Don't let her diminutive size fool you: Kendall Jones, a cheerleader at Texas Tech University, has faced down some of the world's fiercest animals. But the fact that she's encountered those animals -- many of which are endangered -- from behind the trigger of a gun has activists crying foul.
Jones' Facebook page, which features countless photos of the 19-year-old posing with the carcasses of exotic animals, has drawn particular heat, with nearly 50,000 people signing various online petitions seeking to ban her from the social networking site, or from hunting in South Africa.
Jones argues her activities benefit conservation and help support the communities she's hunting in. For instance, a photo of Jones posing next to an incapacitated white rhino explains she'd helped tranquilize the animal so it could be microchipped and receive veterinary attention.
In another photo, Jones stands on the carcass of a dead elephant, surrounded by people who, she says, constitute "part of the village that showed up to take a little protein home."
According to her Facebook page, Jones is looking to host a television show in January 2015.
Despite her arguments to the contrary, many visitors to Jones' page aren't buying her stated goals of conservation.
"I'm a hunter and proud of that," reads one Facebook comment. "That being said I eat what I shoot and only hunt overpopulated animals that other wise [sic] would starve or get diseased. Trophy hunting majestic and rare animals so you can get paid by the people who sponsor you is sick! ... Don't make the rest of us look bad with this crap!"
Outrage over Jones' exploits is reminiscent of the fury sparked by Melissa Bachman, a TV personality and big-game hunter from Minnesota, who killed an African lion in South Africa last year and posted the photo on social media.
Avatar: I signed the online petition and went to her facebook page...I just paid a revisit to her FB and it's totally changed...guess mommy and daddy are afraid with all the negativity they might not get their TV show. As you might guess there are plenty of idiots who totally support her.

There's something really fishy about that Sandy Hook "shooting". They got their homes free, there was no EMS there, they said they couldn't get the " bodies" until night, they had the 26 Christmas trees BEFORE the kids "died". I don't know what is going on there, but I don't know if I believe this Sandy Hook thing. Also, the old man in the interview died, and so did the lead investigtor.

comparring attrocities to humans in past 100 yrs in the hands of fellow humans 9 which can be estimated around 100~200 millions , dont even compare to numbers of animals tortured for food ( about 6 billion a yr ) and those who were murdered for sport................wheres the freaking outrage there ?
...poor defensless animals are killed for sport and food while we know that growing and eating food from gardens is all we need. I never understood hunters whoclaim their excuses to harm innocent animals.

I hope i can give some insight i am cherokee and our ways when we hunted was not for trophy it was for survival. we hunted only for what was needed and used every part of the animal and gave thanks to the great spirit. i also went to ministry school we are given dominion over the beast of the earth to only take what we need as not to kill them into extinction and leave the rest and care for them because in the end when you no longer can afford to buy groceries we need them for survival. that all beng said i would never eat large rare cats or a hippo. all those animals she has there i can guarantee went to a taxidermist. i dont believe killing int extinction these animals are almost there. i live in the mountains of west virginia and im almost 40 yuck!!!! lol and i love hunting for what is needed and yes occasionally we must kill for protection but i guarantee anything i kill it all gets used and i believe to try somehow to give back to mother earth for the wonderful gift she supplied to us because she supplies so generously. i look at things differently than others imagine if there was a life form on earth that likes to eat human or just want to stuff us and put us by their fireplace and there are maybe only few hundred of us left would it be right for them to continue to hunt us its an ethical queston i know but thats how i look at it. back top the biblical before the first sin man walked and communed with the animals never killed them or ate them it wasnt until after the sin they became ashamed was kicked from eden and to clothe themselves killed the first animal and they used every part and took what they needed. up until the sin God provided what they needed nuts berries fruit vegetation. they were happy and healthy without meat they never got sick. well after they sinned God said you ate of the tree now you will know what its like to be God to know sickness pain death and to bare children but i think that eve got that punishment for doubting God and going against His will so God said eve you can bare the pain of child birth. but to me theres an even worse pain miscarriage. I'd really appreciate it, Mikeil if you did not talk to me as though I do not know what's going on in my own country. I'm pretty sure I know a lot more about the fast and furious debacle than even you do.

Americans have more gun rights now than they ever have. Apparently what TV programs you're watching has misinformed you. Here in Texas there is a group called open carry and they go around into restaurants and stores with their AK-15, shot guns and 9 MM on their shoulders, across their backs and on their hips where women and children are trying to enjoy themselves. I do not know about you but I do not want my family around that crap. State after state is expanding the 'stand your ground laws'.
May I suggest you do a bit more research into this before you make a statement like gun bannings have been happening for a long time and the intention is there...please. Maybe if there was not so much wholesale slaughter of innocent children there would not be any intention...it happens almost weekly now.
Just so you know I am pro-gun but am not pro-idiocy. No one needs 13 round magazines or any type of automatic weapons...those are strictly for killing humans.
