............Count of St. Germain was also an interesting example of longevity. If we may believe  Voltaire and Francis Bacon there appeared at Court of Henry IV and Louis XIII a knight with every appearence of physical and mental perfection who looked like a man of 40 yrs old. His name was Count of St. Germain. The surprising thing about him was that he remembered all the events of a 150 years before. There was nothing mysterious about it, becouse we can read one of Bacon's work a passage of great importance which explains everything - "........Whenever he was invided to dinners and suppers he touched nothing except fruits and little of them ". According to another great mind of that time Ideler, he sometimes fasted completely for several weeks...................
