About Yourself

I am a white woman, 62 years of age, soon to turn 63 on July 22nd. I have two grown children, a son who is in the ministry, and a daughter who is an HR Specialist, and a step-daughter from my 2nd hubby's first marriage. I've divorced once, and am now married to my 2nd husband, (until death, or something else unforeseen). I have seven grandchildren through marriage, only one of them blood, and one great grandchild. A couple of things I would like for you to know is, I was in a horrendous vehicle accident when I was very young, at approximately 19 or 20 years of age, which left me with a crushed right hip, and a crushed left ankle. There were also some ailments that were not visibly apparent at the time. However with age, they have made themselves known to me. I have now had two spinal surgeries, on my upper spine. The first surgery was done back in 2001, at which time was found a tumor laying inside the lining of my brain. Due to the placement of the tumor, (very close to my brain stem), it was considered too dangerous to try and remove it. The only good news they gave me, was that the type of tumor it was/is not malignant, but benign. How that tumor had developed where it did, is still a mystery to me. My 2nd hubby and I, after his retirement from a company in Indiana, moved to South Carolina, shortly after my 1st spinal surgery. We have lived here ever since, and I love the atmosphere down here. We live in a fairly small tourist town, as compared to some, named, "Myrtle Beach". There is much more to my story, but for now I will leave it at that. I now wear a neck brace 24/7, and am in constant pain. I am currently on Social Security Disability, which is a very small sum of money, due to the fact that I was a housewife and mother for years before I went outside my home to join the "workforce." Needless to say that what income I now collect is a small amount. As you know, our Country is still working under the "MONEY" is "POWER" System. Between 2006 and 2008, my husband and I were separated. Long story there too. Suffice it to say that during our separation I went through what I think is the most Hellish time of my life. But I believe I learned some pretty harsh truths. I have two wonderful children from my 1st marriage, both of whom have long since left the nest, so to speak. My son is now well into his 40's, and my daughter 38. Both children are from my 1st marriage. My 2nd hubby, is an alcoholic. I learned the hard way that he is a very selfish individual. Although he does say that he loves me, I have come to understand that it is a selfish love. He suffers from many ailments, mostly due to his lifestyle. There is much more to the story, but I will leave it here for now. As to my interests, well.......everything interests me, but I mostly enjoy, or at least, did enjoy riding a bicycle, walking on the beach, reading a good book, and using the internet for more than just to play games. I enjoy doing research, and digging until I have uncovered the mysteries.

Your Teachers and/or Spiritual Sources of Inspiration

Well, my spiritual source is myself. I know it sounds crazy, but you have to understand that I was never comfortable sitting in a church listening to a minister/preacher espouse religion. It is my opinion that most religions are simply another form of control over the masses. I have always felt more "Spiritual" rather than subjecting myself to adhere to any particular religion.
