To accept a friend request, look in the top far right hand corner at the top bar of your profile page, you will see two symbols next to your namesake,simply put your mouse over each of these symbols and it will tell you that one is for emails,the other friend requests, it could also have a number under it telling you that there is a request waiting to be accepted,or a number on the envelope telling you there is a notification to be read,simply click it and then accept the request.
