"Most of these people are not ready to be unplugged, and many of them are so inured, so hopelessly dependent on the system, that they will fight to protect it." See Greece and European protests against austerity measures

what i am saying via this posting, is that ONE way to control how we are effecting/changing the world around us is by taking steps to change our own personal habits, this is just one way.
Thanks for the video link ;D

Permalink Reply by Shaz on July 20, 2012 at 1:58am Oh my God...that is so terrible! Thank you for letting us know...do you have a list of alternative companies that don't do this?
Permalink Reply by Lisafer on July 20, 2012 at 2:06am Horrific!! Thanks AmberEyes I'm printing this up and putting it on the fridge in my flat. Home made the whole way!! So many of those things are unnecessary in the grand scheme of things are lots of alternative options. Truth be told, I don't think I have many of these brands in use at the moment but will be sure that it stays that way.
Permalink Reply by ambereyes on July 20, 2012 at 2:27am I agree, that is a great idea i do a lot of home made stuff, your flatties will no doubt be wondering about those..
Although the majority of those products listed we don't have in New Zealand thank Goodness.
There is a great alternative shampoo that i have been using for the last few months, instead of Head and Shoulders, its called Organic Care, they are at any Countdown/foodtown/New World Supermarkets nation wide.. http://www.naturesorganics.com.au/haircare/organic-care/products/dr... and its not even that expensive on a student budget :D
fast facts about Organic Care...
That is just one of the natural products we have in NZ, as well as all of the Body Shop products worldwide although they are expensive, i buy a few main products from them, including makeup
http://www.thebodyshop-usa.com/values-campaigns/against-animal-testing.aspx
There is also LUSH cosmetics in New Zealand that i buy from, they are religiously against animal testing.. http://www.lushnz.com/shop/info/9/animal-testing I buy their Turkish delight smoothy, every couple of months.
Permalink Reply by Lisafer on July 20, 2012 at 3:48am Awesome, thanks hun will check it out. Yeah I generally save up and get makeup from the body shop, always have. have a couple of Lush cosmetics too, LOVE THEM! Have found Argan oil to be the best conditioner in the world and its easily available in organic form and is generally quite cheap and easy to find. You can use it in shower or as leave-in conditioner, its very versatile like that. Works for dry hands and face too, better than any moisturiser. I use it as tattoo aftercare too, a mix of lavender essential oil argan oil and organic almond oil or beeswax as the medium. Works brilliantly, even makes old tattoos look brand new. Got raw chocolate from natures gold, thinking of making a standing order. This is their site, they ship overseas too. http://www.naturesgold.co.nz/products/go-go-goji-berry-chocolate - this is sooooo yum you've got no idea!!
Permalink Reply by thepoetjoseph on July 20, 2012 at 5:51am So we should by no name brand products?
Permalink Reply by ambereyes on July 20, 2012 at 1:37pm no, just look for products that are not tested on animals... most products will have (not tested on animals) on them! if you don't know ask around, or google it..
Permalink Reply by Unity on July 20, 2012 at 12:17pm No problem, just move to China. They don't test much of anything here LOL, but they raise ugly dogs for meat. It's the land of MSG in almost everything if it's packaged and you have to ask for them not to put "weijing" in the food at restaurants and they put hot tea in thin plastic cups to give you a dose of xenoestrogens along with your tea.
Truthfully, I just want to hit the reset button sometimes and reboot the world and start over because it is such a mess.
