soaps and oils, and much more. It's even rumored to be the world's "oldest food" consumed by modern man.But even despite the recent hemp boom which has hit the nutrition & supplements world over the last year, few still know just how impressive this plant is, or that it may qualify as one of the best brain health-boosting & anti-aging foods on the planet.Have you been seeing more and more health foods, snacks, nutrition bars, oils, breads and other products on the shelves with the word “hemp!” on the packaging? Protein powder that “now includes hemp greens!”, cereals with hemp seeds, hemp drink mixes, hemp bathing oils and soaps? Thanks to a recent explosion of legal hemp growing largely based in Canada (hemp has been legal to grow in Canada since 1998), a version of this plant – and more specifically, the seeds of the plant, has become what many believe to be the next revolution in health foods, based on its rather staggering nutritional profile. But before we get into exactly why hemp is such a perfect food (and specifically, a perfect brain health food), let’s clear up any misconceptions you might have regarding the hemp seeds legally sold and used in foods compared to its (illegal) other incarnation. The hemp available today in the U.S., Canada, Europe, Australia and UK is based on a naturally selected strain of the plant, cannabis sativa, which produces effectively no measurable THC, the psychoactive element in marijuana. By law, this Canadian-grown hemp must contain less than .01% THC, which means that no, you cannot get “high” from eating even large amounts of these hemp food products, including the straight seeds or ground powders. While there may still be some lingering errata with regard to trace amounts of THC showing up on drug tests in some very isolated cases in which persons consumed hemp, the analogy of someone eating a poppyseed bagel and worrying about the trace amounts of opium from the poppy seeds comes to mind.Bottom line: these hemp food products are THC-free (which is also why they are legal). So put any pot-related misinformation, stereotypes, concerns or fears aside, straighten out your friends and family on the subject, and read on about just why this plant deserves unprecedented attention when it comes to your health as you age...The nutritional profile of hemp is perhaps the biggest reason for its recent (and historical) praise as one of nature’s truly perfect foods: high in protein, rich in omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids (with an uncannily perfect ratio of omega-6-to-omega-3, almost too good to be true), rich in chlorophyll and the green plant phytonutrients like the best green leafy vegetables possess, low in carbs/sugars, high in fiber. And it tastes great, with a nutty flavor that blows away flax and soy. No soy estrogens or the other negative properties which can make soy inappropriate for some people. Did we mention the extremely high amounts (and perfect balanced profile) of essential fatty acids, which are particularly important for brain health, memory, mood, and concentration?Let’s look at some of the specifics:- Shelled hemp seed contains 33 percent pure digestible protein and is rich in iron and vitamin E as well as omega-3 and GLA. A recent report funded by the Canadian government states that hemp protein is comprised of 66 percent high-quality edistin protein, and that hempseed contains the highest percentage of this of any plant source. Hemp also contains three times the vitamin E contained in flax.- Good fats: while hemp seed is an excellent source of protein that also contains a variety of vitamins and minerals, its most important feature is that it provides both essential fatty acids (EFAs) needed in the human diet–linoleic (omega-6 fatty acid) and alpha-linolenic acid (omega-3). These fats are "essential" because they cannot be manufactured in the body and so must be consumed as food. Hemp has an omega-6/omega-3 ratio of 3.38, which is closest to the optimum 4.0 average recommended by the World Health Organization for the human diet.- Hemp for Heart Health: EFAs are essential for the health of the heart. Numerous studies showthat substituting healthy polyunsaturated fats such as hemp for saturated fats can reduce the risk of sudden cardiac arrest and fatal cardiac arrhythmia, as well as reduce blood cholesterol levels and decrease the cellular buildup in arteries associated with atherosclerosis. Hemp also contains phytosterols, which have been shown to reduce total blood cholesterol by an average of 10 percent and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) cholesterol by an average of 13 percent.- Brain health: because EFAs make up a large portion of the brain, hemp is especially beneficial for brain health, particularly memory function. Membrane loss of EFAs has been found in such disorders as Alzheimer's and Parkinson's diseases. Research has shown that a diet with a proper balance of omega-6 to omega-3 fatty acids–such as in hemp oil–may help delay or reduce the neurological effects of these diseases and improve quality of life.- Skin health: The critical importance of EFAs for healthy skin makes hemp seed oil a highly effective skin care and cosmetic product. Its lipid constituents allow it to permeate through the skin and nourish skin cells directly. For this reason, hemp oil is beneficial for skin conditions such as eczema or psoriasis. For the health of skin and hair, nourishing and balancing hemp oil is now added to a multitude of soaps, shampoos, skin lotions, lip balms, conditioners and other natural skin-care products....the list of hemp benefits goes on, and that's not even getting into the topic of how hemp is also an incredible material for clothing, materials, industrial uses, and more -- and completely bio-sustainable, eco-friendly to the planet (unlike synthetic materials). The foods, products, and what's out there: at BrainReady, we've become huge fans of hemp foods recently, and have been trying many different brands and varieties of hemp foods (always raw, organic, pure hemp however...no hybrids). Many stores now carry shelled hemp seeds, which are a great way to get your hemp -- as you can eat them straight out of the bag, mix with cereals, put into shakes, however you like. There are also hemp protein powders, which are usually ground hemp seeds concentrated into a powder to provide a high protein, fiber, and all the other benefits in a powder form that is easily mixed with liquids such as juice or water (and are great after a workout!). Then there's even "hemp milk", similar to packaged soy milk (same form factor and idea as soy milk cartons, but with hemp instead of soy), which have become our replacement for soy milk recently. There are hemp nut butters (very tasty!), and of course, hemp oils (much like flax oil).A few of our favorites that we've tried (with links):Living Harvest Raw Organic Hemp Seeds: these are wonderful eaten straight, or mixed with other cereals. Great nutty taste! Our new breakfast favorite.Living Harvest Hemp Protein Powder: the concentrated, high-protein ground hemp that has become our new post-workout recovery favorite. We mix it with water and drink, but you can also mix it with juice or other beverage if you prefer. Incredible combo of protein, EFA's, branch chain aminos, fiber, wow!Manitoba Harvest Hemp Seed Butter: this tasty stuff is our new peanut butter. Great on organic whole grain toast, on crackers, or straight!Nutiva Organic Shelled Hemp: this 5-pound bag is definitely the best, most economical way to get ultra-high quality organic hemp seed...which we use as the basis for cereals, for adding to salads, anything. Hemp is definitely something you want to buy in bulk, and this is a good way to do it particularly as most stores do NOT carry this one, so get it online.Nutiva Organic Hemp Oil: the best hemp oil we've tried, and this deal (via Amazon.com) is great because you get two bottles for the retail price of one. Hemp oil is great on toast, salads, vegetables, and yes, you can use it on your skin (save money on the expensive anti-aging skin lotioons and try hemp oil...it's incredible). In summary, hemp is an incredible brain health & anti-aging nutritional powerhouse -- but it's also so much more. Suffice to say that we've made it a dietary staple at BrainReady and are feeling better than ever.- The BrainReady Team(What do you think of the hemp explosion? Share your thoughts, questions and comments.)

Leading and Learning LifeA human being should take an interest in what he is living for.The biggest problem which can be seen nowadays in the world of human beings, is that most human beings do not try to know why they are living and what they should have to live for in their lives. We should see this as the result of human beings having abandoned themselves for greed and ignorance for a long time. Our life and the result of our life that we wish for is being ignored for darkness and unhappiness. Some people say that life is a never ending task and some people say that life is the secret which only God knows. We do not understand nor recognize the fact the pleasure of life can be found within ourselves; we do not have to live our life by throwing away the value of life. Most of us do not know about life and how to choose what we have to live for. The most important thing is to love ourselves and to create a good selves from within.Life is the whole process which exists from birth to death; individually we have the results in us through what happens in and to ourselves.Only when we know life we can see the real value of life and only when we know the real value of life can real love come out of ourselves.Unless the world of human beings can open their eyes to life, the value of life will disappear forever. When your life cannot bless itself the life is not yours anymore. The blessing for human beings is the ability that is inherent in human beings and the fact that most cannot use this ability that they have means they lost it themselves by ignorance. We should know what we know and what we are doing. All truth is appearing through as a result. When the question is wrong the result comes out wrong and only someone who understands the question can there be a good result. The most important thing that the world of human beings should know is how to accept our life and how to serve ourselves. If there is anyone who is willing to learn about life and to reveal the value of life to people then that will bring a bigger blessing than anything else.As long as our life does not change, then problems within us will not change forever and our life will never change. In order for the world of human beings to solve ignorance we have to learn things in life and when we have made ourselves open our eyes to see ourselves we can eventually keep ourselves from greed and falsehood. Life is the process from birth to death and the teaching of life will become the best teaching for us.Once again knowing life will make you obtain never-ending blessing for yourself and living without knowing life will become the biggest ignorance that you have ignored yourself.Life is an opportunity to choose which has been given to us, our life and our future can change through things in life. No matter what anyone says if we live our life without knowing life then we will be deceiving ourselves.Life is precious to everyone.Life can make anything happen to us.What exists in life produces our endless future.Life is the way to the eternal you.Through your life, you can be born as the best human whom you want or as the worst human that you will never want. Seen from all these facts, there is nothing more important than knowing life in terms of the survival of a human being.Life without understanding itself is the same thing as abandoning life.Expecting good results of life while you are living without being aware of the meaning of life is the same as waiting for a good harvest from trees you have never looked after.Being unaware of how to live is the exactly the same thing as doing something very bad to ourselves. This makes us change for the worse and causes wrong things in the world as well. Living in the state of being unaware of what results things we have will create and what effects they will have on ourselves, brings about nothing but mistakes. In the meantime, it is not so easy to know life according to most people. It is because people have the uniqueness of their own. For those who are unaware it indicates that falsehood has covered truth over.Knowing life is the way to gain oneself. Knowing life is the way to peace, happiness, eternal life, resurrection and the universe.Neglecting life or having no regard for it is giving up your whole future. In the state of abandoning future, how can you be happy and live well?If a person made a big fortune by doing something wrong with ignorant thoughts, the fortune would give that person a lot of troubles.Due to the fortune, all sorts of disputes and unhappiness can appear endlessly. Everyone is susceptible to these happenings.Through More Than One LifetimeAlthough life can be really hard and difficult (may be short and yet not) one wonders why we would want to bear and overcome it in the first place. It is because the way of our whole future (rebirths) is formulated during the process of life. If we choose to end life because of the difficulties of life, then there is no future.Even though we are going to be born again you will become much weaker and repeat the same mistakes. These are typical examples you experience due to ignorance of life.Learning the way of life, i.e. how you lead your life is the project of your life. Unless someone teaches you how to achieve it, you should not do it for yourself. Therefore, one should seek guidance when possible. However, people don't even try to recognize what the project is like let alone try to carry it out; this is the biggest problem faced by the people of today.Benevolence of a “God”?Under no circumstances, must we appeal towards any particular “object” for betterment within us or to have good things happen to us. In other words, do not seek benevolence from external “objects”.If we could obtain unexpected and incomprehensible profits by serving a "God", the happening will cause a much bigger loss.It is because offering nothing but prayer will prevent you from learning what you have to do and enlightening yourself about what exists and finally only gives you ignorance. The ignorance will perish us.It is irrational to think that only objects like "GOD" can make people change for the better or for the worse. It is yet to be proven in human history that God helps people be born again, or go to heaven, and enlighten themselves. The evidence has never been acquired yet.To truly know how to lead life is to know everything. The process of learning this is in itself a lifelong project that is virtually impossible to achieve in just one lifetime. It is an IDEAL that we should know how we should live so that we will be able to work hard and think only about what isn't harmful to ourselves/our lives. If so, we will ALL live well.Alas, knowing truly how to lead is not necessarily a blessing; it also can be an agony to those whose willpower is weak.Life Is a Lesson unto ItselfWhat we considered the most important during the process of learning is life.If we don't know life it is certain that you can never learn to love.If we can learn about life properly then we can live superbly. If we don’t know about life how can we lead our life? Therefore, we must always remember that life is precious. We must therefore, hold the confidence that if we lead our life well, we can make it more brilliant and bless it through endless future. The Soul in LifeIt's a universal fact that living things, as we see them grow and renew according to the foundation and environment. Trees for example thrive on fertile land and proper climate and grow/renew through fruit bearing. The human soul is also exactly the same as this.Although humans don't bear fruit, they germinate the consciousness which is inside them.In other words, they bear their soul. And when this soul dies it is revived and appears as life again. At the essence of this soul lie the things which were in ones life, just as they are.And when this soul is revived the nature inside one or what has happened to him again continues its activities. No matter how much somebody is eager to change their life, if they don't understand properly and they just go around relying on their own thoughts; they can never change their life for the better. The purpose of our living is that the very life is the source that makes us exist. Because we are doing the things that will make us exist in the future through this life, we live to the base of destiny which will influence endless future lives as well as the present life. We elevate our lives by elevating our souls. We elevate our souls through positive renewal. The Self-sacrifice “Problem”"Discovering what kind of influence a certain thing has on us, is the best teaching." In this world, certain problems can be deliberately made by humans. These good problems make good answers. But in today's society there aren't many who want to make good problems. Some self sacrifices are considered “good” problems. In the end as a consequence of solutions without problems people will be forced to continue to suffer great pain in the future and I want to point out that this is the cause which makes miserable things and which make people live their lives in Darkness!Although we were made to study, the importance of the problems has not been taught properly, so, in the end, people who can't see or know about life's problems will be living like a blind man.Once we know the things in truth, we ourselves can lead a life which we want.A lot of people are living quite a distance from happiness and peace. If we are awakened to what the truth is, we ourselves are able to get out of the wrong place. This is the way to bring glory to us!There is no greater blessing than living with a bright mind in a bright world.People who have dark minds can not see the things just in front of themselves, people who have bright mind can see things from a distance. And knowing what life is all about; is essential for us to get peace and happinessLove must be given and received with Blessings! Peace and Happiness follows.........!
