Thank you for your friendship Ken. I look forward to getting to know you better on this inspiringly interesting and often provocative site. I especially appreciated your encouraging words about the sinkhole situation. I was not really worried too much, I just thought it was ironic that I had to read the sinkhole post on the first day in Florida! I just love irony.......Life is so full of mystery and irony abounding. So you survived Charlie? Wow, I have not been exposed to hurricanes before, but was sitting in my back yard when a mini tornadoe stormed through my neighborhood once when I was a kid and it lifted me and my lawnchair and I ended up in the neighbors yard five houses down. Scared the begeezers out of me. For a minute I thought I was going to end up in Kansas with wizard of oz. I was not hurt but now I have a definite respect for very large winds and all the damage it can do that is for sure. I heard Punta Gorda and Port Charlotte got just about wiped off the map, whew. Glad I was not sitting in a lawnchair when it struck. It is so true what you say about no matter where you go there are drawbacks. I had been stuck in Maine for a year trying to sell an inherited home and I REALLY did not like the cold, the ice, the heating oil prices and all the drawbacks of very cold places. To me Florida is the place for me. I can handle heat pretty well but when I am cold I am miserable. I am so glad to have finally found my way to Florida. I know I am going to be much happier. I told my friends if they here me complaining about the hit to hit me up side the head one-time just for general principle after them having to listen to a years worth of bellyaching from me about snow and cold, haha.

Hi Ken, just popping by to say hello. I am all pretty much settled in in my new house here in Port Charlotte. Hotter then heck today, but am loving the heat compared to the bone chilling cold of Maine. My Maine friends tell me that it has been about 45 there, rainy every day, and they had a frost last week one night. Glad I am not around up there about now. Just wanted to wish you a good week. No hurricanes yet to blow me away, although I am going to get hurricane shudders for the livingroom, the last ones were blown off by
Charlie I hear.
