White House on aliens: No contact yet, but we're looking

The Obama administration's position on the existence of aliens, and whether the people of Earth have had contact with them, can be summed up this way: "Searching for ET, but no evidence yet."

That's the title of the official White House response to an online petition signed by 12,078 people that asks the government to acknowledge an "extraterrestrial presence engaging the human race."

"Hundreds of military and government agency witnesses have come forward with testimony confirming this extraterrestrial presence," the writers of the petition contend. "Opinion polls now indicate more than 50% of the American people believe there is an extraterrestrial presence and more than 80% believe the government is not telling the truth about this phenomenon.

The people have a right to know. The people can handle the truth."

The response to the petition was written by Phil Larson, who works on space policy and communications at the White House Office of Science and Technology Policy.

In a 417-word essay, he explains that the U.S. government currently has no credible evidence that life exists beyond our planet -- or that any member of the human race has been contacted by an extraterrestrial.

But that doesn't mean the administration thinks there is no possibility that alien life exists.

In fact, quite the contrary: "Many scientists and mathematicians have looked with a statistical mind-set at the question of whether life likely exists beyond Earth and have come to the conclusion that the odds are pretty high that somewhere among the trillions and trillions of stars in the universe there is a planet other than ours that is home to life," writes Larson.

He says the U.S. government is actively involved in the search for life beyond our planet.

He cites three examples of the search:

-- NASA's Kepler spacecraft, which is looking for Earth-like planets primarily in the Milky Way galaxy.

-- The Mars Science Laboratory's Curiosity rover, which will look for the chemical building blocks of life on the Red Planet.

-- And SETI, the Search for ExtraTerrestrial Intelligence, which was originally started with help from NASA but is now run through private funds.

So, ETs take note: If you want to phone Earth, the Obama administration is listening.

The White House has responded to the Disclosure Petition. The final signature count was 12,078.   As expected it was written by a low level staffer from the Office of Science and Technology Policy - research assistant Phil Larson.   The response was unacceptable.   The response page (link above) includes a Feedback option.   Much feedback is likely.

PRG will address the White House response on Monday, November 7 via an international press release and op-ed submissions to various newspapers.

In a short while PRG will begin to pre-promote a new petition relevant to the Disclosure process.   This petition will then be submitted to We the People and an effort will be made to garnish the 25,000 signatures in 30 days (the new threshold) required for another formal response.    Those who have signed previously will not have to register again to sign the next petition.

PRG will continue to keep the Disclosure issue front and center within this attempt at participatory democracy by the Obama administration.

I think the ET's are waiting for us to be ready too!

It's great to have someone progressive in the White House like Obama, it really does make a difference when it comes to funding for SETI, Kepler, etc. To reach deeper into space than ever before is profound. It's great to hear the Array is going back up too, that's great news. Reminds me of the 90's... :)

WELL said M. I could not have said that better!!! I totally agree with your assessment of our government. They are the ones that handed me on a platter to abduction to be used like a lab rat uterus factory. I have to forgive what happened in my life, but I NEVER forget......that the PTB gave free reign to the grays that were dealing with our leaders, or so the story goes...sometimes I wonder if it was the grays or black ops abducting and drugging and hypnotizing us to think that it was the grays, I would not be too surprised at any stunt they would pull...I will never know for sure....but I will never never forget what they do to citizens of the US, we have no value to the PTB other than pawns....I mean look at chemtrailing....why would any government deny it is happening when it all in plain site in the sky....I guess I better stop now, I am getting on an angry roll...but my kudos to you M. I totally agree.

Yea I got this in my email too. I wasn't really surprised, but I was disappointed. I mean, it's such a crock lol But I don't think that the White House, or that level of government, has any real knowledge of UFOs. They are not privy to access the highly classified files. It's like when JFK, supposedly, wanted access to the files and was told no. Bill Clinton too, straight up, was told....you don't have the classification. I think alot of people in the government, the senate, the congress etc would like to know about it, they just can't. So I think asking the White House to spill the beans really is asking the wrong folks. They aren't that high up in the compartmentalized structure of power.
