this and that

we develope the mind in this existance by learning to distinguish one thing from another. From the simple distinction made by infants...me....not me....to the most abstruse scientific truth. the learning process is an evolution of the basic dualistic nature of this reality. this is true from the microscopic details of cell structure to the naming and study of the stars. if you still dont grasp the significance of this underlying duality, consider the fact that this message is brought to you through the courtesy of the numbers zero and one. that's all computers really know, after all. so we have yin and yang, this and that, us and them, and so on.i was thinking these thoughts in response to a query put to me in our chatroom by aidan ada, namely, if there is god and he is good why is there all this bad! i found my answer in the book "THE BOOK" subtitled "on the taboo against knowing who you are" by Alan Watts. it's just the way it is....the coin has two sides. perhaps this is why christ said that it is necessary that evil come into the world, but woe betide him by whom it comes, Karma. the result of duality.well anyway, somehow we must be aware of the totality of things. we are one it is saidat the same time, we are instructed not to judge, because of the nature of duality, we will be judged by the same standard we apply to others. that's just the way it goes.so what standard to use, cause we know we're gonna do it, right?personally, i'm glad god is merciful.perhaps i should try to develope a little mercy myself.sometime ago, i programmed my mind to remember that i forgive all those who have in any way injured me.this brought a great sense of liberation.i highly reccomend itPEACE
