Q 1 A. Why do so many people remember god.
Ans Because god must have done something great for us & that is why we remember him. For example we remember Gandhi ji because he helped India in achieving freedom.

Human beings have limited knowledge but god has infinite knowledge.

The way you are growing in silence, in your meditations, in your grace, and the way the gratitude is coming to you, YOU DON'T NEED ANY PERSONAL GUIDANCE. You need to be more and more open to the impersonal existence. The idea of personal guidance is mind's old habit to become dependent on someone; and I am struggling hard against your habits.

THE WHOLE EXISTENCE IS AVAILABLE TO GUIDE YOU -- and you are now in a position to be in direct contact with the universe. As your gratitude deepens, as your grace becomes more and more clear, as your silence becomes more and more rooted in you -- IT IS THE UNIVERSE ITSELF WHICH TAKES YOU INTO ITS OWN HANDS. Those hands are invisible, but they are there; you are not orphans in the universe. You are immensely needed and loved; you are just not aware of it.

My own suggestion is to DROP THE IDEA OF PERSONAL GUIDANCE, because anybody will try to guide you according to his mind, according to his ideas of how you should be. That's what all the teachers of the world have been doing: imposing their idea, their image on people who are searching and seeking guidance. IT IS ONE OF THE MOST DANGEROUS GAMES TO PLAY, because in it you are always the loser. If the teacher succeeds in imposing certain directions, certain patterns, disciplines, ACCORDING TO ME IT IS NOT GUIDANCE; IT IS MISGUIDANCE. Because nobody knows your unique self -- only you can know it. And you have to grow according to your nature, not according to anybody's guidance.

To me, TO BE NATURAL, TO BE SPONTANEOUS IS ENOUGH. All guides have been misguides. And you can see it: the whole universe of humanity is living in tremendous misguidance. Otherwise why should there be so much insanity? Why there should be so much misery, so much agony and spiritual suffering? The reason is that nobody HAS BEEN ALLOWED TO BE JUST HIMSELF, HIS NATURAL BEING.

YOUR SO-CALLED RELIGIONS DON'T TRUST NATURE. They trust in holy scripture; they trust in dead words spoken thousands of years before, by people we do not know whether they knew anything, or they were just creating fictions... Unless you know, you can never be certain. BUT THEY ARE MOLDING YOU ACCORDING TO PATTERNS CREATED IN THE PAST. This process of molding people into Christians, Hindus, Mohammedans, Buddhists, goes against the very basic human right; IT DOES NOT ALLOW YOU TO BE YOUR NATURAL SELF. And unless you are yourself, you cannot be happy.

Just think, if there were teachers teaching roses that they have to become lotuses... Fortunately, ROSES DON'T CARE ABOUT TEACHERS AND RELIGIONS AND CHURCHES. But just think for a moment: if people were there who were telling the roses to be lotuses, the marigolds to be roses, what would be the ultimate outcome of it?

Roses would try to become lotuses, which they can never become; IT IS NOT THEIR SELF-NATURE. They can only be roses, beautiful, immensely graceful, fragrant. But if this idea of being somebody other than what their nature is, is imposed on them, TWO THINGS WILL HAPPEN: they will never become lotuses, but their whole energy will be wasted in trying to become lotuses. And the second thing is they will not be roses either, because from where will they find the energy to be roses? That whole energy is making an effort for the impossible.

ACTUALLY THE SAME HAS HAPPENED WITH HUMANITY. Everybody is giving you an ideal; everybody is ready to tell you how you should be.

ALL "SHOULDS" AND ALL "SHOULD NOTS" HAVE TO BE ABANDONED. You simply have to listen to your own inner voice. And wherever it leads, just go without bothering whether people think it right or wrong.

IF YOU CAN BECOME JUST YOUR OWN SELF, if you can blossom into your intrinsic nature, then only will you have blissfulness -- a peace which cannot be expressed in words, and a certain poetry to your being; a certain dance to your being, because you will be in tune with existence. ON THE PRESENT CRISIS

Question: You say the present crisis is without precedent. In what way is it exceptional?

Krishnamurti: Obviously the present crisis throughout the world is exceptional, without precedent. There have been crises of varying types at different periods throughout history, social, national, political. Crises come and go; economic recessions, depressions, come, get modified, and continue in a different form. We know that; we are familiar with that process. Surely the present crisis is different, is it not? It is different first because we are dealing not with money nor with tangible things but with ideas. The crisis is exceptional because it is in the field of ideation. We are quarrelling with ideas, we are justifying murder; everywhere in the world we are justifying murder as a means to a righteous end, which in itself is unprecedented. Before, evil was recognized to be evil, murder was recognized to be murder, but now murder is a means to achieve a noble result. Murder, whether of one person or of a group of people, is justified, because the murderer, or the group that the murderer represents, justifies it as a means of achieving a result which will be beneficial to man. That is we sacrifice the present for the future—and it does not matter what means we employ as long as our declared purpose is to produce a result which we say will be beneficial to man. Therefore, the implication is that a wrong means will produce a right end and you justify the wrong means through ideation. In the various crises that have taken place before, the issue has been the exploitation of things or of man; it is now the exploitation of ideas, which is much more pernicious, much more dangerous, because the exploitation of ideas is so devastating, so destructive. We have learned now the power of propaganda and that is one of the greatest calamities that can happen: to use ideas as a means to transform man. That is what is happening in the world today. Man is not important—­systems, ideas, have become important. Man no longer has any significance. We can destroy millions of men as long as we produce a result and the result is justified by ideas. We have a magnificent structure of ideas to justify evil and surely that is unprecedented. Evil is evil; it cannot bring about good. War is not a means to peace. War may bring about secondary benefits, like more efficient aeroplanes, but it will not bring peace to man. War is intellectually justified as a means of bringing peace; when the intellect has the upper hand in human life, it brings about an unprecedented crisis.

There are other causes also which indicate an unprecedented crisis. One of them is the extraordinary importance man is giving to sensate values, to property, to name, to caste and country, to the particular label you wear. You are either a Mohammedan or a Hindu, a Christian or a Communist. Name and property, caste and country, have become predominantly important, which means that man is caught in sensate value, the value of things, whether made by the mind or by the hand. Things made by the hand or by the mind have become so important that we are killing, destroying, butchering, liquidating each other because of them. We are nearing the edge of a precipice; every action is leading us there, every political, every economic action is bringing us inevitably to the precipice, dragging us into this chaotic, confusing abyss. Therefore the crisis is unprecedented and it demands unprecedented action. To leave, to step out of that crisis, needs a timeless action, an action which is not based on idea, on system, because any action which is based on a system, on an idea, will inevitably lead to frustration. Such action merely brings us back to the abyss by a different route. As the crisis is unprecedented there must also be unprecedented action, which means that the regeneration of the individual must be instantaneous, not a process of time. It must take place now, not to-morrow; for tomorrow is a process of disintegration. If I think of transforming myself tomorrow I invite confusion, I am still within the field of destruction. Is it possible to change now? Is it possible completely to transform oneself in the immediate, in the now? I say it is.

The point is that as the crisis is of an exceptional character to meet it there must be revolution in thinking; and this revolution cannot take place through another, through any book, through any organization. It must come through us, through each one of us. Only then can we create a new society, a new structure away from this horror, away from these extraordinarily destructive forces that are being accumulated, piled up; and that transformation comes into being only when you as an individual begin to be aware of yourself in every thought, action and feeling.

Osho und Das Christentum am Kreuz

Die Wiederauferstehung Christi mag möglich sein, nicht aber die Wiederauferstehung des Christentums.

Tatsächlich starb Jesus überhaupt nicht am Kreuz. Bei der jüdischen Kreuzigung dauert es wenigstens achtundvierzig Stunden, bis der Gekreuzigte stirbt; und man kennt Fälle, wo Menschen fast sechs Tage am Kreuz gehangen haben, ohne zu sterben. Weil Jesus schon nach sechs Stunden vom Kreuz abgenommen wurde, ist es ausgeschlossen, dass er am Kreuz starb. Es war eine Verschwörung zwischen einem reichen Sympathisanten von Jesus und Pontius Pilatus: Jesus sollte an einem Freitag, so spät wie möglich, gekreuzigt werden, denn samstags stellen die Juden alles ein, ihr Sabbat gestattet keinerlei Tätigkeit. Am Freitagabend stehen alle Räder still.

Die Absprache war, Jesus spätnachmittags zu kreuzigen, damit er vor Sonnenuntergang abgenommen werden konnte. Vielleicht würde er bewusstlos sein, weil der Körper so viel Blut verloren hatte, aber tot wäre er noch nicht. Danach sollte er in einer Höhle verwahrt werden, und noch vor Ende des Sabbats, noch ehe die Juden ihn wieder ans Kreuz bringen konnten, sollte sein “Leichnam” von seinen Anhängern gestohlen werden. Man fand die Grabhöhle leer, und Jesus wurde so schnell wie möglich aus Judäa hinausgebracht. Und sobald er wieder gesund und ausgeheilt war, zog er nach Indien. Und er lebte ein langes Leben – 112 Jahre – in Kaschmir

Aber den Anhängern, die in Judäa zuruckgeblieben waren, gelang es, die Story von der Wiederauferstehung zu verbreiten. Und man konnte sie weder beweisen noch widerlegen. Weder konnten sie Jesus herbeizaubern – wenn er wiederauferstanden war, wo war er dann geblieben? -, noch konnte die andere Partei nachweisen, was passiert war. Sie hatten einen so riesigen Felsblock vor die Höhlenöffnung getan, dass es für Jesus unmöglich war, ihn beiseite zu wälzen. Und ein römischer Soldat hatte vierundzwanzig Stunden Wache gehalten… also war es ausgeschlossen, dass jemand anders gekommen war, um seinen Leichnam zu entfernen. Deshalb sage ich, dass durchaus eine Art Wiederauferstehung stattfand – es war eher eine Verschwörung als eine Wiederauferstehung. Aber ganz sicher starb er nicht am Kreuz und er starb nicht in der Höhle, in die man ihn gelegt hatte. Er lebte noch lange weiter.

Aber das Christentum schafft nicht einmal per Verschwörung seine Wiederauferstehung, seine Wiedererweckung zum Leben. Es gibt eine grosse Bewegung unter den christlichen Theologen, und sie machen verzweifelte Erklärungsbemühungen. Schon die Art ihrer Anstrengungen zeigt, dass sie zum Scheitern verurteilt sind. Ja, ihre Anstrengungen sind lächerlich.

Bis heute, seit zweitausend Jahren, beruft sich das Christentum auf diese Wunder. Gerade sie waren seine Grundfesten, auf ihnen basierte der Beweis, wieso es allen andern Religionen Überlegen sei… denn ein Gautam Buddha läuft nicht auf Wasser, ein Mahavira kann keine Toten erwecken, ein Krishna kann keine Kranken durch einfache Berührung heilen, ein Mohammed kann nicht Wasser zu Wein machen.

Diese Wunder sind seit zweitausend Jahren hin Zeichen der Überlegenheit des Christentums über alle Religionen gewesen. Was hat das Christentum denn sonst schon zu bieten? Aber die Theologen sind bereit, auf die Wunder zu verzichten, weil sie heutzutage ständig unter Beschuss stehen. Niemand will mehr an sie glauben, sie verstoßen gegen die Natur der Dinge, und das Leben ändert keinem Menschen zuliebe seine Regeln, seine Gesetze. Folglich fühlt sich der moderne Theologe nicht wohl in seiner Haut: Er weiß selbst, dass es unmöglich ist, die Wunder zu beweisen.

Es ist also ein mutiger Schritt, aber sehr gefährlich. Wenn man all die Jesus-Wunder wegnimmt, dann bleibt nur ein armer Mann übrig, ein Zimmermannssohn, der nichts hat, was sich mit Gautam Buddha oder Mahavira oder Zarathustra vergleichen ließe. Ihr nehmt ihm tatsächlich allen Glanz, und der beruht auf Wundern. Aber Wunder lassen sich nicht beweisen, und da ihr die Wunder nicht beweisen könnt, bringt ihr Jesus in Misskredit. Besser also die Wunder weglassen, damit Jesus wieder glaubhaft wird. Aber ihr begreift nicht die Tragweite: Ohne diese Wunder wird Jesus bedeutungslos. Doch das Christentum hat sich auf diese Wunder gestützt, um seine Überlegenheit über andere Religionen zu beweisen. In Wirklichkeit sind diese Religionen dem Christentum weit überlegen, weil sie sich nicht auf so alberne, kindische Vorstellungen stützen.

Der eine Theologe verzichtet auf Gott, der andere macht sogar Jesus selbst zu einem Mythos, der dritte Theologe nimmt die Wunder weg und der vierte nimmt die Religion selber weg - er will ein religionsloses Christentum. Ich begreife nicht: Wenn man den ganzen Inhalt wegnimmt, warum sich noch an die Kiste klammern? Jetzt muss auch die Religion entfernt werden, denn die halbe Menschheit ist bereits religionslos.

Es scheint, ihr klammert euch einfach an das Etikett, den Namen “Christentum”. Es ist eine verzweifelte Anstrengung und noch dumm dazu. Warum nicht akzeptieren, dass das Christentum tot ist? Gott ist tot, die Wunder sind tot, die Religion ist tot. Jesus wird nicht mehr von der Jungfrau Maria geboren – was gibt es also noch zu retten?

Aber die Bemühungen gehen noch weiter dann gibt es auch noch weitere Anstrengungen. Denn du kannst nicht lange eine leere Kiste schleppen. Bald spürst du selber, dass du etwas Dummes tust. Und auch die andern werden merken, wenn sie einen Blick in deine Kiste werfen, was für ein tolles Christentum du hast! Kein Jesus, kein Gott, keine Wunder, keine Jungfrau Maria - nichts mehr von alledem, was einmal das Christentum ausgemacht hat. Warum schleppst du dann diese leere Kiste weiter mit dir herum?! Man bemüht sich also irgendwie, die Kiste neu zu füllen.

Christliche Theologen studieren andere Religionen, um etwas von ihnen zu übernehmen. Doch es wird Imitation sein, unauthentisch, denn es entspringt nicht ihrer Erfahrung. Sie nennen das ”Vergleichende Religionswissenschaften” In allen christlichen Seminaren studiert man ”Vergleichende Religionswissenschaften”. Ich habe die Professoren und Leiter dieser Seminare gefragt: “Warum kümmert ihr euch um andere Religionen? Ihr habt doch das Christentum.” Sie sammeln alle möglichen Dinge in ihrer Kiste, wo einmal das Christentum drin war. Alles ist so eklektisch, dass kein organisches Ganzes daraus wird. Wenn du in die Kiste hineinsiehst, hast du den reinen Wahnsinn vor dir. Denn die Dinge, die sie sich holen, gehören zu den verschiedensten Systemen, in deren Kontext sie eine lebendige Qualität besitzen. Außerhalb dieser Systeme sind sie tot. Von dem einen die Augen, von dem anderen die Hände, vom dritten die Beine, vom vierten das Herz – glaubt ihr dadurch entsteht ein Mensch in eurer Kiste? Nur weil ihr alles beisammen habt, was einen Menschen ausmacht? – Hände, Kopf, Augen Herz? Alles ist da, aber es ist einfach absurd. Es ist keine organische Einheit da, und es ergibt auch keine organische Einheit.

Das Christentum ist tot. Ihre verzweifelten Anstengungen, es zu retten, bestätigt einfach nur, dass es tot ist. Aber man braucht Mut, um das zu akzeptieren. All dieser Aberglaube ist das Rückgrad eures Christentums gewesen. Ohne diesen Aberglauben wird euer Christentum sein Leben völlig verlieren. Und es wird noch absurder sein, an irgendein Christentum zu glauben, das von Aberglauben, Wundern, Gott, ja selbst von Religion, entleert wurde.

Nun, wo sie nichts mehr finden, greifen sie auf die Ethik zurück und sagen: “das Wesentliche ist nicht die Doktrin” – weil all ihre Doktrinen widerlegt worden sind. Dies ist nur das letzte Aufbäumen einer sterbenden Religion. Lasst diese Doktrinen fallen, sie töten euch, geht lieber fur etwas/lasst euch lieber auf etwas ein, das euch wieder lebendig macht.” Die Ethik ist nichts anderes als eine in sich geschlossene Wissenschaft. Sie denkt über Werte nach – was nichts mit hinduistisch, mohammedanisch oder christlich zu tun hat. Ethik wird das Christentum nicht retten können und ihm keine Auferstehung bescheren.

Das Christentum hat keine Chance mehr. Und es wäre gut, wenn sie das akzeptieren und den toten Leichnam fallen lassen würden. Er ist eine große Last. Und wenn ihr sie unnötig mitschleppt, verpasst ihr euer eigenes Leben. Und wenn ihr in einer toten Religion lebt, werdet ihr zwangläufig selber bald tot sein. Eure Kirchen sind Friedhöfe. Da ist nicht das Lied des Lebens, nicht der Tanz der Schöpfung. Es ist besser, einfach aus der alten Gewohnheit auszusteigen. Das sind nämlich alles nur alte Gewohnheiten! Ich weiß nicht, warum das traditionelle Gewand der christlichen Priester, Nonnen, Bischöfe Habit genannt wird – ich weiß es nicht. Aber eines weiß ich: dass ihr eure Habits, eure alten Leiern einfach fallen lassen müsst, egal was das Wort bedeutet. Seid einfach natürlich und menschlich.

Der Mensch ist mündig geworden, und er braucht einen wissenschaftlicheren Ansatz, mit dem er sein Dasein erforschen kann. Und das geht nur, wenn er seine alten Habits abstreift, seine Gewohnheiten, seine alten Klamotten. Und die sind sehr schmutzig, denn seit Jahrtausenden sind die gleichen Klamotten von unzähligen Menschen getragen worden. Sie stinken! Schlüpft so schnell wie möglich da heraus!

The Heart

My way has been described as that of the heart, but it is not true. The heart will give you all kinds of imaginings, hallucinations, illusions, sweet dreams? but it cannot give you the truth. The truth is behind both; it is in your consciousness, which is neither head nor heart. Just because the consciousness is separate from both, it can use both in harmony. The head is dangerous in certain fields, because it has eyes but it has no legs? it is crippled.

The heart can function in certain dimensions. It has no eyes but it has legs; it is blind but it can move tremendously, with great speed? of course, not knowing where it is going. It is not just a coincidence that in all the languages of the world love is called blind. It is not love that is blind, it is the heart that has no eyes.

As your meditation becomes deeper, as your identification with the head and the heart starts falling, you find yourself becoming a triangle. And your reality is in the third force in you: the consciousness. Consciousness can manage very easily, because the heart and the head both belong to it.
