There is an interesting attribute displayed by those that are purely dismissive of those that put their head on the chopping block by my putting their opinion out there? They offer no tangible opinion of their own.
It is easy to look at a piece of writing and say "what a load of crap". But what do you offer as an alternative?
Where is the conviction in your beliefs?
In my opinion this is a display of cowardice. An inability to commit to anything due to self doubt.
It is incomprehensible that someone would cal a fellow brother or sister a liar, or ignorant, or deluded because they are speaking what they believe to be true. And then not offer a valid explanation as to why.
Firs of all you are not questioning the authors opinion. You are making a judgment against their character. You are bringing their integrity into question. And no one, certainly no one sitting in front of a computer screen, armed with bad arse typing fingers, is qualified to do that.....................................

..........It's amazing to think that there are people on this site who condemn a man who presented teachings such as this.
They are of course, the ones who do not understand this principle.
Irrespective of your spiritual practices and beliefs, this metaphor is sound. And is fundamental to what I believe a Worker of the Light stands for.
So to those of you who have a "questioning, critical", I put it to you. I offer you an opportunity to put your opinions and beliefs out there. As opposed to what it is you don't believe. And I AM curious to hear your reasonings.
Understand that saying "It's the same b/s as before doesn't really stand scrutiny. Because that would suggest that the past always equals the future. And clearly this is an undefendable argument. It is also precludes the possibility of things happening that you are not aware of. It is a big universe after all. Of things that are of a more subtle nature, that perhaps you haven't developed the sensitivity to discern yet.
Doubters of the world, you have the floor......

To me if you know something is not true because it has proven itself to be untrue, such as for instance, that the earth did not come to an end in 1996 as Sheldan Nidle told everyone one it would and then he claimed it DID happen.... for instance...that in your view it is because someone has "an inability to commit to anything due to self doubt" that they are saying that something is not true? And it does not matter that it did not happen, heaven forbid someone should point out the inaccurateness in that...therefore it is not enlightened in your eyes to point out a lie if it is a lie.....(because you are so much more enlightened then anyone who questions and does not accept everything they read and hear and are not sheeple)... Am I understanding you? So basically you are saying that it is not a good thing to keep ones eyes on what is real and verifiable and reasonable to assume is not real...that all tangible facts and probabilities should be ignored and everything printed by everyone should be embraced as truth because it is the kind thing to do???? Am I getting it right? I want to believe too but there are limits to my gullibility....I am not good I guess at making believe stuff just because others have an agenda and want me to believe a certain thing because they do. Oh and for the record when I call something out as being a lie, I back it up quite substantially with my findings and reasons for feeling that way...
You have given your opinion and judgement of people who are questioners, so how does this make you any better with your presumptions that people who question things are not enlightened...not to use your own words, but....

First of all I AM not suggesting you believe everything you hear. I AM also not suggesting you doubt everything you hear. Your approach to discerning truth is your approach. There is no judgment on that. My personal approach is to view every new piece of information with as open a mind as I can muster. And let the information speak for itself. Because i believe everything, no matter how similar it may seem, should be judged on its merits. If I don't like a particular line of reasoning, I stop following those writings. I don't see where I have said anything about what or how you should believe.
That however is not what this discussion is about.
My gripe is is with people who look at someones piece of writing, and because it does not fullfil their map of the world they make a character judgment against the person. They call them a liar, or delusional. And don't offer an explanation supporting it. Only criticism. How has that helped the person learn? All you've prove is you know as little or even less than the person you are condemning. Because I believe, if you can't offer a solution, then you don't know what you're talking about. You are part of the problem. And I won;t speak unless I can offer an alternative view point. Be it right or wrong.
What is a lie? it is a conscious alteration of a truth. For example, You are having a shitty day. And you know you are having a shitty day. And someone asks you, how was your day? And you answer great thanks. You have told a lie. You have knowingly altered the truth to create a false impression. And I do believe we are all guilty of that at some point in time in our lives. Hence - He who is without sin may cast the first stone. Me included.
Sir Isaac Newton founded the Laws of Orbital Mechanics, which describe the way bodies interact whilst in orbit with each other. Now a law, by definition, means it is a universal constant. And so it was, until they looked at how sub atomic particles behave in orbit, and discovered they did not follow his law. More recently they've discovered that stars in orbit around a galaxy also don't follow Newtons law. They are in a what is known as a flat disk rotation. So Newtons Law is only true in 1 out of 3 known scenarios. My question is, does that make Isaac a liar? Or was he just missing some information. I bet if someone had said to him, "hey mate, have you noticed that galaxies don't conform to your law he would've said thankyou. I have some more work to do. Do you have any suggestions?
People don't always get it right. They are lacking information. They are not liars. In my opinion the person making the liar claim is the more misinformed. Because they are making a judgment of character against someone that have never met.As opposed to questioning their work.
And I bring peoples behaviours into question. No their integrity.I do not call them names. I do not identify people with their behaviour.
And please, I AM very selective with my words. I would ask you to respect that fact rather than put words in my mouth. I have no judgment on where people are at in their lives.And whilst I never inferred it, you are correct. I AM no better than these people I speak about. I do however respect people and their integrity. particularly people who put it out there knowing that they are going to cop a pasting, because they believe in what they do an say. That, Marique, in my humble opinion, is courage. And if you don't have something constructive to say to these peole, Save your words until you do. It is to everyones benefit.
BTW, 1996 was a long time ago. If you don't agree with Sheldon Nidle's work, why are you still reading it 16 years later. why would you fill your mind with such lies.

I have never called anyone a name here because I think it is disrespectful and and when I disagree with someone I tell them why I feel the way I do, but do not call people names...ask anyone....even when being attacked I never call anyone names.... I thought you agreed with that too, but yet you call people trolls....whas up with that???? Is that not labeling people due to your own beliefs and putting people into a category? First of all I have not called anyone a troll. I have made an inference. At the time of making it felt that I was being "trolled". And I don't believe I had done anything to deserve the treatment I was receiving at the time.
We all have our limits of endurance Marique, I AM no different. I have used that as a learning experience and moved on from it. Can I guarantee it won't happen again? Of course not. It is however my ongoing intention to be able to make that promise. I feel much better equipped to do so now. Sometimes you don't get the healing til you pop.
I have a fairly unique perspective on the world. In my opinion at least. that perspective has come as a result of living it. So what I speak is my truth, Not what I have read, not what I have been told I only speak that which I have tested in the real world and have made work for me. It is my truth. You can question it, disagree with it.Bring my sanity into question, No problem. If you want to know how I've come to my conclusions just ask me. And if yo don't like what I have to say, Thats ok too. However no on can call me a liar. Regardless of how outlandish my comments are.
At the time of making the troll inference there were members from here that had been doing just that. Even going to the extremes of doctoring my posts. I have provided evidence in support of my claims and the lack of coment since then suggests that my evidence holds water.
If I were as you suggest a rude person, I would've taken the offending party to task over that. I have however, allowed the matter to go away. I AM not interested in fighting. I will however defend my integrity when I deem it necessary.
I hope this explains a bit more about how I operate Marique. I Am not seeeking our approval as such. I do however take comments such as yours seriously. I appreciate being asked to have a look at myself in the way that you have done. In my opinion it shows depth of character.
