Silent Awareness

Step 1

 

Sit in a calm place and in a comfortable position. Close your eyes and intensely start observing your breath. No need to alter or interfere with the breath. Just breathe normally and observe how deep the breath is going inside and where it is returning from. Being aware of this breathing observation your mind would become calm and silent. Once you firmly feel that you are silently observing your breath without any other thoughts go to the next step.

 

Step2

 

Now stop observing the breathing and start observing your silence and be with it for as long as possible. When you are observing your own silence then you exist as Silent Awareness. Once silence is established breathing observation is no longer necessary and let the breathing happen on its own. If other thoughts distract the mind do not worry. Thoughts like the clouds in the sky – let them pass. Just go back to Step 1, do the breathing observation, establish the silence and come back to the Step 2 into Silent Awareness.

 

There is an universal phenomenon - EMPTINESS, which occupies ninety-nine percent of ourselves and the whole cosmos, and yet is not in our awareness. To put it into a certain perspective – modern cosmologists say that over ninety-nine percent of the cosmos is empty. Over ninety-nine percent of an atom is empty. Ninety-nine percent of existence is empty.” Emptiness is not an absence – it is a limitless presence. The zero was invented in India and it is used as the ultimate number. Zero means nothing, but it can add value to any other number. Zero is like a revelation of God, within the emptiness is silent awareness.
