Fourteen-year-old GMO protester and activist annihilates bullying TV host
Learn more:
Millionaire power broker and cable news personality Kevin O'Leary, a Canadian clone of Piers Morgan, recently had his head handed to him on a platter by a 14-year-old young woman who schooled him on the issue of unlabeled genetically modified organisms (GMOs). After making a series of arrogant and vulgar comments on the air about how GMO protesters are "stupid" and should "stop eating" in order to "get rid of them," O'Leary was publicly challenged to a debate by Rachel Parent, founder of the group, Kids Right to Know, who later exposed O'Leary on his own show as the biotechnology industry shill and bully that he truly is.
Back in May, when hundreds of thousands of protesters were gathering around the world in support of the March Against Monsanto movement, O'Leary sneered during a segment on The Lang And O'Leary Exchange about how people opposed to GMOs should all just stop eating and die. Repeatedly expressing his personal belief that he is always right about everything, O'Leary held back nothing in praising Monsanto as humanity's "hero," while at the same time decrying those who are concerned about the long-term safety of untested GMOs as "ignorant" and "stupid."
You can watch this disturbing segment with O'Leary, which aired on Canada's CBC News on May 27, 2013, here: http://www.cbc.ca
Not long after this aired, young Rachel, who has been educating the public and her peers about the dangers of GMOs since she was 12 years old, challenged O'Leary to a debate, which he accepted. But rather than tear her down and paint her as an immature child simply lashing out against something she does not fully understand, O'Leary became the butt of his own cruel joke, exposing himself as a corporate shill who will stop at nothing to defend the biotechnology industry, even if it means rehashing lies and throwing out ad hominem attacks against those with whom he disagrees.
"I want to respond to Mr. Kevin O'Leary's idiotic statement about 'stupid' people who protest against Monsanto," declared Rachel during a recent speech she gave prior to the debate. "I challenge you, Mr. O'Leary, to have me on your show next week, and if you promise not to use the word 'stupid,' then I won't use the word fascist," she added, to resounding applause and cheers.
Rachel Parent, the poster child for the future of the anti-GMO movement
Rachel's challenge was accepted, which allowed her the unique opportunity to educate viewers of The Lang and O'Leary Exchange about the fact that GMOs have never been long-term safety tested, for instance, and that genetic modification is not the same thing as hybridization. Without even having to say it herself, Rachel's calm and concise responses to O'Leary's badgering tactics even achieved an admission from O'Leary himself that the public is being used as a collective guinea pig in a massive GMO experiment with unknown consequences.
"We need a long-term study to determine if it's safe for not only our ecosystem but also for our health as well," said Rachel to O'Leary and his co-host when asked about what is needed to appropriately determine whether or not GMOs should be approved and used in the food supply. And O'Leary's response says it all.
"But Rachel, we're in a long-term study -- you're eating genetically-modified food whether you like it or not," stated O'Leary, backed up by co-host Amanda Lang who immediately added, "We are the lab rats," to which Rachel responded, "Exactly!"
You really need to watch the full interview for yourself to see O'Leary get buried and ultimately self-deflate his own pathetic arguments: http://youtube.com

Study: 'Safety assessments' on nearly all common food additives found to be manipulated by processed food industry
Posted by The Watcher on August 21, 2013 in categories Health, Research
New research published in the journal, JAMA Internal Medicine, has verified that the vast majority of the 10,000-or-so chemical additives currently allowed in food are backed only by industry-funded and supported safety assessments. And a large percentage of these have never even been submitted to the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for review, which means the general population is essentially being used as a collective guinea pig in a giant food additive safety experiment.
Between 1997 and 2012, the FDA reportedly received 451 voluntary notifications about new food additives, 100 percent of which came from individuals and groups connected in one way or another to the food industry. Rather than be accompanied by independent safety research, every single one of these new additives came with "safety data" conjured by the companies that produce them, a serious conflict of interest that apparently has become the standard rather than the exception.
Researchers from The Pew Charitable Trusts (PCT), a non-profit organization serving the public interest, decided to review data on the new food additive notification process after the Government Accountability Office (GAO), a federal watchdog agency, issued a report back in 2010 raising concerns about it. And what they found is astounding, particularly as it pertains to public health and safety.
Building upon a previous study they conducted of a similar nature, Thomas Neltner and his colleagues determined that roughly 43 percent of the 10,000 additives currently allowed in food are on the FDA's GRAS list, which means they are "generally recognized as safe." The other 57 percent, according to the data, were approved through other means, or never submitted or approved at all. And practically all of them lack independent analysis to verify their safety.
"Rules governing the chemicals that go into a tennis racket are more stringent than (rules for) the chemicals that go into our food," said Neltner regarding the findings. "At least when you put a new chemical on the market, you have to notify the EPA (Environmental Protection Agency). But there's no requirement that you notify the FDA when you make a new food additive."
Food additive companies not even required to submit GRAS requests to FDA
In order for a new food additive to be included on the GRAS list, its manufacturer is supposed to furnish the FDA with sound scientific evidence that it is actually safe, a process that obviously has its own inherent limitations and biases. But the fact of the matter is that food additive companies are not required to do this -- it is a completely voluntary process that allows the processed food industry to call the shots when it comes to food additive safety.
"In 1958, Congress gave additive manufacturers the right to decide on their own what food additives were GRAS without FDA being involved," writes Elizabeth Weise for USA Today about the scam. "Companies are not required to tell the agency when they've decided an additive is safe. If they choose to do so voluntarily, the company submits a letter to FDA outlining the scientific literature that supports its decision."
So naturally, food additive manufacturers have largely chosen to avoid the process altogether, as it really does not matter whether or not they notify the FDA about the use of new food additives. As a result, an overwhelming 99 percent of all food additives currently in use are either untested, were never submitted to the FDA at all or were submitted by industry insiders along with industry-funded safety data. In other words, the fox is guarding the hen house when it comes to food additive safety, as there is little-to-no credible oversight governing what millions of trusting Americans feed their families.

![Photo: Machiventa Melchizedek - It Is Easy to Feel Alone - Spiritualizing is a Personal and a Social Process Jun 09, 2013 - Henry Zeringue, North Idaho Teacher: Machiventa T/R: Henry Zeringue Machiventa: Greetings to you my friends, it is I, Machiventa this morning. I am pleased to be here with you to offer any help to you in terms of answering questions. [pause] I did not know if there were any available or not. All effort which is expended towards other individuals in an attempt to help with a spiritual understanding is truly admirable on your part, to take the time necessary to listen and to attempt to share thoughts on personal experiences in areas in which others are having problems. Many times it is difficult for people to truly see themselves as they are. It is necessary at times to have good friends who are not afraid to share with you their thoughts, their observations. Part of the spiritualizing process is not only a personal process but it is a social process as you yourselves are becoming more spiritually attuned and adept at addressing problems others are expressing, is an ability to hold this sacred space for others, this space of looking at things in a spiritual reference rather than a material or emotional reference. It is true that sometimes the trauma of events are experiences or situations which are tremendously overwhelming for people and it is good to have someone that you can share these thoughts with that can bring them into a greater perspective. It is easy to feel all alone, like no one really cares, like there is no help, and you feel like all is in vain, in a certain sense it becomes ever the more necessary to be a ground, a point of reference and strength for others that they don't always have to dwell in a negative space of mind all of the time, that you can help to bring an understanding and insight to help tie their boat to something more secure so that it is not out floundering on the water aimlessly. Sometimes it is tremendously tedious helping others, and if it gets very tedious it is important to remember those times in your own personal development where you were burdensome to others and you were tedious yourself in the understanding that you now have acquired. It is important to maintain decorum and respect for others as you yourselves at one time may have been burdensome to others who helped you get through tight and trying times, that may have lifted you through a period of remote darkness yourself. This whole notion that as you grow spiritually you acquire an understanding, an understanding which incorporates experience with knowledge and understanding. It is this life education that is important to share with others, that they receive a spiritual sense and reference to life situations. Sometimes in the middle of an emotional structure, an emotional process, it is very difficult to detach oneself and look at the bigger picture, why these patterns keep repeating themselves in your life, why you refuse to allow others to help you see a greater application here which could lift you out of the doldrums of bad choices, emotional indulgences, these kind of things. Be of service to these folks. They may be your friends, they may be acquaintances, they may just be your brothers or sisters but they are all God's children and in this respect you are all representatives of the spiritual family of God. For all practical purposes you are ordained to speak on spirit's behalf. The greater progress of mankind arises from the ability of mankind to understand and foresee those areas, many times, that practical life lessons can actually help others, that they may not necessarily have to go through the lesson to learn it, that they can draw upon the lessons that they already have taken and been tested in to learn. Life is teaching each and every one of you the same lesson. It is teaching you the lessons of respect, the lessons of humility, the lessons of understanding the nature of man and the nature of spirit and seeing that there is a relationship between these two phenomenon. The days you live in today are great days, for you do not have a grand tradition on this planet. What you are partaking in is a basic grass roots drive to pull spirit out of the ether and to present spirit to the world in some real and palpable form like your behavior, your understanding, your insight, in your ability to connect with others in a way in which they grow and prosper also. It is in this vein of thought that I am interested in speaking with you today, that those of you who have chosen to believe beyond all certainty of doubt, to those I address the task at hand, to become a spokesperson and a mouthpiece of spirit, of spiritual value, of spiritual behavior and spiritual living that you can discern what is best in the moment, for that moment, that all of you can grasp with the spiritual tools that you have acquired to grow in a recognition of this practice of attempting to show forth spirit, spiritual light in a world bereft of spiritual light, a world in which spiritual light becomes suspect, maybe even probable cause. Do not disqualify your certainty of these things, yet qualify your surety through your ability in furthering the distance that the light can travel. Go in peace my friends. Make peace with others. Help others find their own peace within. Help in bringing the peace that exists into its proper recognition. Just as the sculptor removes the pieces of stone that do not belong there, to reveal the sublime beauty of the figure held within the block of stone, so will you shine light on all of the darkness which must be removed to reveal the inner beauty of the light within all of you. Thank you.](https://fbcdn-sphotos-c-a.akamaihd.net/hphotos-ak-prn1/p480x480/184415_554878091214749_120607301_n.jpg)
