The Root Chakra

 

The Root Chakra centers upon our core needs for survival, security and livelihood. When the Root Chakra is unbalanced, you will feel ungrounded, confused and lack the ability to move forward. Without a balanced Root Chakra, it is impossible to fully balance the other chakras.

Root Chakra Location: Base of the spine, by the tailbone/coccyx.

Colour: Red

Element: Earth

Sound: C/Oohm

Signs of Balance: Grounded, Secure, Safe, Content.

Symptoms of Imbalance: Ungrounded, Unclear of Purpose, Fearful, Insecure, Confused.

Effective Root Chakra Crystals: Bloodstone, Garnet, Red Agate, Red Aventurine, Red Jasper, Red Tiger Eye, Ruby.

The Sacral Chakra

The Sacral Chakra influences personal creativity ranging from artistic expression to creative problem solving. Healthy sexual desire and expression is also controlled by the Sacral Chakra, though communicating sexual desires is also directly affected by the Throat Chakra.

Sacral Chakra Location: Just underneath the naval.

Colour: Orange

Element: Water

Signs of Balance: Smooth Creative Flow, Healthy Sexual Desire, Positive Outlook.

Symptoms of Imbalance: Sexual Problems or Dysfunction, Fear of Sexual or Emotional Intimacy, Infidelity, Needy or Withdrawn.

Please do not except this information as the only information. I came across this while researching essential oils and I quite liked the information contained here with the chakra links and such. It is a concise piece for each chakra and I do not feel it is exhaustive.

Indeed I am aware that many effective crystals have not been mentioned with regards to chakra work such as the blacks for root work, amongst others. Use your own intuition and knowledge to choose accordingly.
