Journey in Life Lessons: Perception

     There are many ways we can perceive things, or we can say it is a means of understanding . Our perception is our ability to see, hear, or become aware of something through our senses. This conscious awareness and experience allows us to interact with the people and objects around us. It is our perception that creates the reality we see around us.

     Someone told me, “It isn’t that this experience is an illusion, it is Real. It is the way that we perceive this reality that is the illusion”. Take the time to really meditate on that statement for a few minutes, it is really kind of mind blowing! It requires honest and sincere contemplation to begin to grasp that concept. I don’t know why i never looked at it like that before, but it really makes sense to me, it is a very deep and wise statement.

     Many things can influence our perceptions, or the way we see and feel about others and the world around us, like our past experiences, our beliefs, our environment and our expectations of what we think things should be. (if we want to change our reality, than we need to change the way we perceive it)

     Perception can get distorted or twisted at times, so we need to learn to achieve balance and True understanding of ourselves and our world. The ego can try to block True perception at every turn, just tell it to be quite!!!

     One way of achieving True perception would be through prayer and meditation. Take some time to sit in silence or whatever way works for you best, and just be in the moment and look within. This can help to bring about inner truth and awareness. Ask Divine Source for the love, light, truth and wisdom of the universe. Ask, and ye shall receive, as the old saying goes!

     We, as a global society need to change the way we feel and look at ourselves and others if we want a more harmonious and happy world to live in. We are all ONE, and we really need to perceive that as Universal Truth if we have any hope of bettering our quality of life on this planet for all Beings! Perceive that we are all in this together and need eachother in so many blessed ways. We need to realize that our perceptions will either make this world or break it, kind of like the saying, “you better check yourself, before you wreck yourself”.

     So, please, everyone, let us work on our perceptions of ourselves and others so we can attain a more blissful and balanced existence. Yes, it is a daily struggle, but that is what it is all about, the journey my friends!!! If we all learn to perceive things in a more fair and objective manner than i have no doubt that we will all find our way to the Light and Love of the Prime Creator...Love and light, Faiza
