A Poem By Me

The crimson dust fills the air,
Like the hate of men upon each other.
Love and kindness are lost, beware!!
Nuclear radiation everywhere.

Hard to see where we went wrong,
Intelligent beings not at all.
Minds of the great and mighty fall,
In the aftershock of a destructive song.

We've always been down you and me.
Democracy, our power, was never to be.
Money is power, and power is money.
The greatest gift, our life, is where we stamp our feet.

Sense makes me think,
Could it be any other way?
Maybe it could, but we only pay heed,
To the lust lorn frenzy of our greed.

As we went about our daily lives,
People with power pushed the button.
Then I saw the heavens fall,
A grave decision was made, just through speculation.

I am now but a speck of dust,
Wandering where the hot wind takes me.
Devoid of life, our planet is now just,
A failed organism, waiting to be free.
