A fictional story about Princess Karen Sue Cantrell of the Republic of Aquitaine and her desperate search for that which she has so long been without yet finds comfort in a newly formed relationship with her daughter, Kasiutrella.Chapter OneHer full name was Karen Sue Cantrell, who in many ways represented the typical white Anglo Saxon protestant, brought up on the ideas of America and all its values which for better or for worse had been installed in her since childhood. This given her upper middle class family which through good acquaintances and savvy business deals had managed to get well connected or at least close enough to those who could change the course of her life. This being exactly what transpired in her case when her father introduced her to the man who would become her whole life, as he would go on to not only take her to wife but deliver on to her the only daughter she would ever bring in to the world. In many ways perhaps the method in which she was courted by the man whom she would marry was unnatural to say the least as she was introduced to him when her numbered years already went over the double score by two, with the intent that theirs should end in a marriage of convenience.Karen for her part regarding this perhaps forced arrangement, was never either particularly please or displeased about it for that matter, as she had come to regard such affairs as perfectly natural. This to the point of explaining it to others as well as herself that it was just another way for a couple to meet and where some did it through circumstances of fate or coincidence depending on the point of view or mutual friends she and Thomas II Grand Duke of Aquitaine had done it via her father. Of course with the ever present factor that theirs had been preplanned to end in a marriage that would end in her delivering a child on to this man, whose age at the time of their first encounter surpassed hers by 3 decades. This above all was where many argued the morality or perhaps lack of which in this what could be classified as a transaction making Karen Sue, almost like a bargaining chip for her father to get what he sought for his family, this the wealth, connections and title of a man who was living in exile from his native Republic of Aquitaine. As for Thomas, himself it was the freedom, to come and go from the United States as well as do business that his citizenship obtained by marriage to Karen Sue granted him along with a beautiful woman. She being willing to bare him a child despite her already advanced age for doing so. This being perhaps above all what he received from that which in fact to a large extent was a business transaction.Karen Sue Cantrell or “Karrie” as she was known to her friends, however in all this can not be said to have been left out of the benefits of the deal as she who basically had never had much in the way of ambition all of sudden took on the title of H.R.H. of the republic of Aquitaine. This accompanied by a husband who though not charming beyond his wealth and looks did leave her freedom to spend money without worries and a chance to develop in her chosen profession of opera singer, this despite her lack of outstanding talent which never allowed her in spite her connections to rise beyond one of many opera singers.Regarding looks, she was one whom most would label as attractive in a very plain sort of middle American way, given she had no features which could really be regarded as unattractive though none outstanding which would have made her a notable beauty, given her blue eyes and the rest of her was merely nice to look at without being extraordinary in anyway. In her physique which was short and thin however there was one thing that did stick out in the mind of most and this being her breasts which were of such a size that even allowed her to touch their most sensitive area with her own tongue. This a trick her first love interest asked her to perform, which in all truth at first even disgusted her slightly, till she could see how it excited not only those she wished to have in a sexual way but even herself.Princess Karen’s and Grand Duke Thomas’s II, was a marriage planed for business, this being a fact which they never argued though it would not have been correct for any to make the assumption; care and perhaps even love never was theirs, as they did at least at the start of their marriage share several years of tenderness. It being in those years in which they did deliver on to this world a daughter, who took from them all the beauty, as this child whom they would christen “Kasiutrella” (this the title of a poem which was one of Princess Karen’s favorite) held all the lovely features of her father while having the radiance of her mother, who though possessor of average looks held about her a certain sparkle which many detected in her daughter that lent even more to those extraordinary details of her looks, mostly derived from her father. In all honesty it can be said that the first 13 years of their marriage where like any other, as Princess Karen Sue Cantrell and her husband Grand Duke Thomas did the things most married couples did, such as enjoy a life together which included a healthy sex life apart from the quarrels and other parts that made a marriage be just that. It in many ways was hard to say weather theirs was a happy one or not but theirs was a normal marriage, which always lived with the shadow of why they had come to be in the first place.Regarding their daughter; Kasiutrella, she had grown in to a most beautiful young lady who many mistook for being much more advanced in age to the point of her mother having to constantly tell her male friends that her daughter had barely entered her teens. This in part due to how she had inherited her father’s tendency to be tall along with her mother’s over grown breast which many tended to stare at to the extent of making Kasiutrella blush while making her mother slightly jealous, that hers though still nice were no longer as firm as she could see her daughter’s were becoming.Kasiutrella, in reality was a vision of teenage beauty barely out of infancy about to turn in to a woman, and this few failed to pick up on as her hair which went down to her waist was golden as her mother’s, while her height was 180 cm. This making her just 6 cm shorter than her father, accompanied by a face that in fact many could say was an identical female copy of her fathers, who in fact was considered by many to very handsome even if his dry personality was a turn off to not only most women but generally most people. Kasiutrella in many ways was a copy of her father but it would be far from the truth to say she was also not one of her mother’s as well. This being the case since she had gained a figure similar to her mother’s that included not only her overly large breasts but the physical grace that allowed her to perform feats of athleticism which many even considered not possible for a girl, not only of her age but of any. These feats being the way she was able to play tennis, almost like a top professional along with having more strength than even most of the boys in her school, all of which leading her mother to consider getting her a trainer, who hopefully would guide her to one of the top places in the world of tennis. As for Karen and Thomas, they at this point which is also the start of our story had been married for over 15 years, and like those who had been married for such a length of time had come to the point where sexual contact was no longer what was of the utmost importance, specially since Thomas had gone past the sixty mark. This being one of the factors that led to the decline in the frequency of their sex though not the only one, as Thomas in all reality had never been one to be overly active when it came to amorous activities. Karen for her part was still in an age when her body required such attentions but had come to settle with the fact that her husband would rarely, if ever be making the kind of incursions in to her intimacy as the one that had already brought about her first and only child. As for other aspects regarding what concerns the marriage of Princess Karen and her husband, the grand duke Thomas, they despite their titles are not really what could be hailed as overly affluent, with the truth being that neither inherited either a great deal of money or even the ability to make it. Their business which they run as a couple being several clothing stores which for the most part concentrated on selling golf equipment and other sporting wear, that predominantly were expensive but sold relatively well given the reputation for quality products they had developed through out the years.Chapter TwoIt is this moment that our story picks up as we see a couple getting ready to go down to dinner in their LA home, which they share with their only daughter. Theirs is what most would consider a nice and comfortable home though not really luxurious by any means yet in a way it has that elegance which lets one see that this is a couple who does posses a certain class that places them slightly above those around them.We see Karen sitting in front of a mirror and table, brushing her long blonde hair which given her age and desire to look dignified she now a days keeps only to her shoulders. Karen on this occasion is wearing something simple which includes a pair of black cotton pants, along with a white Polo shirt, making her tanned upper body more apparent. It is as Karen fixes her hair, that we see her husband Thomas put on a dark blue summer jacket which he intends to wear with a white shirt and a pair of light brown pants, this being his favorite way of dressing on days that like this one are hot but not overly though theirs is an air-conditioned home. Karen for her part has been meaning to tell her husband about her plans to find, Kasiutrella a manager to take care of the tennis career she is planning for her daughter.Karen, once feeling her hair is exactly the way she wanted to present it on to others, turns around and says in an almost completely unemotional tone “I’ve been thinking of finding someone to guide, Kasiutrella’s career perhaps a manager, what do you think darling?”. Thomas felt his wife would be asking him a question of sorts as she during the last few weeks had been hitting, in no unclear way for their daughter to turn professional, so it was with no surprise that his wife’s question impacted on him, who still was not sure a professional tennis career was the right thing for their daughter, at such an age though he was aware that if she was going to be a professional tennis player the time definitely was at hand.“I know you have been wanting for Kasiutrella, to become professional a long time but are you sure it is what she wants?” was Thomas’s reply which he really did feel was important to be answered, for he in all truth did not want his wife’s ambitions to be what mattered but his daughter’s, specially since they were talking about her future. “You have seen her play and her coach says she shows as much promise as any of those other girls he has seen play” Karen replied looking at her husband whom she could see was finished adjusting his jacket and putting on his eau de toilet. “You know very well, that I am not talking about her ability but her willingness to play the game like a professional”, Thomas replied with some sarcasm and frustration.Karen then looking up seeing her husband slightly annoyed simply smiled as she had done so many times before as she in all reality know what her husband had meant but felt it was not something they could discuss without Kasiutrella, herself who in all fact had never really stated one way or the other weather or not she wanted to turn professional. “I know what you meant but this we have to talk over with her, don’t you think?” Karen spoke in words of softness as she leaned over and touched her husbands hand, who stood behind her.Karen for her part was not one who could be called a brilliant woman in any regards; as she did have certain charm though in the eyes of the more sophisticated hers was perhaps overly mid western American in it’s simplicity even if she never pretended to be what she was not by putting on intellectual airs. Concerning, the work she did this was an area where she also knew her limitations of not being overly creative yet she did compensate with her enthusiasm and hard work combined with discipline and modesty that let her see when the ideas of others were more suited. It was however in all this that she was one who one should not underestimate; given how she could be very convincing in her simplicity which in many ways could be taken for sincerity. All of which lending itself to creating her to be a mild success; as both the opera singer (semi retired) and part business owner she was.Sexually speaking, she in many ways was one who had been raised on the notion that it was but a part of a marriage though not the most important by any means, which in reality was the concept that a married couple not only could but should go on even if sex could not be. Regarding her case, it was not so much that sex was a problem because she was one who could manage to get by without it as she had done for so long, perhaps she to a certain extent had lost interest or had been so involved in the relationship with her husband and work that she had almost forgotten about this part of life. Of course there was the possibility that she was just waiting, even if unknown to her for that one man to spark her up again, like her first lover had done so many years ago when her age was similar to her daughter’s, specially since she was still a woman whose body was still capable of drawing attention, given the figure she still kept via working out everyday and practicing such sports as kickboxing and weightlifting.Karen Sue Cantrell was desirable to others; this there was little doubt in her mind and though she felt flattered by the attention she was almost certain it would only come from afar, as all were aware she was married and faithful to her husband. It was even strange to her how she could be playful with those around her, in the form of saying how she loved them and would send them kisses. She being almost like a child who knows not what it could arouse in somebody who desired her for her literal meaning instead of the almost coquette one she wished to present of the friendly housewife.Karen and her husband in all that was theirs had not been completely deprived of a sex life, in spite of Thomas being nearly 80 years of age as Karen in her playful ways was one to keep up his interest in the act as much as she could. This being the case when she would stroke his root under the table sometimes discretely in front of guest who had never managed to catch on to what Karen was up to. Of course Karen still being a woman capable of lust, at times went further in her attempts to arouse her husband that even lend wind to the sails of his vanity such as when she from time to time would awake him with a kiss on his male pride, though she in all truth was to shy to take it all in to her mouth. Intercourse in the traditional way had not been theirs in over ten years yet despite this Karen did manage to keep up certain thrill in their lives with regards to this as she would often bend over so her husband’s root could be what she felt through her clothes or sometimes when her bottom was bare. It would even amused her how her husband would in bed take to her breast almost as if he were back in infancy; doing likewise with his mother, though the truth is she would have preferred this attention to be delivered on to the rose of her woman. This the part of her which contrary to her believes required more of this kind of attention plus the more solid than she would ever allow herself to admit either to her husband or even to herself in private, as she in a way had become one to believe herself to be above sex. This perhaps given both her age and title which she carried with her like a badge she wanted all to see and admire. For her part it was not that she was deceiving herself that hers was a full sex life with her husband as her body had not known an orgasm in almost ten years that had not been produced by her own hand yet she was content in what was still theirs though she was all too aware it would not last very long as her husband was even loosing interest.Thomas agreed with a smile and a nod to his wife’s suggestion as they walked down to the dinner table in what was bound to be another sit down with their daughter, who was always asked to partake in their meals even if hunger did not suffice for her to eat. Formality was one thing that for the most prevailed in these evening affairs where slightly though not overly elegant attire was required from its participants which on this occasion would only include Princess Karen, Thomas and their daughter; Kasiutrella.Dinners in this residence despite not always being formal were always carried out with a certain air of pomp as that is how Princess Karen and her husband would approach the table, even when doing it solely for their own benefit. This with them always walking down the broad stairs of their two story house side by side as if doing it on a red carpet of sorts, as they made their way through their large house which like most of what surrounded them was neither overly expensive nor outstanding in any real way. As for their house, it was fashioned in what could be referred to as the typical American manner which in many ways was plain with those slight touches of European flavor in the form of small of statues on the mantle and paintings of castles which in fact were investments. On this occasion as Princess Karen and Thomas walked in to their dinning room they found their daughter; Kasiutrella already seated at the table and much to both their disapproval had already commenced on the meal of the evening. It was these details which mattered in this household as both Karen and Thomas wanted to keep a certain decorum, specially Thomas who in many ways had been forced given many circumstances to live below what he felt his position should have provided him. Kasiutrella, on this occasion had also decided to wear clothes which for the most part she was aware her parents preferred her not to wear at the table. This coming in the form of the clothes she wore to play tennis which included a short white skirt, a t-shirt of many colors along with white sox as well as her sneakers of the same color.Kasiutrella, in all reality on at that day had not had much in the way of time to get changed and showered for this meal as her parents would have wanted to; given not only that she had just finished practice at the club apart from how hungry she was to the point of not even taking in to consideration that she was doing what she knew her parents objected to.Karen and Thomas entered their dinning room to the vision of their daughter, who had already gone through her soup and was about to start on the main course which on that day would be chicken, rice and baked potatoes. It was the sight of her parents that reminded Kasiutrella, that hers should have been to wait despite her hunger being what it was from the fatigue of having to practice her serve for what on that day had seemed hours on end. Kasiutrella however was in that age which to a certain extend demanded that she question all the morality and ideas she had been raised on. This lending cause for her not to immediately apologize for her lack of courtesy which in all truth she had come to see in a different light. It being that if she was hungry and the meal was served; why then should she wait for those who were late? Of course her also arguing to herself that why did it mean so much to some to not only eat together but to start doing so at the same time. As if those who started after the rest would be at some unfair disadvantage or could not enjoy their food as much, simply because some were already further in to it than they were.It was not so much any more that Thomas minded such details, however he did feel it was always necessary to make it a point of saying something when such did occur, therefore it was with some jest that he stated “Kasiutrella, young lady I know you are hungry but you could at least try to wait for us before you commence” as he and Karen stood above her almost in judgment of her acts. “Oh, Thomas it is not like we are not late, if anything it is us who should say we are sorry for making her wait” Karen said almost trying to convince her husband it was them who were at fault. It was not that Thomas felt this was such a big issue but the truth was he was a man who had little to talk about other than such matters; given his business and details in protocol, which he never really managed to see were to a large extent a matter of interpretation with not everyone agreeing with him. This being the case as to not only how to follow its rules but ultimately what if any importance they should have in our lives.Karen and Thomas took their seats with Thomas always sitting at the head of the table as the man of the house was supposed to while his wife took his right flank, leaving their daughter the left one, which in a way made her feel as if she were constantly being looked at for points or perhaps flaws she might commit during the meal. She could even remember the days when they would eat at the table and have to sit at its opposite ends. This meaning her father would sit at one end, while her mother at the other and she in the middle; creating a distance that made conversation awkward to say the least or such it was till one day Karen herself decided that perhaps it would be better to sit down together as a family and forget the ways of the wealthy.Kasiutrella, in all reality was not one to revel against authority let alone her parents however she did have her views on many subjects which contrary to before she was more than willing to have known. “I never understand why it bothers people that somebody does not wait to start dinner, with them as if they could not do it after the other person has already started, will their food taste any worse? It is like a race where the point is to start all together and if one does so first it is cheating? I mean what is the significance of that specially if some arrive before I mean I understand it if we are all sitting together and somebody starts before the rest have been served but when a person starts before someone who has not even arrived at the table” Kasiutrella spoke with a certain air of pride as if she felt hers had been a winning argument which gave her cause for certain smugness.Karen seeing that Kasiutrella had made her point did not see the need to continue with the same argument therefore interjected with what many knew to be her sense of calm that almost never went in to passion, though did not always include reason “Ok, that is enough young lady, you have made your point now may we please drop the subject?”. Karen’s smile could convince more than her words and on this occasion it was just this which led talk to another subject, as Thomas was not really in the mood to quarrel over an issue which was not even all that important.“Well, at least I hope she will show more control in front of our house guest who is arriving tomorrow”, Thomas stated almost as if he were both trying to change the subject while getting in the last word about the previous one. Karen and Kasiutrella appeared surprised at that moment, as if they were hearing something which perhaps was not complete news to them but they had not expected. “Are we having house guest?” Karen was first to ask while Kasiutrella looked on wondering when she should come in with a question of her own which she had not yet considered. “Yes, we are and I mentioned this several weeks ago so I don’t know why you look at me so shocked” Thomas explained in his natural way of speaking which for the most part was slow and deliberate, almost as if he had rehearsed everything he had to say. “Well, dad did mention it but he did not say exactly when this house guest would be coming” Kasiutrella added; almost feeling like an adult that she was being allowed to partake in such a discussion. “I have not forgotten what you said but I just thought your nephew would not be coming this time, after all hasn’t he been saying he would come visit and stay with us for such a long time and so far, he still hasn’t.” Karen added to the conversation wanting to express her point of view which she felt should not be misunderstood that she had something against this particular house guest.Thomas for his part felt he should explain given the fact that he had declared so often without results that his nephew; Pierre would be staying in their house, which he did in the form “I know before I said he will come but now he has to. He has found a job in LA, working in the cinema as camera man so he will come and stay till he finds an apartment or a place to live”. Karen in reality was not well acquainted with Pierre apart from knowing him from the distance that allows one to appreciate the looks of a person which he surely did not lack or the overall personality which she in all truth had never taken any kind of fancy toward, given she found him overly flirtatious. “You know, I have known him for over 15 years since he was a teenager and in all that time I don’t think I have ever had any conversation that went beyond a few words of hello and how are you but I do remember though it has been sometime since I have seen him that he is good looking, Kasiutrella even had a crush on him many years ago” Karen cried out trying to make it clear she was in a way glad about having him as a house guest. Kasiutrella, was made shy about having had her childhood fantasy discovered given she had never said anything to support the claim that she in fact had been in love with Pierre, apart from her being in an age when she wanted not only herself but her views not to be left out of any conversation. “Mom, I did not have a crush on him, well maybe a small one but that was a long time ago, besides I don’t think he even noticed me. I was such a child then and he was more concerned with you than anything else”.It was not so much the case that Thomas, was against the idea of a man being attracted to his wife as long as it did not lead to it being the other way around however there was something about Pierre he feared though he knew not what. Pierre after all had never shown interest or at least none which he could see in his wife or older women for that matter, however given he was 30 years old or more or less at the time which perhaps might lead to his taking an interest in Karen. Of course it also would not be the first time an attractive man had shown such an interest though for some reason he felt he should worry; as his age no longer allowed him to keep by sexuality the wife that was his but by a title which could be so easily be changed. Of course with him being the confident man he was or at least wanted to be seen as could not make it apparent in any way that he feared loosing his wife or having her have an affair with what he had always considered to be an upstart playboy. He in all that concerned this matter could have refused his nephew to stay in his home but knew this would lead to questions as to how he could refuse his sister’s grandchild; who came to him needing a place to stay while he found one of his own. It was the idea that perhaps it was overly silly to think his wife of so many years though younger than himself would have an affair with a man, with a house guest that guided him to accept thinking it was pointless to be afraid that something intimate would come about.Thomas however was not one who cherished any kind of talked that even hinted his wife might be unfaithful which brought about his reply which he hoped would not come of as defensive but in jest “Pierre has an eye for lovely women, this is true but I think my wife also has an eye only for me or so I hope”. Karen in reality had never even considered the chance of a romance between herself and Pierre though she had found him attractive even if she found his nature too loose in regards to not only life but women, in generally whom he would not stay with any longer than the season he happened to encounter them in. “Yes, it is true my dear, my eye is only to gaze upon my husband and besides I think Pierre is attracted to any woman who is over the age of 15 and under my own so I don’t think he will even notice me, not that I want him to of course” Karen spoke in a flat tone of voice as she reached across the table to touch her husband’s hand who seemed almost worried, as if fearing his wife were hiding some sort of desire, not only from him but even herself. Naturally with Thomas being one who had been trained by society to hide his emotions along with fears, it could not have been even any where near being noticed that such was the case as he smiled back to his wife as they held hands.Kasiutrella, seeing her parents in one of those moments of romance as their eyes focused on the other cried out, “Oh, how corny “my eye is only to gaze upon”, sounds like bad poetry next you two will start kissing”. Karen looked away from Thomas not catching his worried look as she said “Don’t knock it till you tried it with somebody you are in love with”. Kasiutrella, could feel both her parents looking at her as she finished of her food and retorted with some cockiness about her “What makes you think I haven’t tried that and more with somebody I just want?”. Karen was not one to ever be able to talk with comfort to her daughter of such matters and yet she knew her husband even feared the subject; with some firmness replied more from the need to have to say something “Please stop telling us these tales of romance, you know you are too young and I told you this will be for you only when you are 16 and not a day before”. Kasiutrella in fact had experienced more sexuality than she would ever admit to her mother let alone father, whom she saw more like a grandfather, this the case even if she unlike some of her friends was still a virgin said “Ok, mother if you say so but waiting is hard at my age” with a certain cynicism about her that her father preferred to ignore, though he would talk to his wife about later. As for the rest of the meal it went by calmly; as they all finished what they served themselves, and Kasiutrella waiting for her parents; given she was in fact interested in how Pierre was going to direct a film at one of the studios. Karen for her part was even startled at how interested her daughter was to hear about Pierre’s career, to the point of staying almost a full half hour after having cleaned her plate as she seemed to somehow be moved by how Pierre had worked hard to get the job he was now sure to start in a week. Karen even suspected it might be this attraction for this man, who surely was one to capture the affections of many a young lady, specially like Kasiutrella who was perhaps overly romantic or even sexed though this second phase she was not aware of.Chapter ThreeThere was something about the air that evening; perhaps it was the heat or the way she always felt at this time of year but there was something about the night which made Karen long for the touch of sexuality. Of course it did not escape her mind that part of her excitement had come from knowing that a younger man, who many considered to be a womanizer might desire her despite or perhaps due to her age being so much above his own.Karen regardless of cause was exited, that evening as she got ready for bed putting on her night gown under which on the particular occasion she chose to wear without panties, in the hope and joy ever slight in hope that this part of her body which in her case was no longer protected by hair might be frequented by her husband’s tongue or root. She in a way felt like when she was in her early years of childhood, when attending a party with knowledge that made her aware she would not be allowed to stay up as late as the rest or fully enjoy what was to come as much as the rest who were older. Karen however on that evening did have some faint idea that theirs would go beyond the fondling and light caresses her sexual life had known for such a long time as to almost having wiped from her mind a time when her husband and her would engage in actions of penetration as to bring about ecstasy. It was not that there was something new in what Karen was thinking on that evening, as many times had she put on her finest silk negligee only to have her almost dreams of more be met by the reality of her husband’s constantly advancing age; always approaching one that could be considered decrepit, if his was not already in that stage. Karen had even come to consider those nights on which her breast received a kiss or the attention of her husband’s tongue as one of making love, even if those lips so much bellow her breast had been ignored for so long by hands other than her own let alone any other part of her husband’s body which had become in many ways alienated from her most intimate component. In what was these evening however there was one thing which could be considered new for Karen and that being her own daughter Kasiutrella, her having come to an age where womanhood lurked in her life to the point that it would not be long before sexuality would change her life. This being the case even if her mother preferred to think of her as a virgin, who would at least stay that way till an age which she considered acceptable though in all truth she had been excited by the idea that her daughter, had even taken to noticing how her mother still attracted attention.Kasiutrella was a lovely young woman, very much so and this in so many ways reminded her of herself almost 40 years ago when her own body had started to develop along with the hormones that drove her to seek out the same desire for what was then novelty from those whose contrast would let her experience that which she could envision as being so lovely. It was perhaps this concept of youth in development that guided her to dare to strive for her rose to get the attention it so longed for, as it was desire to finally have the full treatment as she had come to call it that made her more adventurous with her husband that night. This being to the point that Thomas, felt even slightly embarrassed as his wife Karen, started kissing and sucking his root after having gone through their ritual of shy mouth kisses along with his tongue taking taste from the rouge area on her large female mounds. Thomas, even feeling like a child who was being asked to do something he was not ready for, as if he were being put in a situation which should be obvious that he was no longer apt for; him feeling much like a fan at an opera who had suddenly been asked to get up on stage and take over the lead role. Thomas on any other occasion would have stopped his wife but there was something he could see in her eyes, that was almost like a furry that not only turned him on but even freighted him, almost as if she were a female rapist or the roles of their gender had been changed.Karen was in control and this she knew well, like he had been so many years ago, where he guided yet it was now her who as she sucked with passion on his root was able to release some of its fury manifested in its hardness, which she could feel for the first time in so long as to make her of the mind that it might actually penetrate not only those lips which she had wrapped around it but those of so much more importance to her female anatomy. Thomas for his part felt he was being forced as she was using in fact though unknown to what she realized; her strength which given his age and her working out with weights had grown superior to his, to get him to do what she wanted. Karen seemed unrecognizable as she went at his male intimacy with ferocity, which in a way made Thomas who had never gone beyond conservative when regards to sex; feel as if he were being manipulated by this woman who seemed new to him. He placing his hands on her head as she worked on his root to give it the stiffness it would need to take that journey which had been so long in coming, in to those reaches in her which at times seemed so far.Karen felt his lust growing as she tasted his root which in reality she despite all her effort knew would never achieve the stiffness it once had but was hoping would at least be able to have the strength to force its way in to that cave of her female desire; as it used to, so many years ago. This being what she was not going to be denied of that evening, feeling that she would rape her husband if need be but intercourse would be theirs, regardless of his desire or perhaps lack of it, for hers was what had to be satisfied. All creating a situation similar to the soldier who is being made to go forward on the field of battle by a commander who is not in the least bit concerned weather or not he is willing or even able to accomplish the task he is being asked to perform. The reality being that concern is for victory and not the life of the soldier; who at most is expendable, where the cause will make all forget that some had to be sacrificed. Victory in Karen’s case being her husband leaving the seed of perhaps very limited desire in her rose which for so long had been limited only to what her own fingers could provide to give rise to its fantasy. This being Karen’s perhaps not ultimate triumph yet one to cherish for what would be a long time to come, while Thomas was like the soldier who would not know glory on that day other than surviving the ordeal of the battle. All so he might perhaps fight another day or perhaps simply retire from the activities which in his case would be those of real intercourse, which at his age might even proof fatal, given what he claimed to have a heart that no longer could withstand the trials of a battle of the sexual kind.Karen, once having established command over her soldier through superior physical strength which she had made clear she would not hesitate to use to get what she wanted much like a military commander using threats of court martial; felt in complete command to use her husband’s body as if it were an object for her desire wish she could mold and shape as her fancy struck her. How it felt to have her husband like this was something she had so often contemplated, for it was what she had always considered men to feel with a woman, whom they would take to injecting with their manhood as soon as their pride came about. It was she who for the first time in her life was in this position as she felt her husband in her mouth knowing he was as ready as his years would let him be to be taken by her as oppose to him taking her.Princess Karen at that moment elevated herself to a sitting position from which she caught a glimpse of Thomas’s eyes, so fearful that he might not be able to perform what he was almost being forced to. It even seeming to Karen that he like a child was asking to be freed of the task he was being ordered to perform, though in reality the situation in his wife had gone beyond what she would or could control as she placed her legs around him in a way that she was riding him. All was ready and how freighted Thomas was; almost like a young girl who is about to loose her virginity, which in a way she is almost to embarrassed to say she wishes to keep but is more worried to let down the one who has worked up lusts as to make them dangerous should they be not fulfilled.Karen seeing it all depended on her much like it often falls upon the male took charge, sensing this was the time as she took Thomas’s root which though not so hard would hopefully be able to at least penetrate the ring of her womanhood; entering her most graceful passage. It was not so much worry in her that it would not enter this place where she knew it wanted to be despite the fears its master felt but that it would not last long enough even in this arousal as to bring about her own moment of joy.It was then that Karen so the main action could start that she simply pushed down with her behind; as she almost shoved his now going limp root in to herself, for what would be the start of their lovemaking. Thomas at that point was even shocked at what his wife had managed to get him to do much; like the student who is being led by his teacher to the extreme that he is no longer capable of making choices and is even surprised to see what he is capable of when directed in the right fashion. This what Karen was doing as she once having set herself at the right place, forced her body to go down on Thomas’s root which she felt inside her though nowhere near what it once had been.Karen held on to Thomas’s shoulders much like a man pining down another or like Thomas had once done to her only it was her who held him and even forced him as she emphasized her waist’s movements almost to use him to make love to herself. Raise and descend she would as she held him; who was so mentally overwhelmed as well as physically to say anything let alone do anything, for this was not the way he was told sex should be. Karen was changing all the rules, she was making love to him solely as her will dictated.Karen sensing her intruder, who in some regards was a prisoner; was not solid enough to reenter her ultimate sexual passage did not go up enough as to give it a chance to escape. All of which not letting up the pressure on her captive admirer, whom her lips tightened around as much as her muscles would allow her so she might squeeze from him the very offering once again which had so many years ago produced their first child.Thomas was feeling a complete loss of control, as he looked up at the strong woman, much more than him; enjoying from his sexuality which even started to give arousal to his pride that he even at this age could in sense fulfill. How long had he not seen her in real ecstasy and though it would be hard to say hers was total; it was there, as she did moan and groan. This making her appear incredibly beautiful to him who could see her eyes close in ecstasy; reminding him of the smile she had.Karen could sense hers was about to end which made her rush her tempo; to almost frantic as she seemed to almost be trying to get out the last drop from a fruit which was her husband’s root, in an attempt to make it give its splendor; so long not hers to cherish. Thomas could sense his wife was as she had not been in so many years and it was then he tried to give her that seed; he for the first time that evening touching her breast, while even trying to make his root provide.Karen feeling her husband efforts, continued with mirth in what come to be the first orgasm she had felt inside her; which in a way was a victory, even if hers did not come other than the satisfaction that she had made Thomas exert himself more than he thought himself still capable of. Karen had been on the verge of her own, which was also more than she would have even thought possible at the start of the evening, while Thomas’s had come in the form of a light spray. This being what she wanted to praise as she rolled off him; much like a mother wishes to do with her son, who has just done something of certain merit.Chapter FourKaren went off her husband, almost as tired and fatigued as a man would usually be; for she in all reality had done the work while Thomas had but been a participant; much like most females are usually limited in their role. Thomas was tired and sweating; as if he had been in a marathon though in reality, it was not so much the physical effort which had tired him, for he did from time to time do physical exercise which was even more strenuous than what he had just done yet it was the lose of his seed which had made him weak. He on the other hand was proud as to what his body, even if largely assisted by his much younger wife had done, as he at his age; managed to have an orgasm, even if ever so slight in a woman who was still desired by many with infinitely more vigor than he. Thomas’s was fatigue which would not allow him to contemplate what had been, however his feelings were alive as he lay on his back almost out of breath, feeling much like a marathon runner whose fatigue is a badge of honor that he has at least finished the race.Karen for her part, felt like the general who has won the battle but is all too aware that the war was more than lost yet can take certain pride that he had at least delayed defeat a little longer; though ultimately defeat is inevitable. This being the case since such nights were not to be hoped for again, since they more than likely would not return with any frequency if at all. Karen in a way was saddened by this much like a person who has been allowed to stay in a luxurious hotel by a chance wish probably will never repeat itself and not by his or her own money which he or she knows will more than likely never suffice to return.Karen had not achieved orgasm however in all this was not a malcontent and felt happy, as it had been more than she would have even dared dream for, after all her rose had gotten more attention than it had in the last ten years. “Thank you, Thomas.” Karen spoke as she tried to get back her breath. Thomas not really knowing what to think asked “What are you thanking me for?”. Karen feeling it was apparent that she was praising his efforts which had been pushed almost beyond his limit said “For loving me and making me happy tonight like I have not been in a long time.” as she looked in to his eyes which contrary to hers were but tired.Karen in a way was grateful but if truth be known even if just to herself; had become even more full of desire, though this would be truly what could be called “asking too much” from a man who by all means had been deprived of all energy though she did want more. This in and of itself was not a problem as she could sneak off to the bathroom in the night to bring about her own orgasm; as she had done on so many previous nights however she did begin to ponder the future and would this come about again and how long it would take for her to loose interest in this which if all be considered held but novelty value to a woman so awakened to the idea that she might have so much more even if by this very small display. All consideration of the sort was for the future, for the time present was to some extent; one to celebrate. It being what she did as she lay on her back, holding her husband’s hand in the hope she had not hurt him in any way. These being fears she did not want to mention out loud as she might be implying that her husband’s body had been overly pushed or that he was too old for what had been theirs. In a way she went back to the role of what was expected of a woman, meaning the one that dictated she should wait on his words to tell her what had to be or what had been.Thomas did not reply right away as he really felt there was nothing he wanted or need to say; as it was a certain degree of pride and even vanity that lent to his holding up appearances by saying “I am glad I can still make you happy.” as he put up his pajama pants and rolled over with the word “Good night”. Karen did not know what to say other than “Good night” as she waited for her husband to doze of so she might conclude what had been initiated in the bathroom.Thomas while in the process of falling in to the slide that leads to slumber felt he had accomplished something much like the runner; who has been forced to go beyond what he thought he was capable of and in a strange way was grateful he had been made to do what he had. This since he in truth to himself did not ignore the fact that he would not have done what he had on his own accord.Chapter FiveIt in a way was strange; as having made love to her husband had not really satisfied her but quit the contrary had left her with more longing than usual to go in to the place she had turned in to her haven. This being her bathroom which was another than her husband’s; who would never use hers just as she would never use his. To Karen in many ways this almost nightly ritual had become one very much similar to a sleep walker, who acts on instinct, not aware of where he or she is in the physical form; as that person is living out a fantasy in his or her mind where the body is simply trying to keep pace with the ideas of the mind.Of course the reality was not one that Princess Karen was sleep walking, for she knew perfectly well what her body was doing as well as what she wanted. She in what had become almost routine would get up as she did not that night once she was sure her husband had dozed off and go to her bathroom, which she would do so barefoot and on tip toes; as to not awake her husband, who on some nights was prone to waking up in the middle of the night.Karen had come to threat these experiences as a way of going back to the past or perhaps a secret rendezvous with a mysterious devotee; which in her case was the 9 inch instrument she kept in a secret compartment of her bathroom just under the tub. It being what she on so many occasions had soaked, providing her with more erotic flight of fancy for her body’s senses than even the hot water and salts she tended to have her baths with. Regarding this rubber vibrator which she had come to treasure, almost as much if not more than any piece of jewelry she had, it in fact was given to her by a friend, who more in jest gave it to her after the two had visited a sex shop and had even gone to the trouble of checking out; more for the amusement of having the clerk at the store demonstrate how it performed its function. How she and her friend Patricia, had enjoyed themselves that day seeing that shy young man showing them how a vibrator worked, with regards to not only how to put in its batteries or turn it on but the fashion in which it should be held to allow it to stimulate that part of the feminine anatomy it was mainly intended to. Karen had been so intrigued by it as she would have never imagined that something of the sort could be used by so many women like herself, yet it was at first only curiosity that led her to ask if this small but potent lover; in its ability to never grow tired could be used to penetrate the opening from behind which in fact she had never allowed any man to use.It was this the moment she treasured the most as that young man, who in reality was neither good looking nor charming in any way apart from being overly bashful told her that many a high society lady like herself came to the place saying they just wanted to have information if these was possible. Karen could even imagine how many a woman (unlike herself at the time) stooped so low as to use this device on their anal entrance to obtain that which their husbands no longer would or could provide. Some even preferring this rubber object given the greater control they had over it and because it would not be painful and would stop when they desired. Naturally there were those who preferred the services of this which had come to be her favorite toy given they did not want to give the impression that by preferring or desiring this form of penetration they were prone to being overly loose or would perform the act with any man. It was this precious reason which Karen, herself said more in jest than anything that would be the reason if she were ever to purchase one of those “sinful toys of the devil” as she dubbed it.Karen’s friend; Patricia had always admired Karen’s sense of humor and in an attempt to play a practical joke on her friend went through the trouble purchasing the very same vibrator they had looked at and wrapping it in red paper, on which she wrote the words “sinful toy of the devil” which instantly told Karen what she would be opening. This put Karen on alert that on that Christmas; this was a gift which though presented in jest she should by no means open in front of her husband, as contrary even to her own intensions it would become his substitute in those most intimate parts of her anatomy.Karen at first only kept this “toy of the devil”, given she really knew not what to do with it, for whom could she pass it on to and could she really throw away a present which she could always show to other friends as a way to get even with Patricia for her perhaps bad taste. It in a way was odd that as soon as her eyes saw the present she knew where she would keep it; in a place she was sure would never be discovered, yet it was not with the purpose of keeping it long, as she in fact intended to return it to Patricia. Patricia in turn shocking her by saying she had one of her own, which she used more often than she would ever admit to any friend who was not as close as Karen. All of which leading to some guilt in Karen that she had felt any rancor with her friend for this present, which perhaps was given with not only mirth in mind but intensions of her physical enjoyment, though at first impact had made her feel some resentment toward Patricia. It was with a lot of reluctance that Princess Karen even turned on her devil’s toy and even more so that she introduced it in to her body; at first around her rose and eventually in to the area of herself nature had dubbed her vagina, with the pretext which she even doubted at first that she was merely doing it as an experiment just so she might see what it was like. It being very similar to somebody trying something he or she knows he or she will not like but does so just to say it was at least tried. This argument her mentality imposed on her was accepted at first but how many times can one try something with the excuse that it is not for pleasure but just to grab the taste, this the case since she had already used it 10 times with multiple orgasms when she finally allowed herself to accept that this little toy was in fact her lover.Karen in many ways had made hers in to a drill which she repeated every time almost identically, every time she went in to her bathroom with the purpose of self satisfaction or the one of the mind as she had come to think of. This being that it was her memories that motivated her devils toy to those points so giving in ecstasy, which she could find with so much more ease than she felt any man would ever be able to, for how could a man ever know which points to touch; save he be told or observe her in the act but this she was certain would never be.

My First Christmas Tree

An article about the first Christmas tree I ever bought which inspired me to continue celebrating this season with first my wife then daughter. My first Christmas tree is something I will never forget however it is not the one that was in my house when I was growing up that I am referring to but the first one I ever went out and purchased some 12 years ago. The year was 1995 and the day was a Friday as well as the first day of the month of December when I found myself sitting at home watching CNN at an hour of the mid afternoon when for no apparent reason other then being a compulsive shopper and having a bite of spare cash I decided to buy a Christmas tree. Perhaps it was also the desire to have something Christmassy in the apartment my then girlfriend (current day wife) and I had moved in to less then 3 months before which more and more was starting to feel like home.I might also add, with regards to myself at the time apart from being about to run out of my twenties I had gone about 14 years without really enjoying Christmas as this day no longer brought out in me the same enthusiasm which had been so abundant in my younger years. What it was that was missing my conscious was not aware of but what I felt was a certain emptiness on this day though I could see the opposite all around me in shape of everything that this holiday season had to offer. It was as if the decorated store windows, Christmas songs and all that lead up to the day itself went by me without arousing in me the slightest emotion that went beyond any other day of the year.Despite all I can not claim that the cause of my apathy was because I had grown any aversions to Christmas but the trappings no longer fascinated me for my age was one that had witnessed them coming and going to the point where I knew not what to look forward to on this day. As for the presents, they were perhaps still interesting but I was no longer an infant who could count on them even if his financial situation did not allow to give them and the situation was not one that I expected to see any Ferraris or even Giorgio Armani suits under the tree. All the same it was with my mind set on getting a Christmas tree that I left my apartment in downtown Warsaw and headed for the nearest mini mall where I was certain trees for the holiday were being sold. Naturally with the mini mall being less then half a kilometer away it did not take me long to reach it and there it was in front of the mall that I saw a man standing on the street selling artificial Christmas trees which seemed like a bargain. This man I will never forget had trees in 3 heights and prices. The first standing at 130 cm for 100 PLN (Polish New Zloty), the second at 150 cm for 125 PLN and the third one at 170 cm for 150 PLN. I seeing what this man had to offer inclined to take the largest tree but did not do so thinking that their might lurk a better offer somewhere in the mall so it was with this idea that I went inside the place where Mrs. Margaret Thatcher while being Prime Minister did some shopping of her own during Poland’s communist era. This place which I am referring to is officially known in Poland as “Hala Mirowska” and it was there where I saw trees which in truth were slightly nicer as they were fuller as well as being some centimeters taller but however came at prices that ranged from 450 PLN to 900 PLN. The USD being at an exchange rate of 3 PLN to the Dollar makes it easy to see why I opted to retrace my steps to the man with the more reasonably priced trees. It was not really that I could not afford to get one of the more expensive trees but it just did not seem to make any sense to spend several times more for what would have amounted to more or less the same. Needless to say I got a tree from the first man, selecting to take the one that stood at 170 cm home in a taxi.Once I had the tree home I needed to find a place where I could store it till the time was right to put it up after all it was the first of December and if my memory served me well trees were not usually put up till at least the 16th of the month. Of course there was the example of my sister who decorated hers on the 8th of the month which seemed like the concept I would follow and would have, had I actually found a place to the store the tree as the closet space was taken up by something or other. What would I do? Where would I put away the tree? Were the questions that my mind could not solve but then it came to me as I said to myself in the same way Scarlet O’Hara did in “Gone With The Wind” ,“I can’t think about that now. I’ll think about it tomorrow!” (well in my case after Christmas) so it was under the guidance of this theory that I put up my Christmas tree on the first of December with a slight worry that it might be a tad too soon.Once I had the tree up I noticed that something was conspicuous because of its absence and that being decorations and perhaps lights so it was with the goal of completing the task I had already embarked on that I left home once more. Again it was “Hala Mirowska” that I set out for the accessories I had left out that would make this a tree truly a Christmas one. All that I saw was grand and shop I did to the point of being about to drop as I got all the items that my youth had always associated with Christmas. A reef, lights for the tree, bulbs in all season colors and in several sizes, CDs of Christmas songs and carols, and other decorations for the tree were what my second outing saw me purchase that day.It was with childlike enthusiasm that I got home with all my treasures and started to adorn the tree with all the ornaments that Christmas stipulated while listening to those classics that brought back so many an idea from the past. Songs like “The Christmas Song”, “Santa Clause is Coming to Town” and “Jingle Bells” (a song that has nothing to do with Christmas other then mentioning snow) along with carols like “O’ Come oh Ye Faithful” , “Hark the Herald” and “Silent Night” (arguably the most famous of all) were sweetly pouring out of my speakers filling up the atmosphere with Christmas like I had not known since my expired years could be represented by one digit. It was as if the music was moving and controlling my actions and what my mind pondered as I went about the house putting up the decorations. It was with care and taste that I festooned the apartment with the intensions of bringing back that holiday feeling that had been lacking for so long as it was with the new lady in my life who had not been there the previous year that I wished to share it. All was ready for her arrival. She had still not gotten back from her place of employment and as I waited I could see the work I had done which filled me with a certain sense of pride. I saw how the room as well as the ambiance had changed because of a simple tree that contained ornaments and music that perhaps in any other time of the year would have caused tediousness.Hanna, the mother of “The Little Opera Singer” eventually arrived home to see how I had transformed the apartment in to something that resembled a shopping store window prompting her to add her eagerness to the scene. She would go on to tell me many years later how strange she found it at first fore she was not accustomed to seeing a Christmas tree so early but that after looking at it for sometime she started to get that feeling that Christmas was on its way. Naturally the music along with the tree enthused us as we planed our Christmas and what we were going to get one another. The following days went by bringing Christmas ever closer with this tree of the season serving my girlfriend and I as a permanent reminder that soon that day would be upon us on which we would exchange presents and feel the delight of having one another. It even seemed unbelievable that a tree could do all this. The effect naturally was stronger at night with its lights a flashing. It even seemed to mesmerize us in to a peaceful sense of happy tranquility that could not really be compared to any other as we looked at the tree which had taken on a life of its own for we could gaze upon its simple form and find comfort. It was then that I figured out what had gone amiss for so long and what now was back to stay for every Christmas to follow. I might add that this holiday season was also kept busy with several visits from not only myself but my girlfriend to the department stores as well as other stores to do that required shopping that make the time of year beautiful.Christmas eve eventually came but contrary to Polish tradition most Americans treat this evening as a time of reflection for the celebrations to come the following day rather then as a festive one so it was next to our tree that we spent this evening. Watching those classics such as “A Christmas Carol” by Charles Dickens and “It’s a Wonderful Life”, that never seem to age as this time of year also does not and me reading “The Night Before Christmas” by Clement Clarke Moore was what we chose to do on our eve of Christmas. It also being that it was our first Christmas together I decided to share some other American Christmas traditions such as eggnog which I made remembering that it was rum that it should include. And as must be the case Christmas followed its evening which took us out of our slumber bright and early to open up those presents which we had so tenderly purchased for each other. Perhaps it was not another Giorgio Armani Suit that I got but a bottle of eau de toilet by the same designer which was not unwelcome by me. As for Hanna she opened the “Tissot” watch I bought her which she wears till this day. The day was with us and for the two of us nothing could have been more perfect as we were having ourselves a merry little Christmas.

How To Get The Perfect Christmas Present

Getting the perfect present for that somebody on our list is not as hard as it may seem but of course we should always take in to consideration that perfection takes on a different meaning in everybody’s mind. For instance there are those whose love for winter sports make them the perfect candidates to receive a lovely new pair of skis or poles however if I be the case then this would be the furthest thing from my desires as I do solemnly detest anything that may have the slightest connection with winter sports. This I say not with intension of offending those who ski or even winter sports as it maybe my foolishness that prevents me from enjoying them but with the aim of giving an example of how “one man’s trash is another man’s treasure”. Naturally this philosophy may also be applied to the female gender not only the males because in short what is perfect for one will not by necessity be perfect for another.Once we have accepted this simple truth it is then that we can proceed by taking another factor in to consideration when getting that specific someone the perfect gift and this being. that the present we are giving is not to ourselves but to another person. It is this fact rather then opinion that should allow us to understand that it is not important for us to like the present but for the future receiver. For instance the fact that we do not like or wear ties should not dissuade us from getting a tie for someone we know does like ties any more then the fact that some of us may like opera should not propel us to give opera CDs or DVDs to someone we know does not like opera. Naturally with some presents such as clothes we can not avoid using our own taste may it be good or may it be bad and then again there are those who tell us in so much detail (for instance a bottle of “Kenzo” “Jungle” 100 ml or “Star Wars 3” on DVD) that we need not fret. Some people worry weather or not taking the direct approach is appropriate. The direct approach being the one in which we ask the person what is his or her heart’s desire. To this concern I reply that since the present is to be not for ourselves but for that person then we should ask if there is anything specific that person wants or perhaps needs. This makes shopping more efficient though some may say this rules out the element of surprise which is a lovely one but a risky one for we may end up buying some one who does not smoke a very exclusive pipe or a book in a language that person does not speak. I do not rule out surprises but we should go about it with caution when we attempt to pull one off for this may backfire on us if we end up spending a lot of money on a present that receiver will have no use or liking for. When we ask there are those who may say that what ever we choose is fine or that they wish to get what their eyes see when they close them. It is these people who are the most difficult or perhaps the easiest because they by virtue of having held their peace when asked forfeited their right to complain if they do not get something that is to their liking. With concern to what to get these people then I suggest getting them anything but not for the sake of satisfying them but for the sake of satisfying the need in ourselves to be generous and to give. For if the present pleases not the receiver may the act of giving bring joy to the bearer after all “tis the season”.We should always remember that a gift maybe practical but does not need to be fore if practicality were the sole issue then all would be made simpler as we could just get our loved ones some roles of toilet paper and have it done with. After all it is this kind of paper which is useful to all living human beings but who in truth wishes to get even 100 roles of toilet paper for Christmas. When I say a present need not be useful this should not to be interpreted that it can not be as a present might be both useful as well as decorative. For instance sweaters are both useful as most people wear them specially in cold countries and are not difficult to get in the right size as they mostly come in Small, medium or large. Of coarse a present has the right to be completely without practical use for instance a bottle of Champagne which in the event the receiver does not drink he or she may always serve to his friends who do or simply pass this present on to others. Let’s not forget that we give presents to others for them to do with them as they see fit.As an additional word of advice I would like to add that if we are giving ornaments for the house such as paintings or other items of the sort we should be sure that they are to the person in question’s taste because if they are not then that person might be left in an awkward position of having to display in his or her home what that person does not like. There are many strategies to follow when buying Christmas presents but mine (which is presented in part in my book “New York’s Opera Society”) is the following:1) Make out a list of all those we wish to make happy with our presents. This may not be necessary for those whose list only includes a very small number of people but for those who have more to give to it is a way of not forgetting not only those we have to get something for but even those we do not have but should get something for.2) Next to each name put down two figures, one a minimum and the other a maximum of how much our budget or generosity will allow us to spend. This might be a good idea for those of us who shall we say only posses the kind spirit to give Ferraris, diamonds, Rolexes and such lovely presents but not the unlimited funds that being so generous requires.3) Decide based on the amount of capital pledged weather to get that person one present or more. In some cases it may be nicer to give more then one present even if they be more humble for the physiological reason of allowing that special someone (effect might be greater on a child) to see more gift paper wrapped boxes under the tree. The sight of many bejeweled boxes is to my way of seeing things the true spirit of Christmas as it not only represents beauty but the spirit of giving and sharing with those who are dear to us.4) Learn about the person whom we are trying to buy a present for if we are not already familiar with that person by this I mean find out what does the person on our list like. What hobbies if any does this person have so that we might get them something related. For instance if we know a person likes a certain kind of alcoholic beverage that would be an idea.5) Of course asking perhaps eliminates the surprise factor but can also serve as a method that would avoid us getting somebody a present they may like but already have. For example what use would it be to anybody to have two copies of the same film on DVD, naturally there are those items where this would not matter like having two bottles of “Absolute” vodka for we could empty one first before starting on the second.6) With children then the wise man’s or woman’s approach would be to ask the parents’ of the child if they are not us not only what would make content the child’s heart but what we can get them so the child will not get two of the same computer game or doll, making it seem as if Santa had committed an error.7) A method a gentleman or lady might use to get a perfume or any other such item that requires knowledge of the person’s taste is by telling the person whom they intend to give to that they are looking for a perfume for another person. For instance a man could tell his girlfriend he is seeking to buy a perfume for his sister or a female cousin and needs advise on what perfume to get. Naturally his girlfriend will mention the name of the perfume she likes and by doing so tell what perfume she herself would like to get. This making it easy for her boyfriend to know what perfume to get her while still keeping the element of revelation.8) Last but not least we should remember that the aim of giving presents is to let someone know they are special to us. This concept is simple in theory but is often forgotten as people in their attempt to impress a certain someone loose sight of the idea that it is the thought that counts. As a final word I might add to those who feel guilty about receiving what they themselves would classify as overly expensive presents that if a person of his or her own free will is able to give something that is exclusive then why for any logical reason should the receiver hold feelings of culpability. The reason for my believe is that Christmas is a season for giving but for giving to take place somebody has to receive and if a person gives whose large funds should match his large heart then why should another be ashamed to let that person give. Should not being able to match the presents we receive dollar for dollar because our financial position does not allow us to do so prevent us from accepting costly presents? I claim for myself and those who care to heed my counsel that it should not fore those who give should do so only with intension of pleasing the spirit of giving and nothing more. However to those whose feelings of guilt go beyond all reason then I suggest to them not to return that Ferrari, Rolex watch, diamond necklace or those 2 million dollars worth of shares in Microsoft as this will surely offend the giver beyond measure. To them my recommendation is to pass on their feelings of guilt on to me for I by taking these items will relieve them of the ill feelings that taking them would have brought upon them.

An article about all the great songs and carols connected with this time of year known as Christmas which like our trees help to make this time of year bright. Along with the performers who through their talent and voice have brought life to those carols and songs most of us have known so well through out our lives as they make us feel that Christmas time is upon us.It is without much room for doubt, safe to say that no other holiday (religious or secular), or day of the year or time of which has so much in the way of music dedicated to it; as does Christmas. This in a tradition that goes back through the centuries as far as the middle ages. However it was during the years of the reformation that a lot of the music connected to Christmas was banned as was the celebrating of Christmas itself. This being caused by the believe of those who stuck firm to the notion that since Christmas was not mentioned in the bible; it ought not to be celebrated; as doing so would be an act of sin. With time however Christmas celebrating was brought back as was the music connected to it which in the last 100 years has become connected more with carols and songs then with the church orchestral music which those of centuries prior used to associate this time of year with.Christmas music now a days can be for the most part divided in to two categories; they being carols and songs, with carols concentrating on the religious side of Christmas and all that has to do with the birth of Christ, such as the virgin Mary, the town of Bethlehem, angels and the star which guided the three wise men to the place of Jesus’ birth. Carols include such numbers as “Oh, Come O’ Ye Faithful” “Joy To The World” and “Silent Night” which as stated in this paragraph capture the essence of what in fact is being celebrated and that being the birth of Christ. It is songs like these that make for a quit evening at home, perhaps around a fireplace, if one happens to have one though I am reminded of my youth in New York. This being not because I had a fireplace but because it was in New York that channel 11 would play Christmas music exclusively from 9 pm till midnight of the 24th of December. All the time showing nothing on the screen but a fireplace with one burning log. I guess channel 11, figured most people would be limiting themselves to listening to the music and not watching what was on the screen. It however seemed strange to me that after watching the log burning for sometime; I started to get a feeling of warmth which no doubt must have been created by my mind as it is highly doubtful that the TV set would have radiated more heat because of this image. As for Christmas Carols; I would also say they offer relaxation from the hustle and bustle that is the Christmas season. All of which includes the need to plan how we will spend this day along with the shopping done; in more often then not crowed stores, as we look for bargains or that perfect gift for that certain someone. It is from this that we can come home to a lovely melody of the season which for us older folks would be accompanied by a cup of coffee with brandy while the younger ones may enjoy a cup of hot chocolate which would not be just right without those marshmallows.Where carols focus on the religious side of Christmas, songs do so on all the rest that is connected to this time of year, which includes the commercial angles of shopping and decorations plus the sentimental side of Christmas that makes people come together. As some examples of Christmas songs one could mention “White Christmas”, “Santa Claus Is Coming To Town”, and “We Wish You A Merry Christmas”. It is songs such as these that have contributed perhaps even more then carols to Christmas being so vastly celebrated through out the world. As in an age when people are turning away from believe in God, they may find something in songs that put emphases on simply having a good time or being together in sharing our love of humanity.Christmas songs can also be very good for bringing out the joy of giving presents or receiving them as well as being close to one’s loved ones; weather they be our children or parents or just that special romantic relationship; one may be involved in at the time of Christmas. As these songs remind people of the simple way two people can share this time of year. In a way where little other then each other’s society is required. Songs like “Have Yourself A Merry Little Christmas” or “I’ll Be Home For Christmas or “Blue Christmas” are the ones I have in mind when it comes to expressing such ideas. As for myself, I have always enjoyed listening to such songs with my wife in a romantic setting where our tree of the season is never out of sight. When it comes to Christmas songs, “Jingle Bells” is arguably the most popular of all and yet strangely enough the lyrics of this song have almost nothing to do with Christmas as they do not even mention it by name for that matter. “Jingle Bells” actually was not originally released as a Christmas song but a pop song about winter which for the reason that most countries in the north celebrate this time of year during their cold months has come to be considered as a Christmas song. It in my opinion is a nice little piece which most children through out the world have heard and though it has no real connection with Christmas it is always a lot of fun and has even been covered by “The Three Tenors” on their Christmas Album of 2000. “Jingle Bells” however is not the only song to become popular during Christmas simply because it makes reference to the snow and cold to be found in most of the northern countries as “Baby, It’s Cold Outside” or “Let It Snow” or “Winter Wonderland” do likewise whilst also failing to use the words Christmas or even Santa Claus. As for myself, I particularly like the song “Sleigh Ride” and its merry melody which also does not say anything about Christmas but gives the listener plenty to be merry about. This song can also be found on the Christmas album by “The Three Tenors”.Another variety of Christmas song which has become popular is those which are basically of little difference from romantic songs other then they tell of a romance during Christmas time. “Last Christmas” by the pop group “Wham” perhaps is a perfect example of how such feelings are not being kept out of this kind music which tries to cater to feelings that might arise during this most special time of the year. So, lovers need not feel excluded as there are many such songs to fill the hearts of those who really care little for anything that concerns this season; save being with the one they love above all else in a romantic way. As for my taste when it comes to such romantic Christmas songs, it leans toward the ones recorded so many years ago by those now legendary performers, like Dean Martin (real name Dino Crocetti and who incidentally died on December 25, 1995), Doris Day, Bing Crosby and who could forget Frank Sinatra, “the voice”. It is these singers that have been played on my stereo many a time during Christmas; as there is something in their renditions of songs like “A Winter Romance”, “I’ve Got My Baby To Keep Me Warm” and some of the ones already mentioned that in my opinion truly brings out the romance that some of us now associate with this time of year.Christmas perhaps most of all is enjoyed by children as to them everything is new and the presents they get are of most importance to them then anybody else and it is for them that some songs have been specially written. For instance “Frosty, The Snowman”, ( not really a Christmas song, as it does not mention it) truly captures the spirit of this time of year in the countries of cold with its happy melody reminding all, specially the young that they need not fuss with school and may go out and build all their imagination and snow will allow them to.Of course, there are a variety of songs for this time of year; some of which are simply about Christmas partying such as Paul McCartney’s “Wonderful Christmastime” or Slade’s “Merry Xmas Everybody”. It is songs like this and several others which for the most part are nice songs to even dance to in a party setting with drinks and general good cheer. However in this that be music of the season, John Lennon also contributed a song called “Happy Xmas (War Is Over)” which undoubtedly captures the ideas of this time of year while throwing a bit of a political view as it makes reference to American participation in what become known as the Vietnam War. This song however in spite of its politics and reference to a war which has been over for over 30 years is still popular and was even covered twice by my idol, Placido Domingo. First with Sarah Brightman and then with his fellow tenors, Carreras and Pavarotti.Christmas songs however come from all over the world and many times some of the songs we believe to be from our country; turn out to be from overseas and were translated in to our language. For instance “Silent Night” (composed by Mohr and Gruber) comes to us from Austria and because of this we can imagine that it was originally written in German; as is the case. France for instance has given us “Oh, Holly Night” while Spain is not without classics of its own such as “Ay, Para Navidad”; so it is this Christmas that I urge those who enjoy music of this season to try some songs from other countries. If for no other reason then just to see how they differ from those in our own countries. Poland for instance has a nice song called “Dormi Bambino” which thanks to Carreras having a Polish girlfriend at the time ended up being performed by “The 3 Tenors” on their Christmas album which I recommend to all, even those who be not fans of classical music. When it comes to Christmas songs, they not only are not limited by international boundaries but by musical styles as songs of the season have been covered from artist as diverse as “The 3 Tenors”, McCartney, Lennon, Slade, Brian Adams, Steve Vai, Kenny G, Kenny Rogers in styles of music that include country, disco and recently even hip-hop. I however always incline to the traditional arrangements as those are the ones I grew up on.In conclusion I would say there is no denying the influence Christmas has had on music as there is no denying the same for what music has meant to Christmas, for what would be this season without those songs we grew up with? Songs which we perhaps sang in school, which will last forever as will this day, therefore it is with this in mind that I suggest to all who enjoy Christmas not to exclude those songs and carols which like the tree itself will bring to our homes that spirit of giving which is so abundant during this time of year known as Christmas.

The Wonder Of Christmas

An article about Christmas and how it has come to be celebrated by so many through out the world, some of which are even atheistic in their believes while others are of religions not of the Christian variety who in spite of which have come to treasure Christmas. Yet, it all that be Christmas some Christians do not uphold it believing it pagan; as it is not mentioned in any way shape or form in the bible’s “New Testament”.There are some conversations which for some reason or other we will never forget and though they held no great importance in our lives, it is just the same that our memory will not delete them as they made us see something that perhaps had always gone past our attention. It was back in the month of December in the year of 1985 that I had such a conversation while still a student at “The Tutoring School of New York” with a fellow student. A young lady to be exact and though I forget the name of this person I remember her as a nice girl who just happened to be a school mate of mine. The day was the last day of school before Christmas break and I do recall being on my way home or wherever I was heading that day after school under the influence of some champagne, which one of the teachers had brought to celebrate the start of the Christmas vacation. It happened while I was on my way out of the building with my best friend at the time, Paul Rao (Italian American like myself) and as we were both biding farewell to all those whose spirits matched the one of the season while at the same time spreading Christmas wishes that a fellow student was coming in to the building. Moved by the feelings of good cheer delivered to me not only by the Champagne but Christmas I said “Well, good bye and have a merry Christmas” to this young lady whom I was acquainted with (not that I had much a of choice as ours was a school of only 80 students) but was not really a friend of. This young lady however rather then reply to my desires for her to have a merry Christmas with her own simply said “I am Jewish” with a rather serious look on her face which for the first time made me stop to think; “What of it?”.It being then that I; with the best of intensions to spread my good wishes to all, excluding none said “Well, try to have a merry day on Christmas; doing what ever it is you do if for no other reason then just to be happy”. I could tell by the look on her face and the reaction of those around me that this was the last thing anybody had expected me to say but I also could sense that those who had heard me in a way agreed with what I had said about Christmas. After all there is some kind of magic about Christmas that goes beyond religion and even faith in God or Jesus and in to something which in my opinion has more meaning and that being love of humanity and that which we know as true kindness, that seeks not reward from God but its own merit and that of creating a nicer world for all to live in.Christmas, in conclusion I would say is many things to different people and has had a tremendous influence over the whole of society in more ways then one that include films, music, literature and so much more but to me above all Christmas has always been about coming together as people and putting differences behind at least for the time that is Christmas. In my mind, if nowhere else; it does not matter weather one believes in Christ or not or if the carpenter’s son, who was named Jesus really lived or if he in fact was the “son of man”. For what does is that during this time there is a feeling that makes people nicer to one another and come together in to one group that accepts all regardless of anything else that might have separated us through out the year. It is almost as if on this day and the time that leads up to it people smile more as happened on that day when I wished that Jewish girl a merry Christmas. A girl who if my memory serves me well replied with a slight laugh “well thanks, I’ll try and a Merry Christmas to you to” as she walked past me.

An article about the great films of Christmas which have delighted us through the years during this most special holiday season. There are many a Christmas film to entertain during this most special time of year and in spite of this tradition not going back as far as the music and stories that accompany this season; it has become just as much apart of Christmas as any other. Christmas films; now a days are just as eagerly awaited as perhaps the season itself by cinema goers all over the world with every season bringing on a new batch, most of which will probably be forgotten before the season returns the following year. With regards to the history behind these films perhaps it can be said that the first films of this season limited themselves to subjects which portrayed the birth and life of Jesus Christ or at least the way it is said to have taken place in the “New Testament” of the bible. These films concentrating on showing three wise men being lead by a star to a place where the virgin Mary gave birth to the one whom Christians through out the world have called the messiah. Some films would include the events of Jesus’ life but for the most part these films of Christmas would limit themselves to the events that preceded his birth. With time however Christmas films as did perhaps the season itself; moved away from only being focused on the birth of Christ and started including such themes as Santa Claus. This being the man who supposedly lives in the North Pole and gives presents to all those children, regardless of any condition other then weather or not they have been good through out the year.Christmas eventually stretched beyond even these two themes and like Christmas itself which expanded so did the films concerning this time of year, to include the effect this season has on most people and their relationships to one another. As a strange coincidence or perhaps it was not the first film to go a way from these two themes was “A Christmas Carol”, based on the famous book written by Charles Dickens. As it might have been this story which was the first to concentrate on another matter concerning Christmas other then Jesus or Santa Claus. With regards however to film versions of “A Christmas Carol”, the first of which was not even given this title but “Scrooge” (though sometimes also referred to as “Marley’s ghost”), it being released way back in 1901 as a short film. Many films however would follow based on the theme created by Dickens though perhaps the one that sticks out the most from all these versions of the same, at least as far as those which are in black and white is the one staring Reginald Owen in 1938 in the role of the Ebenezer Scrooge. The biter old man who needed to be reminded by three ghosts sent to him by his deceased business partner, Marley of the joy he once held for Christmas which had been replaced by his greed for money.Where “A Christmas Carol” can be said to have been the first film to focus on other then religious subjects perhaps it is the film “It’s A Wonderful Life” which in a way goes back to them though again not concentrating on Jesus’ birth but on an angel coming down to earth to assist “George Bailey”. This being a man who on Christmas day decided that his path would be suicide to escape from a life he considered not to have been of use to any; only to be proven that in fact many around him would be far worse of if he had not been born.“It’s A Wonderful Life” in my opinion and that of many (at least in the United States) others has in recent years replaced “A Christmas Carol” as far as being the most symbolic film of the Christmas season. As it perhaps even more so then “A Christmas Carol” captures that spirit so abundant during this season. That being the spirit of giving and sharing with our neighbors specially should they be in need or if they through out their lives have done as much as George Bailey did for those in his town of Bedford Falls. As for myself personally I would have to say that looking at this film even from a critical angle, that it is the one that I would recommend above all others when it comes to Christmas films. It combining sentimentalism but in a strange manner those who are portrayed as such are also shown as being practical. After all they in a way are simply showing their gratitude to the man who was responsible for them being able to buy the homes they live in. This sentiment being exclaimed in the line “I wouldn’t even have a roof over my head it if wasn’t for you George” used by one of the characters who contributes to solve George’s dilemma over the money which had been stolen from his savings and loan.Perhaps one of the reasons why “It’s A Wonderful Life” has replaced “A Christmas Carol” as the standard Christmas film is because “It’s A Wonderful Life” contrary to “A Christmas Carol” has not had so many different versions made, which makes it that when people refer to it they naturally only think of the one made by Capra staring James Stewart. This being the case though a very forgettable version called “It happened One Christmas” was made in 1977 which given the fact that many were not familiar with the original version at the time become very popular. This till “It’s A Wonderful Life” was made popular on TV to the point of almost being shown at least once a day at Christmas time. All of which sending “It happened One Christmas” back to the obscurity from which it should have never left.“A Christmas Carol” however has had many versions made of it, making it almost that there is no version which can be considered classic or even the original one. All of which making it hard for film viewers to focus on any one particular version or associating the main character “Ebenezer Scrooge” with any particular actor, given that many from George C. Scot to Henry Winkler (mostly known for his portrayal of the “Happy Days” character the “Fonz”) to Reginald Owen have played have played it. This not being the case for George Bailey; as this character has come to be associated exclusively with James Stewart.“A Christmas Carol” perhaps because it was first known as a great piece of literature went on however to have its theme repeated not only in many a film but TV serials as well. For instance “The Odd Couple” did so when Oscar dreamed he was “Scrooge” being visited by the ghost of Felix; given that the ghost of Marley could not make it given that it was his busiest time of year. “The Six Million Dollar Man”, a TV show about a man turned part robot also took from this theme as did many a cartoon like “Mr. Magoo” and even Walt Disney cashed in on the idea using Donald Duck’s rich but often parsimonious Scottish uncle. However, many are the films regarding Christmas that I would say deserve honorable mention such as “The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t”, which I might add I went to see with my class while a student at the parochial school I attended in my early years in New York City. “The Christmas That Almost Wasn’t” I would recommend as being nice though it perhaps lacks somewhat in originality as it takes a page from “It’s A Wonderful Life”. This coming in the form that it is the children who help Santa raise the money he needs to pay off his debt or the toys he has worked on all year will be taken instead. However when mentioning Christmas films there are some which I would not take even the most rotten kids I know to see such as the one made with Dudley Moore called “Santa Claus” or “Miracle On 34th Street”. This last film being in extremely poor taste in my opinion; as it tries to show the hardships of a “poor little girl” who cries because she has to content herself with living in luxurious apartment on Westside of Central Park; given her mother does not own an equally posh house in the country. This “poor girl’s” tragedy is even augmented because she has no father, as if her more then loving mother were not enough. This making me think of how one could classify those orphaned children I saw living on the streets of South America, who had to do with much less then this spoilt American child; while not having anybody what so ever.Of course there are other films which were made and can be purchased on DVD such as “The Bells Of Saint Marry” though this film I know very little about as I have neither seen it nor read its synopsis and what little I do know about it is that there is a Swedish actress by the name of Ingrid Bergman, who plays a nun. This being what I picked up from a scene in “The Godfather” in which Michael Corleone (played by Al Pacino) and his girlfriend, Kate (Played by Diane Keaton) walk out of Radio City (when they showed films there) after seeing it and comment on how perhaps Michael would prefer it if Kate were a nun or Ingrid Bergman. I having little in the way of knowledge about this film can not recommend it though I have heard from many that it is worth seeing but then again this was what I heard about that tactless film “Miracle On 34th Street”.As for animated films that have taken my interest during this time of year, I would have to say that “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” ranks up there as one of the finest films I have seen connected to this time of year. This 30 minute animated film by “Doctor Zeus” showing how a little girl teaches the mean Grinch, that there is more to Christmas then toys and decorations; is a real Christmas classic which no child should ever miss. Those who see this film in English and are old enough might recognize the voice of Boris Karloff (real name William Pratt), also known for his portrayal of Frankenstein. Where I recommend this animated film I by no means do so the idiotic film version made in recent years with the same title by director Ron Howard (also known for his portrayal of the Happy Days character Ritchie Cunningham) staring Jim Carey. This because I have a hard time deciding if this film is even a bigger tragedy then some of the other Christmas disasters I have tried to watch on TV; most of which I will not even mention in this article.TV shows have also contributed great stories for this time of year known as Christmas and it is with all my heart that I would like to recommend to those who should read this article, that this Christmas they turn on Youtube and watch the episode of the Twilight Zone; entitled “Night Of The Meek”. This being a truly igneous story of a man of good nature by the name of Henry Corwin; who through the magic that is Christmas is literally transformed in to Santa Claus but not before having been fired from his Job as the department store Santa Clause for drunkenness. It is this story which I would say is my favorite as far as stories portraying the character who is also known as Saint Nick. As it portrays Henry Corwin as a generous man, who drinks because he is unable to help the poor and helpless one’s as he refers to them who are all around him. One of which contrary to the child in “Miracle On 34th Street” asks not for a house in the country but a job for his unemployed father. It is however when confronted by a bag of Christmas presents which seems to not only never run out of presents but have in it all that those around ask for; such as toys, sweaters and just about anything anybody could want that Henry Corwin gets what he always wanted. To become the biggest gift giver of all.In conclusion I would say that Christmas is a wonderful time of year and perhaps in a way it is made more so by the films mentioned in this article; for they thanks to their stories show us how this time of year can truly bring people closer together in a way that nothing else can. As for a personal confession of mine, I must say that “It’s A Wonderful Life” along with “The Night Of Meek” never fail to bring tears to my eyes. This being the case regardless of weather I find myself watching or even describing their plots as I have done so in this piece of mine.

Now, that Christmas has come and gone leaving us with so many fine memories of decorated trees along with presents it is time to think of New Year’s eve, that last day of the year in which we for some reason find to be significant enough to hold an all out, no holds bared celebration for. Well regardless of weather or not the evening which ends one year and starts the next is cause to party long in to the night is not the point of this article but what is, is to advocate the benefits of spending the evening of New Year at home.I naturally am aware that numerous are the places where one may see out the old year such as restaurants, discos, hotel ballrooms, etc. but I in my old fashioned ways still believe it perhaps not best but coziest to bid farewell to the old year at home. This previous statement should not be interpreted that I do not believe the above mentioned places to be without charm for that is not the case as some of these places have true elegance but my philosophy tells me that a party given at a person’s home is a reflection of the organizers personality. If one really lends consideration to the issue one will see that the parties we throw are us for it is our way of saying “this is how I like to have fun and this is who I am” to our guests whom we wish to permit a view of the most favorable side of our individuality. The side I refer to is the one that is our culture which is friendly and warm as it accepts others and their ways. It hears music that moves us, it is considerate and wishes all to enjoy what we may offer even if it be not ostentatious but merely given whole heartedly.Home made New Year’s eve parties also present other advantages such as if we over extend ourselves in sipping the sauce we need not go far to reach our comfy bed with perhaps a lady or gentleman who may have also over engaged in elbow bending. Needless to say with privileges also come responsibilities connected with the etiquette of hosting which demand a gentleman to greet and introduce himself to every single breath taking lady and her sensual attire. It is decorum that lays the same burden on the ladies to do likewise with their gentlemen guests. Of coarse getting the telephone numbers of those who meet our attraction might be away to assist them in retrieving any items which maybe left behind and perhaps other personal purposes. Many are the ways of doing what is commonly known as “throwing a New Year’s eve bash” therefore here in this article I will present not the grandest but my method which follows one basic idea. My idea is based on the simple fact that New Year’s eve holds not importance which might be construed as religious (it being secular) or family connected as is Christmas making it the perfect excuse for all the peoples of the world to come together in indulgences that for the most part go on through out the night in to early morning light. It is with this initiative in mind that I proceed in the following manner:1 Set a program for the soiree as we may offer our guests a few options. One being a dinner where all sit down at the table at the same time. Dinner may be followed by coffee, desert along with spirits that tend to have an up lifting effect on our cravings for contact of a much more intimate nature with those around us that might include a dance for all to see or perhaps a private one.As a second option we may hold the get together in the form of a party and in that case it is not so much necessary to set a formal table for all to eat as one assemblage but to have a table decked out with food in the form of a buffet for all to serve themselves at their leisure.Mine is the concept that says a dinner is for talking and a party is for dancing and mingling in small groups of two or more so if a party be what we choose here are some ideas which in my humble opinion might serve those who follow them well.2 Make out a guest list of those who are to be invited. Those who have no one they wish to invite as their desire may be to spend this evening in only in the company of those whom they live with or whose guests can be counted on the fingers of one hand need not fret with this. However with regards to those who wish to celebrate in bigger numbers to them I suggest a list. Sometimes it is not easy deciding whom to invite but this can be simplified by inviting those near to us though it might be interesting to allow our friends to bring along other friends who through their personalities may add color and flavor to the party. As an idea we might think of inviting people who have what I would classify as “party personalities” as they with their witty yet light talk coupled with their silly antics know how to move others to the party frame of mind.3 Chose what will be on the menu.It is my point of view that when making out a menu for a grand festivity as is New Year’s eve we should not disregard the fact that the occasion is special therefore the cuisine should be up to the same. By special I mean something which we do not set upon our table everyday fore if we did it would be too familiar with our taste buds so I suggest something rare perhaps from some exotic cook book. We might get a cook book from a country that is completely foreign to us and see what this far away land has to offer or we might simply order from a restaurant if lack of time or culinary ability prevents us from making it ourselves. Of coarse if variety is really what we are after we may always ask our guests to bring dishes which they have made at home so that we might see what ideas others have. Some may not consider nourishments as a form of entertainment but sometimes preparing it is, so for those willing to attempt something different we might try letting each guest make his or her own sundae. There are some however who would claim that food is not first priority of a party and to them I would reply “who claimed it was? but if we are inviting people for food as well as our own company why not make something unique so that they may leave our homes with fund memories in their stomachs as well”.3 keep a well stocked baralcoholic beverages and drinks take an a bigger role on New Year’s eve then they do on Christmas day so it is advisable to make drinks that like the food be original. For instance we might consider getting some exotic booze from some far away land just to try something new or get a book telling us how to make different drinks. A “Long Island Ice Tea” is my favorite. Another idea would be to let our guests make their own drinks as strongly or weekly as they like. Of coarse we should not forget the bubbly for what would be New Year’s eve without champagne which according to Marilyn Monroe (the most uncommon woman in the époque known as the “Century of the common man”) makes eyes look happy.4 Dress up as elegantly as our wardrobe will allowAfter all why not? Maybe just for the fun of it or perhaps for our guests, to let them know that their presence in our homes matters to us. I personally believe that life in and of itself is a special occasion to dress ones best but for those who need a reason other then elegance itself I would say if this is not an occasion that merits ones best attire then what be one? By our best it is ties, tuxedos and suits that I have in mind for the gentlemen while long evening gowns, high heels and stockings for the ladies is what my imagination holds.5 Keep our guests busyIn my personal believe it is this accept of hosting that is the most important of all for it demonstrates the full personality and character of the individual who has chosen to use his or her home as a place of merriment for others. In every party a good host will make it his or her affair to keep his guests entertained and happy. As it does not suffice to keep them feed and watered so for he or she who seeks to excel as a host the thing to do would be to spend as much time with as many of our guests as possible and keep them occupied. Have music that is for dancing as well as a place where this might be done. “The 3 Tenors”, “Frank Sinatra”, “Dean Martin” and some Latin music is what my body seeks to move to but let each follow the dictate of the dancing soul contained in his or her body.Games such as limbo or musical chairs might add to the entertainment though for those who walk on the wilder side “strip poker” might be a way for them to literally loose the shirt of their back. Wet t-shirt competitions should not be ruled out as a form of appreciation of the female anatomy. As for a personal invention of mine I suggest for those who care to be slightly impish to try a test that blindfolds one of the guests while he or she kisses each guest that be of the opposite gender trying to guess who it is he or she is kissing. This blind folded test need not limit itself to contact of the oral kind as other parts of the body may require attention. Naturally for those guests whose longing for knowledge of each other extends in to the carnal kind, it is advisable to keep an extra room. This extra chamber however might proof unneeded for our guest’s modesty or perhaps lack of it might prevent them from taking their pleasures of the flesh out of the view of other guests and by virtue of this provide us with the truest live entertainment.I have given many ideas for hosts to follow so to those who are looking to be guests only one thing will I suggest them to do and that is to accept as many invitations as they can. Perhaps it is an American thing but party hopping on New Year’s eve is a wonderful way of not only trying as many kinds of grub as possible but of checking out many scenes as well as meeting a lot of people.A final thought I will leave those who read this and it being that home my creed says is the place for New Year’s eve but not on our lonesome for in the society of those who are dear to us we are always accompanied even if the number of those who surround us not be not a digit that be double for it is not quantity that is of the essence but the sentiments that those around evoke.

The Many Ways Of Spending Christmas

Many are the ways of Christmas changing from country to country taking on numerous shapes and colors as diverse as the peoples who first started them for those who through the course of time turned them in to traditions. It is strange and wonderful how dissimilar all these Christmas habits are, ranging from waiting till January 6, “Dia de Los Reyes” (Day of Kings) to open up ones presents (tradition practiced in Spain) to Poland where people do not even delay till Christmas day as their presents are opened as soon as the first star makes its appearance in the sky on the evening of Christmas. There are even those countries such as Russia and Greece whose orthodox churches have not adopted to the Julian calendar and are still using the Gregorian calendar making their celebration of Christmas take place about a fortnight after the 25th of December. As for myself I have been fortunate enough due to my many travels to spend Christmas in many a country where this holiday is upheld and thanks to this fact I have seen for myself the many ways people in the United States, Poland, Peru, Argentina, Ecuador, Italy, Hungary and the Soviet Union celebrate Christmas. The customs I have seen in these lands were of true beauty as I was invited to people’s homes in all of the above mentioned countries well with the sole exception of Soviet Union. It was in this last country where I spent this day in a hotel (Cosmos) in Moscow in the year 1988 during the time when the words Glasnosts and perestroika were becoming known to most Americans thanks Gorbachov. This being a man whose popularity in America at the time could match that of any other politician or actor. With Regards to Christmas I can not say much about what it is that Russians did or ate on this day as the hotel I and the rest of the tour group I had joined did not offer any thing special on the menu. In truth the only thing I learnt about Russian Christmas while in the Soviet Union was from our Russian tour guide who told us that in the Soviet Union Christmas was not celebrated as in her country New Year’s Day served as a combination of the two. She also told us how people gave presents to each other on that day and how her and her husband would pay a man to dress up as “father Christmas” and go to their home to give their son his presents. Of coarse needless to say times have changed since my visit to the Soviet Union as this “empire of evil” as Ronald Reagan called it was eventually eradicated by history. As for the other countries where I spent Christmas Hungary was also unique in the fact that it was the first country (the Soviet Union being the 2nd) where I spent Christmas with no family or relatives of any kind. The year was 1987 but unlike in the Soviet Union I spent the day in a pension which was the apartment of a Hungarian family which out of some sort of kindness perhaps seeing that I was completely alone invited me to join them for their Christmas Dinner. It perhaps was the oddest feeling I had ever had sitting down to dinner on Christmas day with people whose language was as foreign to my ear as mine (me speaking Italian, French and Spanish apart from English at the time) was to theirs. The meal I must say was not bad in its humble way though for the life of me I knew not what I ate as my hosts were unable to explain to me what I was eating which was some sort of meat which was probably pork. In a way I felt honored because this family which was far from being affluent had invited me, a person who was only renting a room in their apartment to share in their Christmas meal which I could imagine based on what I knew of eastern block countries had cost them a lot of money. It was while sitting down with them at the table that I noticed a certain dignity in this middle aged couple infused with the tremendous joy and pride they took in not only the way they ate their simple meal which I could see in their faces but the way they spend this day.I must however say that I felt rather relieved when they opened their presents that they had not bought me anything fore I given that I had not expected to be invited to Christmas dinner had not bought them anything either.I felt good after the meal and it was not because I had eaten something but because it had been that feeling of Christmas that makes people a little nicer that had propelled them to invite me so I would not spend this day alone in my room or walking through what was probably a very empty city. The following day came which was the 26Th and leave early I did as I had to catch a very early train to Warsaw so it was on the night table in my bedroom that I left the key along with a ten dollar bill. It is funny how that might not seem like much to the average American or Hungarian now a days but then 10 dollars was the average weekly salary for many a person in Hungary. The money I left not as payment for the meal but as a small present which I feared to give directly as hurting the feelings of someone who had invited me to Christmas was the last thing my heart desired so I did it in a way that might be understood hopefully as a traveler in a rush giving what he can.The country which saw me spend the most Christmases is the United States which does not really celebrate the evening of Christmas but uses it as a time to get ready for the day to come. It is generally on this eve that food is prepared or people, those who have one sit in front of their fire places listening to Christmas songs or watching one version or another of Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol”.It is the day of Christmas itself the 25th of December and only this day that is of real consequence in the USA as it is on this day that children along with their families rise early from their slumber to those presents under the tree and in their stockings. On this day after going through on emotional round of Christmas present opening the turkey is carved for young and old as families go about eating their meal. As a personal comment I must admit that I always found having turkey for Christmas slightly tiring specially after having had it less then a month before for Thanksgiving. Some around the world may find it strange how Americans well some any way go shopping on the 25th as many though not all the stores are open. It is with the intension of getting those truly last minute presents or getting those boxes of Christmas cards at half price to give out next year that arouse many an American to leave the comfort of home to go to one of those open department stores. Naturally there is the case of those teenagers whose wish is non other then to spend their present which was given to them in the form of cash or gift certificate as fast as they can get to the nearest store. I even recall how 21 years ago I bought my first camera on the day of Christmas in a store on 5th avenue in New York. There are also those who take advantage of open grocery stores to get those items they might have run out off or forgotten in all the rush rush of the season to get such as apple sauce for the turkey or a bottle of eggnog. After myself the second biggest traveler in the family is my older sister Mili (though not my oldest) who has also spent Christmas in several different countries given the many places her Spanish husband was posted to by his former employer Columbia Pictures. It was in Ecuador in the city of Guayaquil, year of 1984 that I spent one of the most memorable Christmases due to the tropical weather of this city. I if truth be told never felt the need to see snow on Christmas for New York contrary to popular concept does not show off snow covered streets every year but however it was not beach weather that I was used to either. As for the celebration of Christmas itself I can not claim to have noticed anything that distinguished it from the way the same festivity is carried out in Peru or Argentina. People in Peru and Argentina like those in Ecuador also stay up till midnight on the 24th to wish each other a merry Christmas with a big hug after which they tear in to their presents and then at their turkey dinner. It was with great hunger I noticed the meal is consumed in these countries as they abstain from victuals till midnight and for the most part have not eaten since lunch. This appetite in some is even further increased by the tragos (drinks in Spanish) they drink in the lead up to that minute that turns Christmas eve to Christmas day. Another thing about Peru, Argentina and Ecuador that I found unique was the way in which fireworks are used at midnight to light up the sky. I being American was only used to seeing such displays on the 4th of July.As for Italy this being the country of birth of my grandmother and where part of my heritage comes from it is strange that I have only spent Christmas there once and it being not long ago in the house of my daughter’s Godfather Erico Jannone (who sadly passed away earlier this year) who lives near Torino which in English is known as Turin. As for Italian Christmas the only thing that really separates it from the American version is that they eat 7 seven types of seafood. Apart from this there is not much difference between Americans and Italians as they both wait till the 25th of December to both celebrate and open presents though they part company when it comes to going shopping on this day for Italian strict social laws do not allow businesses to be open on this day.The country where we spend Christmas can not help but influence how we spend it but one thing that we must never forget is the people who we celebrate it with us. It was in the company of my now late compadre and his daughter and son that my wife, daughter (The Little Opera Singer) and I spent this most special of days on the Christian calendar. It was his pleasant demeanor added to his regional Neapolitan charm that made this day so grand as he told my daughter all about the befana. Befana being the name given to the gift bearing witch who visits toddlers on Christmas.Last but not least I will describe my Polish Christmases where people also have their distinctive way of celebration and that being to perform all the rituals of this holiday on the 24th of December on the day they call Wygilia. It is at the moment when the evening’s first star lights up in the sky that Polish people start in. First by sharing a wafer of some kind with each other as they exchange season wishes. As far as I am concerned I can not in earnest claim to have taken a fancy to this almost ceremonial act though I have nothing against it either as I simply do not take part in it as I do not feel any emotional connection with it.It is after the sharing of this wafer that Polish people start in on their meal that includes 12 dishes one to symbolize everyone of the Jesus’ apostles. The dishes are for the most part cabbage composed along with other things that do not include meat as the Polish tradition though not of the Church does not allow the eating of any meat that is not fish. I in my personal preference prefer not to eat each dish therefore I concentrate on just 3 or 4 of them as my taste buds prefer to concentrate on fewer foods at a time.It is following the meal that presents are opened though in my case I save the presents I am giving not only to my wife and daughter but to others to be opened the following day and how could I proceed other wise then also saving the presents which have been given to me for the same day.As one can see there are many ways to spend Christmas and I have been blessed to see several of them thanks to my multicultural family and travels so it is with the truest of sincerity that I state that all of the methods of celebrating Christmas are great in their own way and that non be better for that would make some worse, non be more special for that would make some less but they be equal in the differences and similarities for after all do they not carry the same purpose behind them which is sharing with one another. It is with this thought that I end this article by saying that no matter how you choose to spend your Christmas eve or day may it be to your heart’s content as that is the purpose of this day to my way of seeing things.

The Spoilt Child Who Became A God

A fairytale setting to how or perhaps why God might have created humanity and what there was for him to gain from doing so.Once upon a time there was a child who had enormous powers beyond even his own comprehension though where he obtained them was never made clear to any of those around him nor were the reasons for him wielding them. Naturally, those who accompanied him too had powers but not to equal his own though they too lived eternally as did he who they called “God” while they were referred to as “Angels”. Amongst these Angels; it was the one who was given many a name which stretched from “Lucifer” to “Satan” who was mightiest of all. The spoilt child was specially close to this one who though under him in power even surpassed him in devious ways of deception which in concert they would use to their mutual benefit and mirth. All of those in the place called “Heaven” had a fondness for one another but none could rival the spoilt child and this special Angel; for what came between them was an understanding that needed not explanations to them for they were one of the same and were they differed they complimented one on another by possessing what the other lacked. This union would come to be vital as time surpassed in its relentless ways; in greatness that could not be accounted for by measure. This in contrast to the limited patience of the spoilt child that reached his with the angels he had created. Truth could be found that they were his friends and he could count on them to remain as such but yet were theirs was respect; worship it was not for what in him should requite it of them?Had the spoilt child’s creations which were the Angels been handed too much strength that they needed not bow down to his every whim as he had originally intended them to or perhaps now desired them to? Was the case one that like he their time was unlimited and were not ones to require him to the point of feeling the longing to look up to in awe of what he was for they were not so much below him? Reasons, there might have been but this was not a matter as what was at issue in place was the “ego” of he who in error made his companions too much to his own strength. This leaving them no room for what he praised as truly being subjective to him. Regret was his; for in his desire to prove what he could accomplish. He undoubtedly had over played his generosity with these creatures which he now needed with argument more so then they did he. Long for them to kneel to him he did yet in all he knew he had not installed in them such notions as they even inhabited his home where they would do so for all time to come.Sadness compiled with despair was what came over the spoilt child who had so much wanted to be all to those he created in having their adoration, fear of his judgment and so much more but in this he had been introduced to the failure of his own magnificence which witnessed him change to take up the ways of the egotistical, self-centered and aloof. All to an even greater extent then his past had known. The spoilt child was one who defined the eternal meaning of what never could end for it had always been and would be. This however made him one who would and could not change or progress for doing so had a significance of moving forward which would have lead to a point which undoubtedly and inevitably would have lead to a conclusion that would have been a termination to not only himself but those that encompassed him. Stagnation was theirs of those in heaven as his was theirs and theirs was his for if the present does not alter; if it is always what be then and if it be such there can not be a future and without this ingredient the past also does not exit for all we contact is now. All this made a world where ideas where not new; for they had been played out and put on to practice but problematic this was for what could be the way to give raise to new as opposed to simply developing the already created. The spoilt child’s knowledge was great for he knew all; with nothing escaping his awareness however his was the lack of progress in being able to make use of the facts he had stored in his mind that would have lead to wisdom. For though he was powerful there were certain realities which he could not change with one counting among them that wisdom only was to be taken and henceforth had by those who applied it in their experience but how could he accomplish this? To gain such which he wanted but feared for many a reason. His might not be charm like he had only known to exist but pain and suffering but without crossing these bridges his destination would not be reached but above all their was a price for what he needed most. This precisely worded being mortality; a sacrifice of his immortality would have to be made for this experience of all the beauty of the senses would have to be made. All would be and could be his but only for time that be limited for when it was handed in eternity, appreciation was decreased as abundance gave less significance to what was to be had. If he tasted the food it meant he could hunger for it, if he had youth it left him with no alternative but to have its opposite and if his had known the joy of a begging that sees hopes arise; it like a top to a bottom where one can not be if there is not the other an end was bound to arise which strong as he might be he would not defer from himself. The flesh was what he lusted for but this too implied that it could wither; if his being should be composed of it though the touch of another might bring ecstasy like neither him nor those around him would ever experience for theirs were not bodies but spirits that had not a home that time or others could devastate.Emotions, passions, ecstasy, yearnings, lust and all that was of true grandeur he was denied of as in him they had no use; for this was not a structure that he would though could have for where there was a front there was a back and he knew he could not have for himself what he truly wanted; as the result would be renunciation of the spirit he was which represented what would always be and never alter or progress. His dilemma, this was greater though for even if he could alter the rules and gain his goals without making his being wither; another complication it would create which Lucifer warned him of. If the spoilt child were to have his way and take joy from that which had become to be true grandeur; would not suffering be applied or emerge from him if he were to taste what was truly grand and have it snatched from him by its absence. Torture would be his to savor if true grandeur were to come and leave behind emptiness for true grandeur’s avoid after having entered would reach beyond even his eternity. What options did the spoilt child have but to never gain what his fear of consequence would always deny him? If he could or would not dare then an idea was planted in him by his beloved Lucifer. Another group of beings would have to be created; who were far less powerful then himself or those around him, those who could never cause ill to him, those he could rule as he wished and even torture when his will or need for amusement called for it. Always under the pretext that his will was not leading them. He would have his worshipers, who would adore him and place him even beyond themselves though they would be but experiment to him whose height would sore so much above them that they would have alternatives limited to worshiping or be accompanied by the wrath he could not display on his Angels. Disposable they would be bearing the names of Humans while installing in them the trepidation of him which he overlooked for the ones he had created before.

What Makes Us Love?

An article about what is it about people that makes them fall in love with some individuals and not others. It is hard for me or for anybody to say with any real preciseness what it is that makes a man or a woman fall in love with another man or woman, of course we can always mention what first attracted us to that person but what made us become enamored? The first attraction part perhaps coming in the way of the person’s looks, personality or even way of dressing. I for instance was once, many years ago had my eye caught by a young lady’s hat which lead to a drink and what is commonly referred to as a “one night stand” between us. With regards to this young lady who held few other attributes other then a nice hat and large mammary glands, we would go on to meet on other occasions but never to repeat our night, not that this was something either of us regretted in anyway. Needless to say this first encounter did not produce love toward the other from either side yet I ask what is it that makes a person fall in love with one person and not another.I have come to believe in my many years that the reasons people fall in love can be compared to the reasons people like one food and not another. For instance, a man or a woman can know a person who he or she admits is attractive, intelligent, charming, rich, cultivated and even friendly yet not be in love with that person which is a similar case with foods. This being that one can recognize that a particular food is high in protein, minerals, vitamins while being low in both calories and cholesterol; which would make it healthy but not necessarily tasty to a person’s whose taste buds which simply do not accept it as such. Some might even ask why somebody is not in love with such a person or does not like such a nutritious food and yet is there an answer other then one simply is not? Of course arguments will come to mind, such as he or she is rich, beautiful, intelligent, educated, nice to you, is in love with you and posses all the qualities which for the most part are admired by most and yet despite this we do not love that person, for admiration and love are not the same thing. Many times, in fact more often then not people love foods that are anything but healthy, which perhaps might not be the wisest thing but the fact remains. Like with foods, we might even fall in love with somebody who not only does not posses any of the above mentioned qualities which we do not even fool ourselves that they do and yet we are in love with them just the same, in a way we almost can not control anymore then we can explain.Of course sometimes in life, we have to eat things we do not like or do things we do not like and a person for different reasons might be obliged to eat such a food but it would hardly be enjoyment of its flavor. This too can be the case with love that sometimes, a man or woman may go as far as to take to the ways of marriage; as this is an institution which can come about via many roads, such as business or so many others which have so little to do with love.I remember once, many years ago I was asked by a friend of mine why I had a fallen in love with a Polish girl by the name of Anna, as in fact I did not find her overly beautiful in comparison to some of the other women I had dated and yet in all honesty I could not give a reason that elevated her to being so high in my esteem; as to place her above all the rest, who also possessed similar qualities. I could even go further that with her contrary to many; ours did not reach full intercourse; her being one who preferred to save her virginity for the night of matrimony yet mine was to fall in love.In conclusion I have come to believe that in fact it is not the person we fall in love with or the qualities or lack of which in the person but the way we perceive them in our gratitude that creates us to be in love; for can we honestly say that any of the things we see in that person, we can not find in another, with whom we have not fallen in love with? All of which creating me to put my faith in the concept that just as our palates are made to savor certain flavors, so too our sentiments of love are created to fall for certain individuals. For it is something in them that we react to in a way we do for no other. Sometimes this going to the extreme that we want and need that certain someone; who like sweets is even bad for us yet it is what we can not help, as I feel is the case of a lovely woman who has told me she feels in such a way about me, in what I consider to be very poor taste in men. This also the situation I find myself in, as my sentiments echo hers in what makes my taste more elevated in ladies then hers in men.

An article about the gift of life, which is said to be God’s greatest. Before I start this article, I would like to make it clear that I am an agnostic, this meaning that I have not ruled out that possibility that a god might exist though I have not accepted by reason that one by all means has to be. I however for my part can say that I am not one who feels the need to obtain this knowledge regarding weather God is a certainty or not as I regardless of which have chosen to life my life a certain way which I will not change, specially should there be a god.Regarding the teachings of the bible, however it is on this topic that I do have firm views on, as I have read this book and like most have interpreted it with my own wisdom and logic; which I am not one to believe will necessarily be everybody’s. The bible claims and I refer to this source since it is said to be the word of God, directly passed on from him to us, his creation or so such is credited by some that life is a gift from God. This meaning that God loved man and wanted to share his feelings of the same and therefore created him in his own image. As he passed on what many consider his greatest gift of all which is life.I, however for my own have come to believe based on what I have read in the bible and if this source holds any truth to it; that life is not a gift from God but an obligation of the worse kind, since man never asked for it; nor did he ever accept it under the conditions which it was given to him. This concept of mine coming from what I perceive a true gift to be; which is what we receive with the giver wanting nothing in return. This being for instance what could come in the form of a book; which we may do with as we please. We may read it but do not have to, we may keep it or throw it away or sell it if we choose to do so or destroy it should this be our desire. This the case with a real gift, however if we are given a book and told that this is a book which we have to read every day, learn by heart and can not give away, sell or damage in anyway with the threat of punishment if we do; then this book is no longer a gift but an unfair obligation. It is this logic, which I am aware some may even find as absurd which has lead me to believe that if life does indeed come from God, it should be no means be considered a gift, of any kind but an obligation, unfairly passed on to us. This being the case since God never asked us or even our ancestors, whom he is said to have created if we wanted this so called gift of life or would accept it under the conditions he was giving it to us. These conditions being the ones that dictate that we have to live by his rules, following his will alone and for the most part living our lives exclusively for him with nothing but him in mind, where failure to do so will lead to castigation from his part. I ask myself is this really the sort of gift I would want to receive, to which I reply in the negative in the most determined way as I feel a gift, if handed with noble intentions holds not conditions, not even that the person or group of people who receive enjoy it. This being the case for they may choose simply to throw it away but even this God forbids; for doing so is considered a sin, which carries tremendous punishment which if one thinks over the matter with logic bares none. For at the end; is it not like throwing away what one never asked for in the first place but was given and if life is a gift in reality then should we; those who receive not have the right to use it as we wish and or not at all if such should be our desire, without having to explain our selves to anybody, much less be punished.I am naturally aware that some will always consider life to be a gift from god and it is not this concept which I wish to change however it is with the desire of passing on a perhaps new idea that I chose to write this article. This idea being that if God truly wanted to present us with a gift called life, then he should have given it to us with no conditions what so ever, specially since he never asked if we would accept them or not. No conditions meaning that we will not be punished for not following his rules and are free to live as we humans deem fit to do so, in a world where we do not have to live our lives with the intent of pleasing him but he with the intent of pleasing us.

Why Do We Love?

An article about loving a person just for the sake of it and not necessarily for the sake of wanting to be loved in return. Many people fall in love, it is as natural a process as can be yet what is the reason that causes this to happen? What makes one fall in love with one person and not another, well the answer is simple though not specific and that being that there is something in that person which the one falling in love was not able to find in another. This might be the looks of the person which are pleasing to the eye or the personality which attracts another aspect of the one to take to the ways of adoration. We might say an emotional effect has been caused in the one to fall in love much like a physical one is caused by the elements of nature such as the cold which may cause one to shiver or the heat which may cause one to sweat. This perhaps sounds overly simple, even too much to be true however if one thinks the matter over; looking at the facts what else is there to consider? Of course some may ask with some degree of logic to their question which might come in the form of “does our falling in love depend on weather or not the person we fall in love with has been affected by us in the same way as we have by them?”. It is this question that I would retort in the absolute negative for the reason following. Those who truly fall in love; weather it be a man with a woman or vice verse or those of the same gender do so for the above given reason and not because a person might have felt the same thing for them. Of course when one falls in love, not that one can control this emotion, as easily as one can control the actions this causes one to take; one always risks that the person one falls in love with might not feel the same. I however ask does this really matter, weather or not the person we fall in love with does not feel the same for us, for do we love the summer any less because it feels nothing for us or anybody for that matter? For if we think the issue with cold logic which may be hard to do when intense passion (which in reality is suffering) is at sake, we did not fall in love because we were being loved or felt we were but because the person in question made us feel something toward him or her. For love be not an affair as when one is conducting the business of buying and selling; where one gives something because one receives or expects something in return and may even take back what one offers if the other side does not keep its end of the bargain. In this game we commonly refer to as love; it may even occur that the person we love will never love us in return, making it stretch in to the impossible that their love will ever be ours. I however ask should this stop us from loving this person and even answer that if reason prevail it should however let us ask another question. When a person through accident or perhaps not has his or her spinal chord severed, in fact this means this person will never walk again as doing so would be impossible however does this person have less desire to walk simply because he or she knows he or she has no chance of ever doing it? The retort naturally is “no” for that person still longs to walk even if deep down that person is all too aware that such dream will remain just that. It is my perception that tells me that so is the same with love to those who are perhaps condemned or blessed to love for they will continue maybe even foolishly to do so even if hope has been dashed. This being the case for it is better to love then be loved: as loving is a sentiment like a fever which we feel when we have it with equal if not more strength, coming from our bodies though of a more pleasant nature then the illness to cause our body temperature to rise above normal. Contrary to loving, being loved is not like the sun’s heat which we feel on our skin; for it is insignificant to those who do not respond in kind to it. This being the case though they may even be aware of it emitting from others in their direction; however will not take pleasure from it if they don’t feel it back. All leading us to perhaps reconsider who is more fortunate; the one to love or be loved.I however in all that be this do not wish it understood that I am claiming that being loved by the one we love holds no importance; for though it holds not any regarding weather we love or not; it does regarding weather this person will or will not be in our future, however this is another point to my original one. Of course true love means putting the happiness of the one we love in front of our own and it is with this in mind that I say to those who love someone who does not love them, that it would be best to simply remain in the background but not disturbing in case their love should one day be requited. Always taking in to consideration that this may never occur and if such should be the case then they like me should take consolation when faced with their last moment on earth that there was a moment they loved somebody to point of not being stopped by how this person did not love them back and the grandness it made them feel.
