You can simply focus on whoever you are concerned for while doing the chant. I have used this to 'pray for' friends/loved ones and it seems to Always help quite noticeably. ------------------------------------ -Every, Every Body Be Healed Right Now
Be healed right Now!
Every, everybody be healed right Now
Every, every body...
Every, every body...
Every, every body be healed right Now
Every, every body be healed right Now

GLAMOR - A Glimpse Into One Conceptual Artist's Self-Imposed Ruleshttps://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/profiles/blogs/glamor-a-glimpse-into-one-conceptual-artist-s-self-imposed-rules2012-06-21T20:30:00.000Z2012-06-21T20:30:00.000ZGiovanihttps://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/members/Giovani

Hi-i!

One of the things I love about creating art is the insight it gives me into what we may REALLY be doing, here on Earth in these fleshy bodies that live in time and space.

Well, any "game" might offer such insights.

But conceptual art, for me, makes this obvious moment-by-moment.

One great example is how I've imposed certain rules upon myself, which have sometimes made maneuvering about a real challenge.

One rule, in many cases, has been the imposition of glamor.

By glamor, I mean something close to what other people call sexiness. But it's not the same thing. What I mostly mean is showing skin. However, when people speak of sexiness, they often include the idea of seduction and a sort of knowing attitude in which I'm simply not very interested.

(cc) Jacrews7 on Flickr

So, I just mean I like to bring attention to revealing clothes or to introduce nudity (or even simply make panties visible) in a piece of text. (And, yes, luxury DOES figure into this - but that's the easy part.)

Why?

Well, of course, part of it is simply that I find it titillating. It has a way of pushing up the energy level. I'm talking about feminine glamor, now - women. Why? Because our society has created a powerful opportunity to feel a great charge through feminine glamor, while preserving the freshness of physical innocence. None of this is automatic, of course, but it IS available. Not so much with men.

In many cases, I go further, ONLY visibly populating these works with women. One sex, but two genders, in many cases: not male and female, but tomboy and princess. Even in works that feature both sexes, I almost always focus on the female sex. Why? Mostly in reaction to masculine default. (It's also the reason why I sign all my art: G. Saintiny.)

Rules, rules, rules. But I'm always curious just how far I can push these rules.

In songs, for example, I live by what I consider to be the #1 rule of songwriting: Never say die. I mean it literally. I just about never use words like: die, kill, or murder.

Mind you, I wrote a song ABOUT a firearm. The plot of the song is about a woman teaching someone how to use one. She basically says that you point and you squeeze and there's no turning back. She asks, "Is this your first time," and we realize it must be. She makes it clear that "She won't be your wet nurse."

I never say kill.

On the other hand, in my rock opera BLOOM I say kill, outright. Why? Because it's the macabre story of a man who has lost his mind and performs a murder. It's a story soaking in beauty, but it's about a fundamentally ugly moment. So, if the entire context is murder - a meditation on murder - different rules apply. (James Bond movies are a good example, too.)

But I seldom write such things. I wrote BLOOM a long time ago and have no desire to write further horror material, though I still cherish that work. It's a TRUE rock opera. There are only about nine words of talk dialog. The whole thing is propelled by song. And the songs are amazing!

(Nonetheless, I seldom look them over for singing or to reminisce. It's just not my thing, and - even then - I felt the only available niches for my imagination were violent. But finally I decided that I would decide, regardless of society's presumptions - or my projections.)

Rules are what help us create and slip into forms. Sounds pretty metaphysical, no? ;O)

It's thanks to rules that we can create a sonnet and then refresh ourselves by creating haiku.

Anyway, back to glamor.

You'll notice another rule behind the rule I mentioned about glamor. Most people spell it with a letter U. Well, I've grown up in the USA and can't understand - for the life of me - how it is that the "m-o-r" inflection exists, and yet Americans often spell it "m-o-u-r", which looks totally British to me.

I do use a few Britishisms, but with purpose behind them. For example, when discussing movies, I speak of a "theater." But when discussing plays, I speak of a "theatre." Very handy, no?

In other words, I do my best to write in living languages. I create melodic chant, for example. These aren't unheard of. But they are all but unheard of in English (and seemingly in ANY living language). Well, I have no interest in creating the next melodic chant in Sanskrit or Latin. I want it in English and to have vernacular vigor.

Now, I've spoken of glamor and innocence. To take it further, I'm especially interested in glamor as a means of activating our divinity. This is not a new idea. It's the reason why fairies are often nude or very very glamorous. It's why many ancient deities are portrayed in the nude (Remember Venus/Aphrodite?). A divine concept is rendered spectacular through glamor. That's the basic formula.

And there are other formulas, as well. One of my most glamorous references is to two "supreme beings" (as Deepak Chopra calls them in CREATING AFFLUENCE) who represent wisdom and wealth. He identifies them as Sarasvati and Lakshmi. I call them Princess Dawn & Candy (sort of a wave vs particle thing). But why does one have a title and not the other, if they're both SUPREME beings? As Chopra puts it, relating their legend, "When you pay more attention to Sarasvati, Lakshmi will become extremely jealous and pay more attention to you."

So my formulation is literally a wisdom and wealth blessing! And I play with it in many ways: via the title for Princess Dawn, via the way they interact, and by always making Princess Dawn a little more glamorous than Candy.

Rules, rules, rules.

When you're imposing them on yourself - Well! Ya gotta love 'em! ;O)

Sunshine & Blessings,
Giovani

A cop has nine lives.......https://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/profiles/blogs/a-cop-has-nine-lifes2011-08-27T19:30:00.000Z2011-08-27T19:30:00.000Zmarkandeyarishihttps://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/members/markandeyarishi
http://youtu.be/YtH0QtMCTcA
CHANT RADHE RADHE.....https://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/profiles/blogs/chant-radhe-radhe2011-08-27T00:24:22.000Z2011-08-27T00:24:22.000Zmarkandeyarishihttps://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/members/markandeyarishi
http://youtu.be/DoGLhcFxsZw
Syria seethes, protesters chant 'God is With Us' - CNN - August 5, 2011https://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/profiles/blogs/syria-seethes-protesters-chant-god-is-with-us-cnn-august-5-20112011-08-05T18:47:48.000Z2011-08-05T18:47:48.000ZKarma's Helperhttps://www.ashtarcommandcrew.net/members/KarmasHelper

"They shoot right and left, right and left. On Saturday evening the tents covered an entire block on Rothschild Boulevard, and protesters threw cottage cheese containers on the Likud HQ on nearby King George Street. A couple of days later, the tent protests came to dominate the news cycle.

Housing minister Ariel Attias (Shas) argued that the protesters were spoiled kids that refuse to leave the fashionable center of the country, but by Tuesday there were tents in Jerusalem, the southern city of Beer Sheva and as far north as Kiryat Shmona, near the Lebanon border (see a map of all the protests here).

By Wednesday protesters tried to break into empty apartments in Tel Aviv and Jerusalem; the tents on Rothschild Boulevard stretched several blocks, all the way from Habimah Square to Shenkin Street, and marches and rallies were scheduled for the weekend. The Friday papers declared that Binyamin Netanyahu sees the tent protest as the greatest potential political threat to his governing coalition.

These protests, which began as explicit anger at the rising rental prices in cities across the country, have been fueled by the response of Netanyahu’s government, which initially, with hostile rhetoric, dismissed them as being part of a large, leftwing movement being funded by outfits such as the New Israel Fund. The initial rhetoric, which claimed that the protests were not about anything other than the “Zionist Left’s” political agenda, only served to increase protesters’ anger and resolve.

These reactions from Netanyahu and other government officials have served to broaden the protests, which have now moved from rent prices to a host of social justice issues: women’s rights, union rights and education reform, among other things, with general chants of “revolution” heard on the streets last night.

What has yet to be heard, in the protests, are calls for more democracy in the wake of the anti-democratic laws that have recently been passed. Also absent has been the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

However, as these protest spread, and all indications are that they are going to continue – as Israel’s progressive left awakens – I suspect that all of the above issues will become represented by the protests, which are taking on a large, general “anti-Netanyahu” bent.

The sign reads “Women Before Profits”

For the first time, last night, Israel appeared as its neighbors have for some time. Yes, the protests may have had a different genesis, but they share a common thread: anger with the current regime.

Things may be changing in Israel.

Author’s Note 1: Protests have moved in earnest to Jerusalem, where a thousand protesters blocked the entrance to the Knesset. The protesters, who have set up camp in the city near the Prime Minister’s residence, marched by Netanyahu’s home on their way to the Knesset. As Haaretz reports:

On their way, the protesters passed by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s residence and tried to block a nearby street while calling on Netanyahu to resign. They were consequently scattered by police forces and continued marching to the Knesset.

This, from Haaretz, shows that Netanyahu’s frustration is clear:

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu rebuked Likud ministers on Sunday for not trying to solve the housing crisis that gave rise to the mass nationwide protests.

Sources close to Netanyahu said he is extremely frustrated by the Likud ministers’ lack of cooperation, not only in trying to find solutions but also for not defending the government in media interviews.

Meanwhile, more tent cities have sprung up throughout Israel, showing that this crisis only appears to be growing for Israel’s ruling class.

Here are protestors before the Knesset, chanting in Hebrew “We Demand Social Justice.”

Pic courtesy of@ibnezra, aka Joseph Dana.

And in Haaretz, Gideon Levy addresses what many commentators have wondered: how could these protests impact larger political issues (such as I/P) in Israel? He writes:

If this unclear struggle by the renters of apartments on Shenkin Street is successful, matching the struggle against the price of cottage cheese, then additional Israelis will see that it is worthwhile, and that there is a chance and there is hope. Perhaps then they will go out and fight for matters that affect our fates to a much greater extent. If they see they have the strength to reduce the price of one-room apartments of 30 square meters, perhaps they will understand that they also have the power to change the nature of the country – 22,000 square kilometers not including the occupied territories.

If the struggle succeeds against the tyranny of the apartment owners and the Finance Ministry – which was what motivated them to go out and demonstrate – perhaps they will find the way of struggling also against other more severe forms of tyranny. That is the big test before the people.

A political pilot project whose importance cannot be underestimated is taking place now on Rothschild Boulevard in Tel Aviv, and in other tent cities throughout the country. It is up to the Israelis to blow an empathetic, encouraging and impassioned wind into their sails. We must now leave apathy and cynicism behind at home and go out to the tents.
Author’s Note 2: Aziz Abu Sarah, in a very interesting piece called “Israeli housing protest makes no connection to the occupation,” writes:

This argument doesn’t hold water anymore. It seems like many Israelis didn’t receive Mr. Daum’s memo about Israel’s golden era. On Saturday tens of thousands protested the housing problem in Tel Aviv. The main squares in Israel have become tent cities. Medical doctors and students are protesting their working conditions as the prices of food and gas are increasing rapidly. School teachers’ paychecks are shrinking every year . The social democratic ideals upon which Israel was established are evaporating. The rich are getting richer and the poor remain poor.Israel’s low unemployment rate and high GDP are indeed impressive, but not necessarily indicative of a healthy community. China has the second largest economy in the world and has one of the highest GDPs. However, China is run by dictators and is filled with poor people. Many of Israel’s poor are the employed poor.

What amazes me is many Israelis’ inability to make the connection between the continuation of the occupation and the domestic problems Israel faces today; Israel is building constantly in the West Bank but it is failing to provide housing to its citizens within Israel proper. The current Israeli government’s focus on improving living standards in settlements while failing to do the same for the rest of the country is a moral failure.

Author’s Note 3: For additional reading on the “tent city” protests, I suggest the following:+ Understanding the tent protests
Why we march tonight

Netanyahu rebukes ministers: give me ideas to solve housing crisis

Author’s Note 4: Christy1947 has a diary up discussing the possible connection between Israel’s housing crisis and the settlements, among other things.
