I don't watch her, don't listen to her. I don't take anyone who can't bother dressing beyond their panties seriously.

 

I remember when beautiful women used to get dressed and sing, now it's all about who exposes the most flesh. Half of them can't sing for crap, but up on the stage flashing themselves in very little clothing seems to make them a star.

I think it could be about her being in love with an abusive lover. She hopes that her love will heal him of his wicked ways, and wants everyone else to see the good in him because most people regard him as a scumbag, but his evil nature is of a biblical magnitude, and all he can do is see himself for who he is, and embrace it.

I just heard this song come on the radio and I hear the lyrics "I"m in love with Judas baby" and I'm thinking WTF is going on here? --Dark Rae

 

Some people sympathize a little with Judas, because he thought he was doing a good thing by turning Jesus in and was misguided by his own instinct. I don't know how Lady Gaga intended the lyric.

 

I'm in love with Judas... --Lady Gaga

 

Perhaps, to her, Judas stands for something metaphorical-- not the literal Judas that betrayed Jesus. Perhaps she is using a Jesus/ Judas metaphor for something in her own life. Being a little "devil's advocate" here...

Honestly, it seems she's talking about a bad ex-boyfriend or lover.

In the most Biblical sense I am beyond repentance
Fame hooker, prostitute wench, vomits her mind... --Lady Gaga

 

Here it sounds like she is speaking sarcastically about her own celebrity status as a "bad girl."

 

But in the cultural sense I just speak in future tense   (?) --Lady Gaga

 

Here, I think she is saying that she has brought something entirely new to her industry. She's a new "fad," so to speak.

 

Judas kiss me if offenced or wear ear condom next time --Lady Gaga

 

"Judas" in this sense might be those of the populous that don't like her or talk shit about her/ "betray" her. This whole song might be about dealing with those that don't like her and criticize her in the music business and in her life. "Ear condom" means, "don't listen to me if you don't like me."

its not about forgiveness and its not about redemption, judas is all the things that keep you from the light, its a personal thing, the strougle with your old demons, of how you keep coming back and forth the darkness and the light in order to understand who you are, those were her words, and i think we´ve all been there.

an awakened mind looks beyond the obvious.

Well, Pichu, point-of-fact is, unless GaGa confesses to the meaning of the lyrics (provided she is the one who wrote them and provided she'll be honest about them), this is all just speculation anyway.

jon c. she did say that at an interview, i heard it myself, can´t give you a link cuz im typing from a ds, however it´s art and you are all free to interpret it as you want, i must say what i´ve read so far has been very interesting, incluiding those judgements without a previous investigation but well people are people and people love drama
