Interesting….sounds like a form of synaesthesia, with a little touch of autism and this can be as individual as the individual.

The hand movements, can also be part of this…I ‘am fluent in sign language, learned at a young age because I had a hearing prob (glue ear, low tone deafness and a prob with my Adenoids) and sometimes I use my own version of it that I used to do when I was a child, I learned that certain actions and hand shapes my mum understood, and I use them now as a kind of slang.
As for the tongue clicking, use to do this more as a child. My son is synaethesic and has Asperger’s, he often does rhythmic sequences with his hands, and clicks a lot when communicating, more so if he is stressed. He did not communicate with true coherent English until he was nearly 6, before that he spoke an odd language (and still does only now its much faster), that we as close family understood, but others did not, we use to say he was speaking alien again, and I'd do the translation.
